Satellite P855-307 will not play new Blu - ray discs

I have a Satellite P855-307, running Windows 7 64 bit and I bought several new Blu - ray movies/shows, only to have the Blu - ray player and Blu - ray player absolutely refuse to play them.

Examples of not playing: (all are discs region B or free disks in the region)

TRUE DETECTIVE (HBO)
THOR: THE WORLD OF DARKNESS (MARVEL)
I HAVE FRANKENSTEIN (LIONSGATE)
MAN OF STEEL (WB)
RIDDICK (UNIVERSAL)

I played a few recent Blu - ray discs, which are not produced by the Hollywood studios - so the hardware itself works, and in all cases the DEVICE MANAGER shows no fault for the PIONEER BDC-TD04S.

Windows 7 64-bit is updated.
P855-307 BIOS is up to date.
NVIDIA display driver is up to date.

Graphics driver on the Toshiba site is old and IBM 4000 driver download is not allowed to go forward, telling me to download Toshiba during execution of the executable.

Drive Blu - ray from Toshiba is updated (1.05.207)

Are you using the original recovery image (original Win7 64 bit) that you got with your laptop?

I mean that original preinstalled OS contains all print drivers and software BD so avoid problems BD movies.

I use the Satellite P500 with original recovery image and there is no problem watching preinstalled original BD WinDVD BD player.

The drive reads the disc but it will not play the movie, which will play on a PS3. The film is Avatar and a disc is legitimate. My thought was that it would be that the film is Full HD, but may display show only 720 p or 1080i.

  • Satellite P855-307 is not play the latest Blu - ray discs

The Toshiba Blu - ray disc player is is more grateful or play the Hollywood movie Blu - ray discs.

The recent Hollywood film set of Blu - ray discs in both my Pioneer HDD-Recorder/Blu-ray player and play on my PS3, it is why blu - ray discs are fine.

Drive Blu - ray on the satellite p855 works so I can play Blu - ray movies non-Hollywood on my Satellite P855 (e.g. "in the shadow of the Moon") as well.

This also indicates that the Toshiba Blu - ray disc player software can work, so something else is preventing the operation.

It seems you have a problem to play only some specific BD discs.

I m not quite sure that your problem, but from my point of view it may be a problem of firmware of BD player. Unfortunately, Toshiba driver page does not only updates the firmware for the BD drive so will not be able to try a firmware update.

I put t think there is a problem with the playback software (Toshiba Blu - ray disc player) because it seems that you are already using the last available Toshiba Blu - ray Disc version 1.0.5.207 player. If the software is already up-to-date.

However, the freeware VLC player software/tools are supported BD disks too and play almost all formats and file standards.
Recommend you test just to see if the problem still occurs even by using such usefulness of these tools.

    Hello

If you use HP MediaSmart DVD to read Blu - ray disc, try the following.

HP now provides a version of PowerDVD 10 Cyberlinks which seems to be a better solution.  Download the latest installer for it on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp56501-57000/sp56904.exe

Once the download is complete, open windows control panel, open programs and features, make a right click the entry for HP MediaSmart DVD and select uninstall - when this process is complete, restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, open your downloads folder and double-click Setup for PowerDVD 10 start the installation.  Once this done, see if your Blu - ray disc now plays OK.

  • How can I play a Blu - ray disc

    Original title:?

How can I play a blu - ray disc

You need key components to play a Blu - ray disc. You need a Blu - ray drive for your computer, which can be purchased in electronic stores, if your computer did not come with one. You also need the Blu - ray playback software. Personally, I use Cyberlink PowerDVD as my go - to for playback of Blu - ray discs on my own computer, but there are a handful of other solutions. The reason main I like Cyberlink is that after having tried a variety of other solutions, he was the one who seemed to be most reliable and use fewer computer resources during playback. Here's a more detailed explanation of How to play Blu-ray discs on Windows.

  • Software disc drive Blu - Ray doesn't play new Blu - Ray!

Rather disappointed with the Blu - Ray drive at this moment!

