Satellite P850 - click right on the touchpad, acting as a left click

My son just bought a Satellite phone, P850, to use for games and the work of the school and has noticed a problem with the behavior of the touchpad.

When using the touchpad, if you have a finger in the area of the touchpad used for moving the mouse and then try to click the right button of the mouse, the laptop will behave as if you clicked the left button of the mouse. If you click the right mouse button when you touch the area of mouse movement, it behaves properly.

We have tried to change various parameters of the touchpad, but have not been able to correct this problem. We have also updated the drivers for the touchpad to the latest version from the Web of Synaptics site, but the problem persists.

Is there a particular driver or which gives the correct behavior of the right mouse button all still touch the touchpad with the other finger?

As I m not wrong not this laptop supports a touchpad with additional features such as + gesture (multi-touch) + and + hinge + type
So this isn't a common touchpad located on other portable computers.

I guess that all this touchpad features can be enabled / disabled and controlled in
+ Control Panel-> mouse-> device-> settings settings tab.

  • Satellite L750 - how scrolling with the touchpad?

I have a Satellite L750 (my first laptop and first touchpad) running Windows 7. I put the mouse scrolling to 1 line at a time, but every time I place the pointer on the right scroll bar arrow down (and press the left button or press on) the screen pops so that the scroll bar is at the bottom. I want the screen to "inch" down slowly as if I was using a mouse wheel.

Yes, I know that the answer is probably very simple, so those people who are itching to answer don't forget I'm a 'newbie' to touchpad.

    Concerning

    Hey,.

You can scroll with the touchpad on the right side of it. Just move your finger upward or down on the right side of the touchpad and you can scroll with this gesture. It of not complicated and very easy.
In addition, these basic operations are described in the user manual and I recommend reading. ;)

If you are not familiar with the touch pad, you can also connect an external USB mouse (mouse even as on a desktop computer). These external mice are cheap and you don't need a driver for it. Just connect it to a USB port and it of ready to use :)

  • where are the action buttons left and right on the touchpad on HP ENVY 17 Quad TouchSmart t

My new mobile Quad TouchSmart HP ENVY 17 t has a touch pad, but no action left or right buttons.  How can I simulate their action.  Apparently a single tap simulates a left click, but how to do a right click?  How to drag a cell in a worksheet (to copy) using the touchpad?  I may end up using a mouse.

I believe that this model has a ClickPad, which has no buttons left/right click separate but has left/right click zones where the buttons would normally be. For more information, see use and configure the ClickPad .

  • Satellite A300-1EG: problem with the touchpad after installing Windows 7

    Hello!

I had a problem with my touchpad since I installed Windows 7 (64-bit version) on my laptop (Toshiba) A300-1EG.

I tried many different solutions to this problem.
I checked the alignment of the touchpad (be it on) in the BIOS, I tried to install several drivers (on a site of Synaptics, automatically by Windows) and none of these work. Of course, I tried FN + F9 key combination.
When I check the alignment of the touchpad in the Control Panel, everything seems fine. It is written, that "device working properly.

I have Toshiba Software, what may be the cause of the problem?
But I have no idea where I can find something.

    I'd appreciate any help.

I hope to be understandable - English is not my mother tongue :) Thank you very much in advance for any ideas. :)

    Hi mate

I'm not quite sure what problem you have but you should first try to install the necessary drivers touchpad m.
Maybe you used the wrong driver in the past

So Sat A300-1EG belongs to the series of PSAG4E.
The European driver Toshiba page does not provide a special touchpad driver for Win 7 for this device.

But I noticed that Win 7 64 bit drivers touchpad (Alps & Synaptics) for Satellite L500 PSLS3E series is released on the European driver page.
Try both drivers Touch Pad for this device and test it!

  • Satellite A300 - how to activate the touchpad?

    Hello

I accidentally disabled the touchpad on my satellite A300. Can someone tell me how to re - activate it please.

    Hello

Press Fn + F9 to turn it on.

