Satellite P755 - cannot activate WLan using Fn + F8

Hey

I have a toshiba Satellite P755 and I don't know why, but my button WiFi by touch and pressing Fn + F8 doenst work more and I can't use WiFi now to enter the internet

I tried to install the latest driver / wirless battery, display and others and the value of the entire too and still does not work

Can someone help me?

Hello

You use the Windows 7 system?
Other FN keys work correctly?

Please check first if the special function mode key does not affect the functionality of the FN button.
In BIOS-> Advanced-> system configuration, you can find the special function key option mode. It allows you to use the function keys without pressing the FN key.

Where this is not the problem, you must reinstall the Toshiba VAP for Win 7 as well as the utility of Support Flash Cards for Win 7

After this reboot of the laptop.

    Hello

First of all it is very important to know how you installed the WLan card and if it has been installed correctly.
I remember to connect two cables; white cable by hand and Brown to the auxiliary voltage check then Device Manager if the card has been correctly recognized. You can use the driver from the Intel Web site.

    Then everything should work properly.

    Hi Aamir Malik

Satellite P755-S5393 has been preloaded with Win 7.

If you still use this system, you should first check if the other next to the combination FN + F8 function keys work correctly.
If the keys n t work, you must install additional Toshiba as software
TOSHIBA Value Added Package and Toshiba Flash cards support utility

Drivers & updates for this model is located on the Toshiba USA support page:

Where only the combination FN + F8 does not work, I recommend reinstalling the WLan driver.

    Hello

What operating system do you use?
It is the operating system preinstalled by Toshiba or have you changed your Win XP?

If you are using Win XP, see this MS site:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/bowman_03july28.mspx

PS: You should also check if your BIOS is up to date and should update the Wlan driver.

The WLan drivers can be found here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

There are different drivers for Intel and Realtek WLan Atheros card. Therefore, it must first check the WLan card you to ensure that you have chosen the right driver!

You must activate the WLan using FN + F8 key combination
In addition, you will need to switch the antenna WLan of POSITION switch.
The WLan antenna switch should be placed on the side of the laptop. If you activate a LED should be ON.

  • Satellite L500 - cannot activate the WLAN on FN + F8

Hello to all users of Toshiba, Ii'm new to computers laptop Toshiba, this one beeing my 1st and iIhave a well-known problem, I read on the internet.

I recently bought a Satellite L500-13W. It has Realtek Wifi and comes with Vista OS. I deleted Vista OS since I have the license to the retail of Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 top intalled. All work well, Audio, video, everything outside the wireless card. I enabled from the BIOS and everything and yet when I press FN + F8 it does not activate. The drivers are properly installed, as Windows 7 brings the upgrade of drivers. He said that the card works fine, but it does not turn on and search for Wifi signals. The Orange of the WIFI led does illuminate not.

If anyone has a solution for this problem, I would be very grateful. I don't know what can be the problem, the software or the hardware.

    Advice me please. Thank you.

    Hi Darius1990,

    > Drivers are properly installed, as Windows 7 brings upgrade drivers
This means that you have installed the Windows update WIFI driver and no official site of Toshiba, right?
Well, in this case, I would try the prétestées WLAN driver from Toshiba. So you can make sure that it s not a WLAN driver related problem. Just check the WLAN from Toshiba Portal:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

Have you tested other FN keys combination?
If they don t work too you must install the package of added value and utility to Support Flash Cards because these two tools to control the function FN key and are important to use them correctly.

  • Function key on Satellite L500-1dt - cannot activate WLan

This problem started earlier today and I can't seem to find a way to solve it.

When I use the FN key on the laptop to the feature menu will no longer appear so I cannot turn my wireless back on which is the only thing I use the menu functions for...

Are there solutions to this problem or just a way to turn on my wireless without using the function menu?

    See you soon

You need to update/reinstall utility package of added value and the Flash card support, then:

It will be better if you remove the previous installed Vap and utility of flashcard to your laptop support

  • Cannot activate and use Wi - Fi on my Satellite L500-176

    Hello

I have a Toshiba L500-176 with Windows 7 Home Premium (64), only a month old and I have a problem with it.
Suddenly, it stopped connecting via wifi, I thought it would be to have installed or uninstalled a program and restores the system to an earlier point where if this worked, but still has not found a connections, so I restored the old point, asin, but I continued to work.
I tried to activate the wifi with the famous combination fn + f8 but as happens to many people is no particular combination appears on the screen (but on the keyboard). Look at the ConfigFree where it appears that the WiFi connection is not available. "

Connections via an ethernet cable works well, but like a rope of withdrawal, any wifi option anywhere.

I tried to fix it with drivers available for this model, but not at all, as a last alternative to the computer to see if it is returned to its original state, but it still does not, the wifi light only lights up when you restart, as a first step.

There is a solution? Why looking for information I found many people with the same problem and few solutions.

