Satellite Pro A60: ATI Driver update?

Had some problems, first was the display went mode without failure and the second my daughter said it came with a fatel error message. However, I rebooted and it came with the usual send message from microsoft error report, which is essentially an update to the ATI Graghics driver, but the link on the microsoft page does not work.

Then I went on the Web site of ATI Technologies Inc. and the drivers download page, but I'm not sure of that that I should go to.

The A60 runs Windows Home Edition and looking at control panel > maintenance > system > drivers seems to have ATI RS200/RS200M/RS250M Accelerated Graphics Port.
ATI 01/06/2004
Version 5.1.2196.1009

When selecting the site of ATI, that is what I want? Radeon?

The recovery disc, seeing if I could update the driver from there, comes to tell version differs currently installed, which is what you expect.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

By the way, I have also just installed an another Crutial 512 MB of memory in the expansion slot, but has nothing to do with the ATI issue that took place before that I installed RAM (now takes 1 minute and 20 seconds to restart ~ Yes)

Hello

Sorry, but I didn t understand what kind of problem you have, but if you have problems with the display driver, enter the properties of the graphic adapter and remove the other preinstalled. After having done that reboot the computer and install the driver you can download on the download page of Toshiba under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

You will find some version of 6.14.10.6430 ATI display driver.

  • White screen after the Satellite Pro P200 display driver update

I installed the latest display driver ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600 (8.432, on the site of Toshiba through Tempo) on my Satellite Pro P200 yesterday. Reboot, everything seems good as much as the screen "Please wait...". "Windows Vista professional, but instead of showing the page of connection I get an empty screen (with a mouse cursor that moves around as usual). All I can do at this point is to be able to, and I'm running out of ideas on how to move forward.

    Things I've tried:
    # start in safe mode, the video resolution or last known good configuration, result the same screen empty.
    # connect to the system using remote desktop (to disable the driver) is not possible because the system has not yet loaded the network drivers.
    # I can't go back to a restore point because Vista can't find (I did a manual after you install updates windows over a couple of days).
I can run a system command line options of recovery and prefer to use it to disable the driver + if + I knew how before the use of the more radical options.

A search on the web (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ati+catalyst+vista+blank+screen&hl=en&sa= N) reveals that this has happened on a wide range of laptops with
previous versions of the driver, but none of the links I've looked at to give a solution which does not exist for me.

I agree with Hairyfool, you who should solve problems using an external display. If no image appears, then something with the material might be.

  • Satellite Pro A60 - HARD drive not detected by BIOS

    Hi all!
I received a Pro (PSA65E) Satellite A60 for free... because it has a bug! But I want to fix it and use it.
Problem is that the HARD drive is not recognized by the BIOS. Strange enough, it is possible to format during the initial phase of an installation of the OS from scratch (I tried with Win XP and Win 2000), but facilities do not proceed any further because it won't start HD. If I try to install a time shild, he can't find some data already present in the HD and gives warnongs... which means that it is also possible to write to the disk.
The BIOS screen shows: no drive.
CD-ROM drive is OK, shown as secondary.
I also look in the forums to nothing does not.
    Actions taken so far:
    * flashed the BIOS, now at version 1.90
    * Replaced the original HD (Toshiba, 40 GB) known to be good, by another more small (Toshiba, 30 GB)
    * Tried to remove the drive CD and checked BIOS recognizes, it has been removed and recognized it even when delivered. The same manoeuvre with the HD does not change the BIOS screen: he says still 'no drive '.
    * Tried with the BACK of Partition Magic version: it says "no disk found. Same thing with the backup came with the PC disks.
Tried other stuff found in Fora them: remove all the power sorce, let the PC for a few minutes... open and checked for visible problems in the area of the disc HARD and so on.
    Any suggestion would be appreciated!

  • Satellite L500-22R - ATI driver update

Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite L500-22R with an ATI Mobiliti Radeon HD 5145.

I want to install new drivers for my card, but Toshiba doesn´t upgrade the driver from 2009 (version 8.653.0.0) and the official driver ATI is 13.1. The problem is that I can install page AMD because there is a problem of compatibility with the hardware.

Can someone help me? I want to upgrade my version of driver and I can´t understand this situation.

