Satellite P845t-107 - Linux kernel does not start

Hello!

Recently, I bought my first laptop from Toshiba-> Satellite P845t-107.
Unfortunately, I have a very big problem with him: none of my emergency tools work.

So I will have no chance to save the HD data when Windows is broken and I can't find a clean system viruses.
All these tools are based on Linux.

I use these tools I never had such problems with all of the dozens of computers where I had to use already in all years.

I tried to get help in the Linux forums.
They had several ideas, but none of them worked. GRUB, boots (because compatible UEFI and secure boot is disabled).

But after I selected the parameters of the kernel to start with, it gets stuck in a very early stage, without any error message.

Toshiba makes obviously something of very very different from other computer manufacturers.
So please tell me how I can make my emergency tools do work again.
Thank you!

Notting

Hello

In the BIOS, you must disable secure boot and should spend UEFI to CSM.
Then you should be able to boot from other sources.

  • Satellite L505 - 10 M - fan does not start

    I have a problem with my Satellite L505 - 10 M.

Suddenly the fan does not start over and because of this, the laptop get quickly overheated and stops. I installed Windows 7 top me, quite some time ago, and this time it was 2 weeks ago while it just happened this evening. I have not installed anything new and nor I did something special with him, he just does not start fan more.

I checked this forum, cannot find anything either, searched and could not find any problems with Linux and the fan, but not Windows (it does not start at the start of the bios either).

If anyone has a thought, a similar experience or a solution, it would be really useful

    Greetings,

    Hey Buddy,

You have installed Windows 7 Microsoft disc or Toshiba Recovery disk?

Well, if the fan doesn't start anymore, you can t a lot and I think that the fan needs to be replaced.
What you can do is load default settings in the BIOS (press F9 key in the configuration of the BIOS) and save settings. Also clean your laptop using a jet of compressed air, maybe the fan will be blocked by the dust.

If he doesn t it work s time to contact a technician for laptop. If your laptop is under warranty, the repair will be free. :)

  • Satellite A200-1 body weight does not start

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200-1BW model that frooze all to use and would not start again.
I have checked all the power drive options very well.

I have the blue AC power led on and the orange light but pc does nothing. I tried to power up without battery with AC, but always the same question.
No fans don't come on etheir. PC won't in the start-up phase, and nothing appears on the screen that is constantly empty.

I don't get the HDD 200 GB startng so I swapped it for a work of identical spare but the pc still does not start.

My only conclusions are that I have a dead motherboard or a power problem internal.

Its the real frist problem I've had with this laptop so am just checking to see if anyone out there has had the same problem or knows all the patches, I have not tried.

Yes, that sounds like a serious hardware failure.
Looks like the motherboard, GPU, or another party on the mobo may be defective.

What about RAM modules? Did you check both?
    Please do

Otherwise if there s no RAM issues then you will need a professional technician help.
At the moment I put t see any other solution you :(

  • Fan of Satellite U500 - 11 c sometimes does not start running Win 7 64 bit

    Hello

I have two Toshiba Satellite U500 - 11 c on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Sometimes, after a new start of Windows, the fans start and just run a few seconds sometimes. When this occurs, the CPU temperature gets very hot (do not know exactly how much). I found a way to return to a behavious normal just unplug the power cable and reconnect it just a second or two after.

Two laptop computers have the latest Bios and drivers of Toshiba. Somehow, it's the same behavious as under Linux.

With these experiences, I just thought that Toshiba laptop are not well properly handle ACPI Fans and tempartures. Is it really inevitable?

I hope that this feedback can help...

    Hi mate

Cooling modules are controlled by the fan which is stored in the BIOS table.
Fan table contains details and information when and how fast a fans should run.

Besides computers laptop Toshiba supports protection against overheating. This protection monitors the temperature, and if the temperature is too high, the laptop turns off automatically.

If the laptop does not turn off automatically then I suppose that the temperature is not too high

  • Satellite A500 - 1C0 - Bluetooth monitor does not start

    Hello
I noticed that a new Bluetooth monitor was released for my Satellite A500 - 1 c 0 and so I tried to use it.

First, I downloaded the Bluetooth stack and Bluetooth screen and install it. As soon as I restarted my computer loaded Windows system default Bluetooth service. I tried to manually start the monitor installed, so I tried a Bluetooth Monitor and it came, but nothing happened. Ultimately the only way to get the old dos application had to use system restore. When I restored it to the previous system I just installed Bluetooth Monitor without installing Bluetooth Stack, and there it is again. I only use Windows Bluetooth utility.

