Satellite P300D - problem with reboot after update the HARD drive

Hello

I have laptop Satellite P300D - 12 c and recently, I put a new hard drive, the Seagate momentus 7200 RPM 2.5 "500 GB. It works well, but I have a strange problem; normally when I reboot the laptop when it will close something sounds, in the figurative sense I could say "something moves" for a bit in the DVD - ROM drive and shuts down and then restarts.

Now, when the reboot happens to the part of the dvd - rom drive, I described above it stucks there... "something is happening" on the dvd - rom drive as trying to permanently access a dvd or something and he does the same thing until I force it to shut down by pressing the appropriate button. It happens once in two attempts to restart.

Does anyone have a solution or a tip or something? If you do not understand something to tell me,

Thank you very much

Hello!

I agree with Akuma. Maybe the drive is loose and so you should try re-allocation of places there.
Maybe it works

And updated the BIOS, you can find the Toshiba site:

Good luck and give us feedback! :)

  • The urge to Ultrabook 6 problem with recovery after failure of hard drive (out of warranty)

    Hello

Please can someone tell me if it is true that to use HP factory recovery disks, hardware must be exactly the same as when purchased.

After hours wasted trying to get the recovery disks to work, I find myself with the same "failed to retrieve @ screen and some unnecessary lines of code."

In reading the various posts, it seems that I have a replacement for HP HARD drive of the same type that came with the computer. If this is the case, then the links on the support pages should say this before I have pay £39 for a set of disks.

For me, a hard drive is a hard drive. I replaced a drive fried (1 month out of warranty expires) with a good brand replacement, but larger. Disks won't load.

However, I could load W7 form an iso file and get that to work. I need the recovery because I do not know how to configure raid which allows the QuickStart on this laptop, and I don't have the time or no further inclination to make it work.

Partly a rant, sorry, but I'm wrong, and is there a solution?

    Concerning

I have seen others with this problem. Unfortunately, the only working solution, I remember the top was where a guy removed the player cache Msata, ran recovery then reinstalled.

On a single charge of Win 7 I think you could install the Intel Quick Start software, then use it to activate the quick start. I have more a laptop Win 7 with Msata to test, but I remember the software could be opened from the icon beside the system clock and used to toggle the quick start.

  • Satellite P300D 10V - how can I update the display driver?

I have a Satellite P300D 10V and there ATI radeon hd 3xxx series display panel. I bought Starcraft 2 and there was an error message: that the display driver is outdated.

I went on ati.com. They say I have to get the driver from Toshiba. I went to Toshiba, had the driver. When you try to install it says no components to install. I uninstalled the ati driver and tried again. The same thing.

Now I don't have driver for the graphics card. How can I install the driver?

    Help, please!

    Hey,.

This means that you have uninstalled the old display driver, but now, you are not able to install the latest version of Toshiba?
Well, what OS do you have?

Before installing the new display driver, you should decompress all the files. Then run the setup.exe file.
If you get the same error message, try to install the driver through the Device Manager.

    Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite M30X. I bought recently a 200 GB external hard drive. It has its own power supply. If I connect with USB 2.0 on my laptop, it happens to disconnect and reconnect leads him. Sometimes it works, so I can put data on the disc. Then again, he diconnects and reconnects repeatedly. I've tried a different USB Port, but there is no difference. It's very strange, because I plugged the external hard drive to many other computers (Laptop and Tower) and it STILL works! It is that with my cell phone, it disconnects and reconnects all the time. As I said, not always. Sometimes it works for a half an hour or two and then the action begins again...

