  I have the Satellite Pro P300 in front of me. I use it almost 4 weeks now and I press the Start button, very gently and keep it down to the second or two and laptop starts fine everytime I want to start it.

  Do not press the button quickly several times but slowly and keep it down for a second or two.

  My satellite L655 does not load, BUT it works fine when I charge the battery of my second toshiba laptop
  also does not open when I plug just the charger without the battery (led power 3min.from-no at all)

  charger works fine
  battery works very well
  tested on my other toshiba

  It seems that there is a problem with electronic control gear.
  I mean that the laptop does not work even if plugged into the sector.
  It is certainly a problem given that all laptops would work without battery connected but connected to the power outlet.

  So I think there is a problem with the electronics which is part of the main map.

  Are you sure that all the cables are connected correctly and that the battery is inserted correctly?

  When I turn on my Satellite M40 unfortunately it does not happened on 7/8ths blue bar going across the screen.

  That left me completely baffled as what to do.

  Apparently, it could be repaired by removing the cables on my CMOS battery?

  If someone knows how I would go all this? or have any other ideas?

  Blue scroll bars indicate that the Wondiows operating system is loaded from the hard drive. If this process hangs while loading, then it is likely that the hard drive itself is defetive or else the files that are being loaded are corrupt and cannot be loaded.

  Interfere with the CMOS chip will not fix this problem because the BIOS has already been loaded at this point.

  If you have access to a bootable CD/DVD (such as Norton Disk Doctor) then I siggest you boot from it and running a scan of your hard drive. Alternatively you can try reinstalling your operating system of the Toshiba recovery CD but it won't replace your own data on your hard drive.

  My Satellite P300 (PSPC4A - 03Q 018) switched on me unexpectedly while I was playing a game. I noticed he was running a little hot (it was on a level with clear vents office). I checked the time CPU. with the software and it showed levels up to 80 c while just browse Internet and up to 100 C + all playing games.

  So I blew the vents with compressed air - no change.

  After a little research, I decided to renew the thermal grease. The pulling down of some of the fat has hardened as it seems like a useful exercise. After putting together I have nothing. The only life that I had was a quick flash of the LED AC (the symbol of the plug on the front of the palm rest) when I plugged in, but that's all.

  What I've tried so far: I stripped down and everything reinstalled at least three times. This includes the processor, even if I didn't remove it at the beginning when I replaced the thermal grease. I reinstalled all the cables. I tried it with just the battery, just the AC line and at the same time. I tried to remove the RAM chips and put one by one in different locations. I tried to remove the battery and the AC, holding down the power for 30 seconds button line and try again with just the battery, just the AC line and at the same time.

  I think I either ESD'ed the card or mother or other component/s but I hope it is something much much painful/cheaper. Any suggestions?

  Sounds that something bad happened to your hardware for laptop
  Maybe the RAM modules are faulty or the motherboard.
  I think that no one here would be able to tell which part is malfunctioning.

  What to say; If you n t know what part is affected, so I recommend asking a technician for a short control, I mean it is the best step before buying parts including don t need to be replaced

  After the hardware parts have been checked, you can decide what you want to do. sell this laptop faulty or replace parts
  But the new motherboard is not cheap...

  The webcam integrated on my Satellite P300-h-13 no longer works. When I try to use it I get the following message: locked by another application. The only program on my computer that uses a webcam is MSN Messenger, Skype Yes or as some programs are not the problem.

  I saw some other threads on this subject, but those ppl had another laptop. And because I don't know that much about computers that I wasn't sure if I had to do the same steps to make repair.

  This issue is known to me because I also had, and it was solved by installing Vista SP1!

  You can resolve this follow these steps:

  Download driver Chicony Webcam drivers from Toshiba Web site section was updated. If you can't find an updated driver, try a new driver of another model of Toshiba.

  Install Service Pack 1 for Vista, or Vista Hotfix KB934374: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934374 (KB934374 is included in SP1) or the full SP1

  Update your e-mail software (MSN/Yahoo Messenger, etc...)

  If you have another program that can use the webcam (e.g. Skype), make sure that they are completely closed and not, sitting in the system tray.

  Try closing the bar Assistant camera on the left side of the office.

  To stop the Camera Assistant software from running at startup, run Regedit and delete HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "Camera Assistant Software".

  My computer is 3 years old. A month ago, when I turned it on it only showed the THOSHIBA logo and a black on the screen (like its waiting to start, but he used). The assistance Center has guided me to unplug the AC adapter and the battery and wait for some time, reconnect it that.

  Although at 4 years old, my battery is in good shape. But just started not to load while using the laptop. The icon shows connected and reduced the charge, but the percentage of left. When turned off and power left connected, the battery up to full 100 charges %. If, in-use, I cut the power and then plug the power back, the icon shows the battery charge and the symbol within properly mounted battery icon. But after a few seconds the battery symbol stops and indicates the amount of charge stored.

  I had to update my bios & it seems that that wrong has been downloaded about 3% by installing the laptop just die and not to revert to.

  Well, if the BIOS update crashed you can do anything because the ROM module needs to be reflashed. This is possible only with special tools and only an authorized service provider has such tools.

  Then please contact the nearest service Toshiba and ask for help :)

  I just bought this laptop this afternoon, and when I hauled upstairs I had to unplug the charger. The laptop turns off. I would have thought that after having it plugged in for an hour, he would have charged at least a little bit!   Why use this product key?

  Firstly the Toshiba recovery image is already enabled and you don t need this key more activations.

  Second, it's an OEM key and it will not work with other versions of Vista!