How can I disable the utility and use Bluetooth Monitor from Toshiba or I can do it by default? It does not even start.

    Thank you

I tried to download a Windows 7 recovery disk, it burned on DVD. It works, I'll get to choose where he was working to correct (I get an error) or use a Windows 7 from disc (does not work). And if I start it in safe mode I see that it stops and freezes to the file; Disk.sys

Someone at - it an idea?

    Greetings,

    Hello

And have you connected an external USB device as says the error message? If Yes, remove all USB devices and try to restart your laptop.

If you can t start in safe mode, your operating system is confusing upward and the only option to get rid of it is to reinstall Windows.

You use the preinstalled version of Windows 7 in Toshiba? If yes go to the start menu Windows by pressing the F8 button where you can select the safe mode, etc. and choose Advanced repair my computer option. Then select Toshiba HDD recovery and factory settings are restored. Also see this article on HARD drive recovery:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

If disk HARD recovery doesn't work, you need an original Toshiba recovery disc. If you didn t create this drive just order a new one here:

Hello, I extend my Satellite A100 laptop BIOS.

    You see the Toshiba logo?

Was there a power failure when you updated the BIOS?

    The laptop is L50 - A satellite - 1 9

    Hello

On your model of laptop, you can't remove battery. It is placed under the hood and it should be removed by authorized personnel only.
But your model has the force to close the holes that you can also use to reset the laptop. How it works, you can read on https://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB3C03JR0000R01.htm

  • Satellite S50-B-12Z - recovery does not start

    Hi guys.

    I have Toshiba Satellite S50-B-12Z
    I can't start the recovery.

When I press the 0 key starting system, information about recovery happens.
I answer YES to the question if I want to continue the recovery and after this system appears as normal takes just a bit longer.

What will happen? I remember I managed to enter the recovery menu once but can't remember how.

I taught maybe I deleted the partition by mistake, but partition magic shows he's still there (not used status).

Any ideas why menu recovery will not come to the top?

Hold F12 for power up to display the start menu.

If "HDD Recovery" is not found, or its load fails, this means that the recovery partition has a problem.

You can order on the site of Toshiba recovery disks.

My Satellite L355 can't join a homegroup on my home wireless network, because the PNRP service will not start. The service depends on, Peer Networking Identity Manager, PNID, starts. File missing or corupt?

    Any ideas how to fix?

    Thank you, Jack

    Hi jtorbert,

Friend of me has had the same problem and it could solve the problem by deleting this file:
    "C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\R oaming\PeerNetworking\idstore.sst".

This file has something to do with the PNRP service and after deletion it will be re-created. Generally, this service should work correctly after deleting this file.

    Hello

If the BIOS page does not appear, then it s a serious question.
Seems that the motherboard is dead.

In my opinion, a technician should check this section first, and perhaps you will need a new

  • Re: Satellite L450D-113 - black screen, does not start

Laptop will not start. Power led lights up. Fan turns for a few seconds then stops, once again spins and stop.
    HARD disk rotates.

No presentation of the screen. Nothing appears on the AC voltage ordinary.when his shown as a green light.
    I checked...
    1. open bettery and put it again after 5 min. (result: nothing comes)
    2. open bettery and direct what AC does not rise no matter what?
    3. open the hard drive and put it again after 10 min (result: Noting happens to display) also change hard drive.

Please tell me wht to do now?

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here.
Did you do something that might be responsible for this? Something like the update of the BIOS?

If I understand you well portable stays all the TIME and everything is as usual, but there is nothing on the screen. Try to connect the external display on your machine and check if something will be displayed on the external screen.

Please test first and send feedback.

  • Satellite L450D-113 - black screen, does not start

Laptop will not start. Power led lights up. Fan turns for a few seconds then stops. HARD disk rotates. No display. No JOB.
Scratches it down. Nothing appears out of the ordinary.
Searched the web. This seems to be a common problem with Toshiba laptops.
Common fix is supposed to be the power button that is held for a minute or two with battery. This does not work in this case.
I would rather not throw the laptop in the bin...

Any ideas before doing the Act, would be greatly appreciated.

    Skips

Something like this can happen on any laptop so there is nothing directly with Toshiba or any other laptop manufacturer.
Sometimes this kind of behavior can occur after unsuccessfully BIOS updated. Have you can be made to update the BIOS or anything that may be responsible for this?

I can't say for sure, but somehow I think the BIOS is screwed.
