Satellite P300D-12Y can I install Vista 64-bit?

Hello world
I'm new here and have my first Toshiba-laptop, just bought a week ago.
It is this model
http://de.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/product/satellite-P300D-12Y/1060921/toshibaShop/false/

It works OK, but Vista 32 is quite a mess ;)

As I've worked on XP pro or Vista 64-bit on my PC now my question:

Can I install Vista64 on this book?
Do I need a special BIOS for the 64 bit - OS?
The Toshiba download page are no drivers or BIOS for Vista64 corresponding to my model number.

I tried to update my recent BIOS of 2.6 to 2.8 (included P300D-series) but without success, error message was 'no corresponding version of BIOS', I tried upgrading on windows.

All useful tips about the BIOS and Vista64-install (and whether I should get the drivers from the manufacturer sites) are appreciated.

THX in advance

Of course, you can install the Vista 32 bit on this laptop.
But the problem is that the 64 bit Vista drivers are not published at this time for this series of laptop.

So, you have to collect the drivers of your own hands.
In addition, you should not try to update the BIOS if it has not been created specially for this model of laptop.

I think the upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit is not possible.

I ordered by Satellite P300D-h-13 that came with Vista x 32.
Now, I want to install Vista x 64 for my business.

I need drivers for it, or Vista x 64 install without problem?
I realized I need to upgrade the BIOS for Vista x 64... When should I upgrade the BIOS, before or after the installation of Vista x 64?

Let's say that after Vista x 64 I want to return to my Vista x 32... recovery disk image should I upgrade/downgrade my BIOS for Vista x 32, wright?

    Thank you

    Hello!

You can install Vista x 64 on your laptop. I think it should work, but you have to look to external Web sites for drivers. So check the site of the factory hardware.

On my Satellite U400 I have Vista x 64 too and I flashed the BIOS after you have installed Vista x 64 but it is important to ensure that all functions will work well.

And Yes, after downgrading to Vista x 32, you must install the BIOS for 32 bit OS.

  • Satellite A200-1CR: can I install Vista using my Vista DVD installations?

    Hello

I would like to get some answers to my questions...

I have the satellite A200-1CR (PSAE0) and I want to install vista on my own... not with the recovery DVD but I have some serious questions...

    (1) may I have problems during the installation... (Drivers SATA, etc.), problems of BIOS or Toshiba has no restrictions?

    (2) what problem if I erase the secret (winre) partition and what is its purpose?

    (3) if I do a clean install with my DVD with my vista... If I want in a future close that I can use the recovery DVDs I got it or not?

    (4) to the drivers section for my laptop for each part has 5,6,7 or 8 drivers for win vista... which is good, or it's all the same?

    (5) in general, what do you propose? Are there reasons why not to do my format? I did a large number of formats in desktop, but never in the notebooks.

Sorry if you tired with my questions and sometimes my bad English...
    Thank you in advance...

    Why not.

    As to the question;

    (1) possibly the Vista operating system does not recognize the HARD drive during the installation of the OS. In this case you must install storage Intel Matrix (Robson package) Manager first! It of a driver SATA and can be found on the Toshiba or Intel driver page.

    (2) Windows recovery environment (WinRE) is placed on the hidden partition and it of necessary to restore a damaged operating system.
The Vista operating system automatically creates the hidden partition and Windows re installing the OS.

    (3) Yes, you can use the Toshiba Recovery CD. But it erases the entire HARD drive always.

    (4) take a newer version

    (5) generally I put t see any reasons to get in shape. The preinstalled Vista operating system has been configured and all the tools of Toshiba, drivers and additional software should work very well.
I don't recommend a new format if the operating system is working well.

    Satellite P300D-12F (PSPD4E - 018001GR) is a portable computer that has a 64-bit processor...
So why I can't find the drivers on the page of the driver for Vista 64 bit?

    Hello

    > Why I can't find drivers on the page of the driver for Vista 64 bit?
Maybe the 64 bit Vista drivers are not available at this moment, because this series is new to the market and the driver 64 bit Vista will be released in the near future.

I think that it s just a matter of time when the pilots will be published on the European driver Toshiba page.

    Not out of patience ;)

  • Satellite P300D - 12 c - need drivers Vista 64 bit

    Hello

I need drivers for vista 64-bit, anyone know is that I can find them?
I'm looking on the official website of toshiba, but there only for 32 bit...