I currently store my pictures on and an external hard drive.  Lightroom 6 was not able to find the picture momentarily files.  I inserted an external Flash DRIVE after removing the hard drive and the computer renamed the stick with the same drive letter that has been designated by Lightroom to store my photos.  I could go into my Windows 10 and reset the player to the letter that Lightroom has given at the beginning of the external hard drive.   However, I know this can happen again, if I connect any stick USD or another device, while the external hard drive is not connected to my laptop.   I found the information that I can do the new designation of the final drive by choosing a letter it is 1/2 way or higher in the alphabet.   I would like to turn an external hard drive on a strong letter, warns we hope this previous problem.   My question is, if I already have a lot of pictures on this external hardrive with the designation of the current drive, how it becomes a higher letter and have 6 Lightroom recognizes files, now under the new designation of drive letter without having to go to each photo individually and manually force Lightroom 6 find each photo.  It would take more time than I'd like to lose.  Is there a way to get just 6 Lightroom to recognize the new disk designation has changed and is able to find all of the existing files?

I have read the ADOBE LightRoom 6 manual and seem not to be able to find anything on how to do it.

    Any help would be welcome.

    Thank you!

So in Windows, you can select a drive like q letter (or any other letter you want only towards the end of the alphabet)

Then in Lightroom, you can reconnect to the photos on q: the following instructions (see specifically 4 Figure and related text)

  • System Restore to factory settings after replacing the hard drive?

I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre A52, which recently required a change of hard disk and the removal of a defective RAM 1 GB stick. When I bought my computer, it came with Windows XP Pro and the new hard drive that the updated computer has Windows XP Pro, but it seems to be missing a large part of the software (drivers and programs) that originally came with the computer, and even if I downloaded and installed most of them since the Lenovo Web site There are still some problems related to software that I can't fix. Ideally, I'd like to go back just to restore the system to the factory settings using the ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery program, but I don't know if it will work. All programs and the necessary drivers will be installed again, even if my current hard drive is not 'knows' thereon? I need to get a Windows XP Pro installation CD, if I want to keep my operating system? Also, is it important that my current hard drive is half the previous, or that I now have half as much RAM?

    Thank you

After replacing the hard drive, the only way to restore it to the State of the plant is using the Lenovo installation diskettes. You can also ask if Lenovo has a solution to your problem without having to reinstall Windows.

You can download Lenovo drivers if they are not included on the installation disk. The size of your hard drive does not matter.

  • missing hal.dll message after removing the hard drive

Original title:Ok, I had the same problem on my hard drive missing hal.dll. My question is what windows xp writes the cmos on my computer?

OK, I had the same problem on my hard drive missing hal.dll. My question is what windows xp writes the cmos on my computer? The reason why I ask, is that I physically removed the hard drive from the computer and then start the computer I get the same message hal.dll lack. Since the hard drive is not installed, the only place where this message comes's cmos or bios of the computer.
I know it seems odd, but I couldn't believe it when I saw it after removing the hard drive. It used to be with older computers and Windows 95 or 98 when you took a hard drive that wasn't working and installed with one that works from a different computer, you could swap out and boot the computer and make a few changes to some drivers if you.

So what is windows xp write to the memory cmos on my computer?

    > Ok, I had the same problem on my hard drive missing hal.dll.

The same as what? If you reference another thread, please include a link to it.

It is not write anything for her at all.

I think that you're wrong. I would like to say two things happening:

    1. you have more than one hard drive and the problematic drive was not removed, or

    2. you deleted something other than a hard drive.

Do you have a CD in your CD drive by chance?

What is the brand and model of your PC? Are you able to get into the BIOS?

Since you have replaced the hard drive and you try to install Windows on the new drive. Whenever the hard drive is replaced, the operating system must be reinstalled and restore all data you have saved

How can I reinstall windows 7 after replacing the hard drive? do I have to call microsoft or I can retrieve it somehow to the old hard drive?

Well, that certainly puts a different point of view on this subject.

There are data recovery services that can recover data from disks that have suffered from various types of failures. However, they are quite expensive. Unless the data is particularly useful, it is generally not useful.

If your Windows 7 is an OEM version, installed on the computer when you bought it, the manufacturer could have a recovery disk on sale. If it was a retail copy and you always have the appropriate product/serial number, you can get a DVD of their team of parts replacement.