  • Satellite A100-033: I disabled the touchpad and now Fn + F9 won't allow

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-033 running Vista Home Basic. I use especially the laptop as a desktop replacement, and I do not like use the touchpad I disabled it, and instead, I use an external mouse via a USB port.

I don't know if I disabled the touch pad by pressing Fn + F9 or by any other means (if it was by some other means that I forgot what it was). Recently, I wanted to re-enable the touchpad so that I could use the laptop outside the home. However, I found that by pressing Fn and F9 don't re - not allow the touchpad and I now can't use the touch pad at all.

If I go into the properties of the mouse (in Control Panel), that tells me that my synaptics pointing device is enabled. If I go into Device Manager and look at 'mouse', I thought that my touchpad works properly.

All this makes me suspect that the problem is not a hardware failure, but I changed a few settings, so that my touchpad is permanently disabled until I change the setting back to its original state.

    Help!

    Hello

One of the solutions would be a system restore you could try to set the operating system to the point of time at the beginning. Perhaps that would help reactivate the touchpad.

Conversely, you can try to reinstall the drivers for the Touchpad firstly I would recommend removing it from the Device Manager and then after restarting, you can try reinstalling the drivers downloaded!

I would appreciate any comments from you

    Good bye

    Thank you.

    Lööw salvation,

I'm sure that it of possible to replace the touchpad buttons because you can replace everything on a laptop. But I think that it s a little trickier because you must remove a lot of pieces and that's not easy.

You should ask an authorized service provider guys can order the new spare part for you and exchange it. Just write an email, for example, to get in touch with them.

You can find a list of aspic here:

  • Satellite C850-1F2 - cannot activate the touchpad

    Hello

Recently, I installed Windows 7 on my C850-1F2. For the installation to finish, I had to disable all unnecessary devices in the BIOS, including the internal pointing device/keyboard. After that, the installation went well and I subsequently installed all drivers (downloaded from Toshiba) manually correspondents.

All devices can be installed and work properly - with the exception of the touchpad.
If I re-enable the touchpad in the BIOS, Windows will not start. It just stops at 'Starting Windows' screen - not the gel (continuous loop animation), it will not simply continue. Starting in safe mode, it will also stop after loading all the drivers. I've had the laptop that works all night to see if I was just being too impatient, but nothing helps.

Also, the system does not detect the touchpad. Manager devices displays only the USB mouse, that I have connected or anything. When you access the parameters of 'Mouse', the system will first ask me if I want to uninstall the Synaptics drivers. I have thus tried to reinstall the Toshiba and the generic Synaptics driver but no touchpad.

If I use FN + F5 to activate the touchpad (while it is already disabled in the BIOS), I simply disable the keyboard. The touchpad does not work. However, I have to disable it again, then put the laptop to sleep and it wakes again so that the keyboard works again.
Furthermore, if I reboot after using the fn + f5, again, the touchpad is enabled in the BIOS and Windows does not start.

I'm really confused at this point. What Miss me?

    > For the installation to finish, I had to disable all unnecessary devices in the BIOS, including the internal pointing device/keyboard.
I installed Win7 several times but I never heard of something like this and I've always installed when moved the BIOS default settings so I put t understand this theory and does not understand why you did that.

In any case, if nothing works well I highly recommend to upgrade the BIOS to the default settings and then install the clean version of Win7. I hope you are using Microsoft original installation disc and not some self made things.

I put t think that there is a magic trick that can solve your problem.

  • Satellite Pro 105-S9722 - why the touchpad does not work when it is the cover up?

whenever I hit the touchpad icon to light up the touchpad, it won't work, only when it is off...

    Hello

I m afraid. I put t understand what you want to make :(
You want to enable the touchpad or what? Thanks for posting more details

You can enable and disable the touchpad with FN + F9 key
If you want to change some settings for the touchpad, so I would recommend getting into the mouse option in the control panel.
That could be the touchpad properties.
In the properties, you should be able to find the needed touchpad settings.