Also, anyone know if I can put a second hdd?

    Thanks in advance

You may need to wait for the Vista 64 bit drivers.
If you n t want to wait, then you will need to collect the drivers of your own hands.

With regard to the second HDD:
Remove the HARD drive second bottom.
Check if there is a second HARD drive controller available.
Is there no connector then you cannot install the second HARD drive!

  • Can satellite M300 - I install Vista 64-bit?

    I have a Satellite phone, M300. Memory 4GB Centrino2 P8400 processor.
Can I install Vista 64 bit on my laptop?

    Why not?

Laptop computer s hardware components are strong enough to ensure good performance, even using the Vista operating system.

The M300 Satellite seems to be an Australian series for Toshiba laptop.
On the page of the Australian driver Toshiba, I could find drivers for 64 bit Vista for a Satellite M300
    http://www.ISD.Toshiba.com.au

I think that it shouldn't be a problem to get the Vista 64 bit running on this laptop ;)

  • I can't install Vista x 64 Bios on Satellite A200

Months ago that I posted that I have intalled Vista x 64 home premiun on my Satellite A200 and I can't install Vista 64-bit bios.
But today, after trying to install new Vista 2.50 x 64 Vios and have the same problem using Toshiba Recovery CD.
I need to install Vista 32 bit and I can Flash the new 2.50 Bios in Vista 32.

So I think that my CD rom is ok and I think I have not install Vista x 64 Bios because have not all drivers.

    Whats is your opinion?

    Hello

I found your other thread regarding the update of the BIOS in Vista 64-bit:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/message.jspa?MessageID=123211#123211

It seems that something was\is with your ROM BIOS module and it was therefore not possible to update the BIOS on the A200.
You case that neither BIOS 32 bits or 64-bit BIOS update is possible

So, my recommendation is. Contact the ASP in your country for a control.
Don t be angry with me, but I don't see other reasons why you are not able to update the BIOS

    Good luck

    Hello
(sorry, I can't speak English very well, sorry if I write to you with its imperfections)

3 days ago, I bought a Toshiba Satellite A350-13D. It has 4 GB of RAM, but Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit is installed. The computer can use only 3 GB.

    Thanks for your help :)
    Good day

    Hello!

Of course, you can install Windows Vista 64 bit, why not? What do you think?

On the Toshiba site I can find all the drivers for Vista 64 bit on Satellite A350 so it should all work properly with Vista 64. Check yourself:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

But note there are two different BIOS versions One available for 32-bit and one for 64-bit. After installation of Vista 64-bit, you must refresh the BIOS too.

  • New HARD drive installed Vista 32 bit, but need drivers for Satellite Pro A300-1MC

"Because my recovery disks that I made 3 years ago does not, I just installed Vista 32 bit and then on the Toshiba site, where I have downloaded all the drivers available for my laptop (a Satellite Pro A300-1MC) on a USB key (that I don't have a driver to connect to broadband on my laptop) and when I tried to open on my laptop a message comes up saying" Please insert the last disk of all selfextracting and click OK to continue. Sounds like you have enabled autoplay
Whenever you insert the memory key USB flash it will try and read the contents of the files on it.
You can disable this by holding SHIFT when you insert the USB key.
This should disable the AutoPlay option.
Then you can go to MY computer in order to access the USB key.

Note: pilots are zipped so you will need to decompress the content first, I installed a 3rd third party tool called WinRAR to unpack the packages unique.

It should be possible to install Vista 64-bit on the laptop but I could be that you will get not all drivers.
For now, doesn t support and 64-bit drivers Toshiba offers but you can search on other sites:

    Here are some examples:

    Hello

Did you look in the lower corner s computer laptop?
To do this and you will find labels with numbers.

You will find a model number of portable something like:
    Satellite P300D-12Y PSPDCE-00P005GR

I think you've probably noticed that page European driver Toshiba lists not all laptops using model numbers but the mobile phone number of series; PSPDCE example
Therefore, search by Satellite P300D PSPDCE

3 MSE is auto-update itself about once every 24 hours or it is installed?

4 can update you MSE manually via the button of UPDATE on the MSE UPDATE tab?