PD: certainly in Device Manager, you see only the Realtek PCIe controller family. And for now, I have no ethernet cable connected...

As I see, you did a factory restore settings but it still does not. In addition, it is not in the device manager that makes me think that there is material defect related to the wifi module. You said that it's only a month and still under warranty. Then, contact the Asp (SAV) in your country:

  • Satellite L350 - cannot connect, WLAN device is disabled

I just bought a Satellite L350 of second hand, and the wifi does not work properly.

I'm annoyed because I specifically asked the seller if it was OK before I bought it, so I need to know if a hardware or software problem. It is under Vista Home Premium. The symptoms are if I try to connect to my wireless router [which my other laptop can see and connect to OK] it comes up with a window telling me that "the wireless network device is disabled. Please turn the unit "-of course everything is turned on and active as it should.

Someone tell me if it is a hardware or software problem?

    Hey Buddy,

I m not owner of this laptop, but I think the error message says it all... The WIFI card is disabled, and you must activate it so that you can use the WLAN connection.

As far as I know on the front of the laptop there is a switch of material for a WLAN connection. Must be on IT.
In addition using FN + F8 key combination you can also turn off/turn on the wireless network card.

    Check this box!

  • Re: Satellite A350 - cannot activate Vista

    Hello world

I have a problem and hope someone can help me.

After two years I had to reinstall my computer laptop satellite with windows vista. Here's the problem that the productkey is not readable. So I used a little program (productkey86.exe) out of the registry. So far so good. So I installed vista with this productkey but now my computer is telling me that I need to activate. When I try to activate microsoft says: impossible to activate the product.

Does anyone know what I need to do?

Hope to hear from you soon...

    THX

    Edwin

    Hey,.

The problem is that the key on the lower side is an OEM license key and doesn t work with normal Vista installation diskettes. So that s the problem why you can t activate your Vista installation.

You wrote that you have a Vista installation disc. Why you n t use the key that belongs to this disc? This would work ;)

  • Qosmio X 770-10 M - impossible to activate WLan using Fn + F8

    Hello

    I have a Qosmio X 770-10 M and I have a problem with the wireless.
When I want to trigger on the system with the Fn key, told "the switch button is off, please turn it down."
But there is no button on the Qosmio x 770...

Maybe the switch is lightning one (near the volume control).
But there is another problem here, I can not use this button. The volume control work, but the other does not.

I tried to reinstall the package of added value, the wireless device, and some other stuff, but it does not at all.

    Can you help me?

    Thank you

    Hello

There are lights in the front of the laptop.
The second right is the WLAN led. This should light up red if the WiFi is enabled.
    Have you noticed this?

The Wlan button is available in the key media row second from left near the ECO button. This button allows you to turn on the Wlan.

Usually, these buttons are controlled by VAP (value added package) and you was on the right way to reinstall what I have no idea why it does not work in your case, it should

How do you reinstall this PPV?
I recommend to uninstall the package, reboot the laptop, clean the registry (via CCLenaer). Then reboot and then again by installing the latest version of the Toshiba driver page

  • Cannot activate Vista using the Portégé R500 series key

    Hello

I have a Portege R500 with Windows Vista (Business I think).
After a system crash I had to change the hard drive.
I didn't have a Toshiba Vista DVD so I reinstalled Vista from a DVD of Vista Business I found in the office.

Once a few days windows now asks for activation, in the application process for the series.

When I have the serial number on her that I found on the botton of the laptop it says is not correct figures.

What can I do? How to make toshiba Vista DVD?

    Best regards

    Domenico Ciccopiedi

    I totally agree with kody.

Serial number, placed at the bottom of the device belongs to the Vista preinstalled on your laptop.
It s version an OEM and, generally, the serial key does not work with other versions of Vista operating system.

If you want to install and use a different Vista operating system on your laptop, you will need to use the key supplied with the installation disc.

But in your case, I would order a new collection of Toshiba of the ASP or from this site:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

By the way; Vista on Toshiba Recovery DVD is already activated!

  • Satellite M60 - cannot install WLAN card

    Hello

I have a Satellite M60 - 164.i installed Windows XP Pro. I downloaded the drivers. They are working except wireless drivers. During the installation he warned is perhaps not compatible with XP, but I continued installation. In the management of drivers, he says he can find t files.
In a nutshell, I need another driver. Or it happened during installation? I tried a few times and always the same story.
    Any suggestions?

Bonus: I want to install windows vista. These drivers will work on vista?

    Thanks in advance

As far as I know that your unit has Intel 2200 GB WiFi card. Please try to install the latest driver from the Intel download page
    http://downloadfinder.Intel.com/scripts-DF-external/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=1637&lang=eng

Vista operating system is not launched by Toshiba and there is no driver for it. I put t believe that they work with vista. The drivers must be created and tested first. You can try, but there is no guarantee of functionality.