My machine is a Qosmio X 870, running under Windows 7 64-bit. It comes with the Blu - Ray disc player, which so far I've used with my previous purchase - the next Star Trek generation season 2, which presents - and continues--work very well.

However, the season 3 Blu-Rays that are just out, do any work! As far as I know, the discs are not defective - they are recognized, and the structure of the file is there. I tried multiple disks, but all simply freeze them the player when he tries to load them. The screen is black (flickers sometimes) and unresponsive. There is no error message. As far as I know, this isn't a hardware problem - disks are fine and the laptop drive can play the old blu - ray without problem.

    However, these news do nothing.

    * Solved * -after a lot of searching around, managed to find a software update for the player on the Australian Toshiba site (why doesn't the European site list the Bluray Player among the software updates?).

  • Satellite L50D-B013 will not play sound

I bought my Toshiba Satellite L50D-B013 almost 2 weeks, playing very well, all of a sudden yesterday, everything I play, the sound does not work. The videos play, just without the sound. I have not changed the settings, I did not all external chips etc. I ran a virus check to see if it was originally but didn't come with anything. I noticed that he will play however through headphones!

Can someone help me please? Or I need to get to?

    Thanks in advance.

First of all, you should check if the speakers are set as default device.
How? Go to control panel of-> sound-> playback device and select speakers as default device.

Also, I guess that the Realtek HD audio Manager is available in the Panel.
Go to start > Control Panel > hardware and sound > Realtek HD Audio Manager

Now click on the yellow folder that appears in the upper right corner and make sure that the option disable face detection isn't checked. The 2nd option enable auto pop dialog box should be checked and enabled.

Also click on advanced settings of the device and make sure that this option to Mute the device output isn't checked.

  • Satellite 1400 DVD will not play DVD

    Hello

After cleaning the notebook of the cousin of my fiancee, who had a number of viruses, the DVD player will play is no longer the DVD (it will play data CD, however, can read data DVD as well, but I don't have any of those). When I put a movie disc, it will try and try to read it, and in the end, he gave up. If I click on the drive again, it asks me to put it on a disc.

I tried all sorts of things to fix. The DVD-Rom is a Hitachi GDR-8081n. I uninstalled and let Windows detect it again, I uninstalled the secondary IDE channel is on, to ensure implementation in DMA mode (it was in PIO), no effect. I loaded the latest version of WinDVD, no luck. I uninstalled WinDVD and installed PowerDVD, no effect. I manually deleted cdrom.sys and had put Windows back, without result. I found an update of the firmware somewhere, but unfortunately it simply does not work (it calls for the CD/DVD is not actually present).

Someone had a similar problem and figured out what to do? Search online for those who have had similar problems with other DVDs, the usual assumption is that it is a hardware failure. It is quite possible that this is the case, I guess, but it would really be a coincidence for making it happen the same day wherever I tried to wipe the drive, so I am doubtful.

Any assistance that may be provided is much appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi Elio,

From your description of the problem, I think that your DVD player has a problem with the laser. IN a combi laser scanner uses two different frequencies, one for CD and one for DVD.

I suspect that the frequency of DVD is not working properly. The fact that the player to repeatedly try to read a DVD when you insert one indicates to me that the software works correctly, but the laser is not able to focus properly on the DVD.

Unfortunately, your only real option is to consult an authorized Service Agent or replace the drive yourself if it is the least expensive option.

    Best wishes

  • HD DVD on the Satellite X 200 - will not play with vista 64-bit

I installed vista 64 bit on my x 200, thought I had everything working, but when I went to install the Toshiba HD DVD software, I get a message saying: it cannot be installed on this computer. I tried some third party decoders, and none of them has managed to read HD DVD!

    All ideas

    See you soon

    Jim

As already said and mentioned by Sandors Toshiba software which can be downloaded from the Toshiba page supports only the 32-bit version of Windows.
You cannot install it on 64 bit OS.

In addition, the HD DVD drive that is published on the page is only the updated version.
You will need the Toshiba HD DVD player, which is part of the image of Toshiba, if you want to install the update of the page.