  • Satellite A300D - how to activate the touchpad?

Hello world. I have a problem.

When I used XP I turned off touchpad while I use the mouse. So I decided to install Win Vista and there is a problem. I forgot to activate it before reinstaling. This is why my touchpad does not work. The drivers are fine and I tried to reinstall, but it did not help. Everything works fine except that I can't turn on the touchpad.

Any ideas how to do this?

    Thanks in advance

Have you installed Vista using Toshiba DVD upgraders?
The mouse works if you use an external mouse?

When you install Vista with the recovery image you factory again and touchpad is not disabled by default. Check the FN + F9 option and do not forget the touchpad is not disabled.

  • Satellite Pro A300 - I get the 'Windows search' if I left click on any folder

I just bought a Satellite Pro A300 and it downgraded to Windows XP SP3.

When I click the icon of any folder on my hard drive I got the "Windows Search" window instead of the folder. When I right click on any folder icon, the first item on the menu (in bold) is "search".

How can I change the order of these items in menu so as 'Open' is the first element?

Delete (Control Panel Add / Remove Programs) the installation of Windows Search without affecting any software I have loaded?

Looking for Windows installation installed the likely cause of my problem?

    Thank you

    Murray

    Just solved my problem:

    1. the order of the items in the context menu of files can be changed by updating actions for file types specified in the Folder Options Menu. Select Folder Options + of + the + Tools + menu of any folder, select + File Types + and scroll to the bottom for * file *. Click on * advanced * then * New * and add * open * with * Explorer * as the program to use. Click on * OK * and * Close * and bingo! Appears in the order of the menu shortcut in XP is open before you search, but in XP Pro followed research of Open / Explore.

    2. the utility Windows search can be deleted without problem despite the warning launched - Microsoft Web site indicates the warning is simply a generic warning and it is highly unlikely that removal will affect all software installed since the loading search utility.

    3. the Windows Search utility is NOT the cause of this problem.

Trust that the other could save hours of research that I had to do to find this solution...

  • Satellite P850 - where to get the Toshiba Blu - ray player?

    Hello

Recently, I reformatted my p850/049 for windows 7. I tried to install the drive Blu - Ray Toshiba V1.0.3.196A, the file did not work at all and when I tried to install it manually "can't find drive in your system. Installation interrupted. On the download page, it is listed as a patch, but where can I find the original file? I have SP1 Windows 7 pro 64-bit, all date of May 24, 2013

I found V1.0.5.110 of the American version of the Toshiba support site and this installed and play DVDs and it tries to open a Blu - Ray player, but it gets stuck on a white screen and do not play or let me do anything like scene jump or go to the menu. There is no error message complaining about the region or corrupted files or anything it just goes to a blank screen, with controls that are available, but they do nothing. As I said dvd works perfectly, just not blu - ray.

The drive itself seems to work normally on this screen and when you try to click the button it comes up with a circle with a line through it when you try to click on the buttons as a dvd drive normal if you tried to jump by the warnings of copyright and the index of time is always a small number that is 25 seconds or more. Like he's trying to play a small segment as the section of the copyright or something.

I tried a number of different Blu - ray discs, and none of them work. I downloaded a trial of another program of Blu - ray player and it plays Blu - Ray still those who do not work on the Toshiba drive (for the hardware works), so I'm looking for a free one that works without a watermark on the screen. It seems silly as I hoped my machine READING BLU - RAY without me having to buy software.

    Any help would be appreciated

    > I tried to install the drive Blu - Ray Toshiba V1.0.3.196A, the file did not work at all and when I tried to install it manually "can't find drive in your system. Installation interrupted.

Yes, it is a patch file and you can not install this without a full version installed.

But I found on the page of the Australian driver Toshiba Toshiba Video Player 5.0.0.16 - A
Have you tried to install this application?

On the other hand, I could recommend the use of the freeware such as VLC Player software.
It's really great and in my opinion the best player you can get for free.
