Satellite P300D - install audio drivers

Hi all, I just bought a new laptop, she had French Vista on it, before that t I couldn't think of anything worse than Vista, now I know, vista in French.

Anyway so I installed Windows XP Home edition with SP2 above, wouldn't work at first because of the hard drive problem (fix came out for the update of the firmware that I have yet to do) I was able to install it after that I have change the BIOS in compatibility mode.

I have all the drivers from the site, but my card his isn't being recognized as two pci devices are not recognized. I think it can be reduced to install me the drivers of disorder, do not restart before installing the other drivers etc so I want to do everything to be sure. So the audio driver available doesn t work cos the card isn't recognized because the pci sound device properly connected to the installer of isn t, although s what I think anyway

Someone who knows, can tell me in what order I should be installed all the drivers?

Either update firmware first, then chipset then display etc.

I think that's the problem

Thank you very much

Hey Buddy, I had the same sound problem after installing Win XP. The solution is simply.
Before installing the audio drivers you must update Win XP and should install the patches Ms. Especially these fixes are needed:
AUDIO patch 1: KB835221
AUDIO patch 2: KB888111

After the installation of the two patches, you must follow with the audio driver installation.

Welcome them

  • Satellite X 205 - cannot install audio drivers

    Hey!

I have problems with installing the audio driver on my Satellite X 205 sli1. I tried to install the drivers from the realtek site, but they doesen't work. Then, I tried to install the patches 'kb835221' 'kb88811' and that the drivers but still nothing.

I can't find the drivers on the toshiba Web site. In everest, I checked my audio device is - Realtek ALC268 @ Intel 82801HBM ICH8M - high definition Audio Controller PCI.

    Please help me!

    Hey Buddy,

In my opinion the easiest way is installation of Service Pack 3 for Windows XP. It contains patches for cards high definition sound and the other important security fixes. You can download it from the Microsoft Web site.

But SP3 or patches must be installed * first * and then the audio driver. Otherwise it will not work.

So my recommendations, uninstalling the audio driver and clean your system using the freeware CCleaner tool. Restart your computer and make sure and install SP3 if it s does not. After that, install the latest driver from the Web to Realtek site.

    Hello

I think you tried a bad driver.
Some of the A300 series supports a Conexant audio chip and some of these units are equipped with a Realtek audio chip to use the right driver for a sound card.

Satellite A300 PSAG0A - 02100Q supports a chip (onboard) Realtek ALC268 sound and you have the Realtek HD audio driver.

    Hello

In my opinion, make you a huge mistake. Laptop with factory settings is perfect set up and all hardware components are working properly. OK, I understand you don't want to use some additional preinstalled software, but you must understand that you don't have to do it.

I have absolutely the same option about it than you and the first thing I did with my Satellite P200D is to remove all the software, I don't want to have installed on the system.

You can do the same thing. Go to the control panel > programs and features and then remove all the additional software. Later, install your favorite software and be happy with it.
I do the same thing. Why install OS Vista own especially if you ve already paid for a Vista license.

What do you think of this?

  • My microphone is not working after installing audio drivers (WINDOWS 7)

So I had a helmet, and it worked perfectly. (Believe me I don't know what it is to not ask) I downloaded the game Just cause 2 on steam and had audio problems with it. A solution was to reinstall the audio drivers. So I did... And it worked. I was going to start live streaming when I realized oh Hey that they don't hear me. SO I searched all over the internet for solutions, and none of them work. In Device Manager, I saw that I have definition NVIDIA high definition Audio AND the Realtek High Audio. I tried to find out if we had need of updates and nope. I have a Windows 7 so if you can help me with this that would be great. My microphone is not broken, because I pluged in my ipod and did a test it works (I have a high quality microphone and you can tell the difference between my microphone and the generation ipod touch CMI). Please help me with this!

    Hello

The best way to find that out if the problem is with the hardware or not is to test the device on another computer. This will help us to determine if the problem is with the device or drivers.

Also, try the troubleshooting steps suggested in this article if you have not already tried it.

Run the recording Audio troubleshooter and then check if can record audio by using the program "Sound Recorder".

  • Satellite A30-203 Audio Drivers installed but blue screen at startup

The Audio worked on my computer, then I cleaned my computer and installed everything again with the toshiba recovery disc and then I had no sound.

I then installed the Ac97 Drivers and whenever I click on stop, that a blue screen appears then
If I turn on my computer and the connection it shutsdown.
The only way I can get on my laptop is by switching safe, then in Device Manager and by disabling realteck ac97
my computer will work perfectly until I have activate the Ac97 in the device mamanger or reinstall it.

Basically to keep things simple when the Realteck driver ac97 is installed or / and when it is not extinguished my laptop usually start past the login screen.

Anyone has a solution please help me.

    Hello

Usually, when you use the restore for the installation of the OS CD everything should work correctly on condition that all hardware components are not defective. After the installation of recovery, it is not necessary to install anything.

Please just check the status of audio device in Device Manager, call the sound settings and the volume control on the left side for laptop. Ensure that the sound is not set to mute.

If possible please give us more information on all that after the installation of recovery.

  • Satellite L750 - 16L - Audio drivers are not working

Hey. I get no sound, I'm on Windows 7 32 bit. I tried the two drivers on the cross-section of the site for this and none of them worked. Somoene can help. Winfow 7 has just freshly reinstalled.

In my opinion, you should check out somewhat, standard options:
First the sound card must be listed in the Device Manager in the section: audio, video and game controllers. In case there is no yellow exclamation point, the audio driver has been properly installed.

Secondly, you should go to Panel of-> sound-> the Read tab
Here you should check if the speakers are set as default device.
In addition, check if the sound isn't muted.

If you want you can also connect the headset just to check if the sound through the connected speakers.

  • Unable to install audio drivers in Windows XP

    Hello

I have been using a Lenovo laptop (3000 Y 500-7761-47-Q) with Windows Vista. Recently, I installed windows XP and I installed all the drivers downloaded from the lenovo Web site. All works fine except the audio device, even if I installed its driver. When I tried to play a sound, it gives an error message 'no audio device detected on your conputer. I have been using Windows server 2003 on another drive (Dual boot), who has no problem like this. Audio device works well in the BONE and unable to detect another operating system on the same laptop. Can someone help me why this happened and how to fix this problem?

    Thanks in advance...

Download the KB888111 from Microsoft. Reinstall the audio driver.

This Microsoft Update installs HD audio bus for many, if not all, modern audio controllers on laptops.

    * These are mainly for Windows XP pre - SP3 versions. As Windows XP SP3 has this built-in fix.

  • Satellite P300D install second hard drive location

I own a P300D, it has 1 location where sits the preinstalled hard drive and an another just like it the other side. but the plastic cover of the second slot has a bunch of plastic columns that block the slot if the plastic cover is used to close the slot.

How we're supposed to fit a second hdd in there?
Am I expected to by an another plastic cover?

where can I get the metal frame to keep the hard drive correctly?
The exact product names would be nice :)

    Thank you!

    Hello

First of all, not all Satellite P300 models can be upgraded with a second HDD.
Even if the second HARD drive Bay is available, you will not be able to insert a second HDD if the HDD connectors are missing.

  • Satellite A200 PSAE6E: Impossible to install the audio drivers after installing Win XP realtek

    Hello...

Recently, I repartitioned my laptop HD to install XP and kubuntu (it came with vista)... However, I was not able to install audio drivers for its audio devices...

The laptop is a toshiba Satellite A200-PSAE6E and everest indicates the following audio controllers:

ATI hd 2xxx hdmi @ ati radeon hd 2600 - controller high definition audio
    Realtek alc268 @ intel 82801hbm ich8m - audio controller high definition

First I tried to download the audio drivers high definition realtek web site (32-bit version of windows xp). I tried to run the installation, manually navigating to WDM file during the installation of the pilot and navigation manually the folders where the drivers have been copied during the installation under c:\windows\system32\... all to nothing done...

Then I tried to download drivers toshiba official of the support web site of europe from toshiba for the realtek chip... I've lived the same behavior (both when you run the Setup program and install manually force pilots)

Then I tried to download the drivers for ATI HDMI audio device from realtek website... with the same results...

Windows tells me that it was impossible to find a driver in the any of the archives...

The only thing that could be the culprit because as far as I can tell, is that I installed service pack 3 RC2...

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Tasos

P.S. I've tried the two automatic installation through specification of a folder and choose the options "I will manually choose a driver from the list" in the hardware installation wizard... the result is always the same... Note that the audio works perfectly under ubuntu...

P.S.2 IMPORTANT! I recently discovered that toshiba offers bios versions for the A200 PSAE6E depending on if it is equipped with windows xp or vista...

This refers to which the operating system has been installed when the system was purchased, or the operating system that is currently used? Can I upgrade the Bios of my laptop with the XP version or this break from things?

    Hello

    Regarding the sound issue.
A lot of people already asked for it here on the forum and my knowledge the driver sound doesn't work because that some Member States the fixes and patches are missing.

    Please check this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//thread.jspa?MessageID=113124

You will need to install KB888111 and KB835221 hotfix

    With regard to the BIOS;
Yes, some series of laptops needs a version of XP BIOS if you want to install and use the XP on the laptop. AFAIK the A200 is one of these series of laptops.