    Hello

Here is a page AMD providing this info:
    http://support.AMD.com/us/KbArticles/pages/AMDCatalystSoftwareSuiteVersion131.aspx

+ The following books * are not compatible * with this version: +.
+ All laptops launched after this driver release +.
+ Computers laptop Toshiba (please contact the laptop OEM for support of the drivers for these notebooks) +.
+ Computers laptops Sony VAIO (please contact the laptop OEM for support of the drivers for these notebooks) +.
+ Portable Panasonic (please contact the laptop OEM for support of the drivers for these notebooks) +.

In some cases its possible to install these drivers, but you will have to manually do it from Device Manager. There, you have to click on the graphics card, choose the Advanced installation procedure which helps you to point to the folder of the driver that you downloaded from the page of AMD. The driver folder must contain the dll and ini files. These files are required for the update of the driver.

    Thanks, Guy

    Hey Buddy

To be honest I don t understand why you react so panicly

You have a laptop that has a pre-installed Vista OS.
The fact is that this OS Vista was preinstalled on your laptop computer and for several days/weeks, Microsoft has published a large number of updates and so Vista downloaded and installed updates. But don t wonder about other updates. From time to time you will receive these patches! This is a common behavior of the OS.

    With regard to the Tempro tool;
This tool informs you about new drivers available, tools or utilities on the Toshiba page.
To be honest I wouldn t use it. Usually, it's really not important what and when a pilot a tool was released if your laptop runs without problem. I'm always this recommendation; never change a running system.

Hope I could make a clarification.

    Good bye

I assume you mean on installation using the advanced through the Device Manager.
    It's easy.

You must download the driver files that you want to use/install. Unzip the file somewhere on the desktop.
Then go to Device Manager, choose graphics card, click Refresh, and then choose option 2 that allows you to search the drivers stored on the HARD drive.

Now, you will get an option to point to the folder of the driver. You must point to the folder of the driver that you have unpacked above.

  • Need latest driver for ATI Radeon 7000 igp - Satellite Pro A60 mobility

Please let me know which ati driver to d/l for my laptop satellite pro a60 en please.

How can I find out what bios version I have installed and which is the latest relevant version for me and windows xp.

    Many thanks steve

    Hi Steven,

You can access the last display on the web site of Toshiba driver. Just click on the tab Support & downloads (Download Files) and then enter the details of your laptop. You can select all drivers or just the display drivers.

You can find out what version of BIOS you have by entering the BIOS during the initial power on the process. Just press the ESC key when the TOSHIBA logo appears, and then press F2 to enter the BIOS configuration panels. Make sure you do not make changes to the BIOS settings unless you really want to. :-) As with the details of the driver, you can access the latest version of the BIOS for notebook on the Web from Toshiba-> Support site @ downloads-> update your BIOS, then just enter the details of your laptop.

    Kind regards

  • ATI error and no windows - Satellite Pro A60

    Hello

When I start my computer, I get a blue error screen c0000415
A quick google reveals that this is one of these: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832324

"So what are you bothering? I hear you cry - the problem I have is, in getting this error of the other (also the ATI card based) I stuck my red disc in and erased everything - including the windows... and CFLA error occurs before windows installs and SafeMode (-that worked perfectly before) does not work because windows is not installed!

    Oh the fun.

"I think it's a hardware error" - Yes so don't I... However, before the reinstall and get it back, I could work to the computer in safe mode and videos played very well with the resolution and full color. Am I missing the point if I think a video work is an indicator of a working video card?

I admit that I'm perplexed indeed. I'll try to dig up an old Windows 98 drive, but I don't know how much this will help, because the only copy of XP I have is on the recovery disk... [Return to step 1]

Any suggestions much appreciated - thanks in advance...

    [it's a satellite pro A60 w / 256 +?] RAM, processor celeron 2.8 Ghz, ATI Mobility Radeon 7000 etc...]

    Hello

As suggested in document of Microsoft this problem can occur if an ATI Radeon 7200 graphics card has been installed on your computer and the driver that is supplied with this adapter may not work correctly with Windows XP.
The installation of SP2 should help.

This statement of Ms. says it all! It of not a hardware problem but it is a compatibility issue with Windows XP (without SP2) and the driver radeon ATI 7200.

You should try to get an original CD of Windows XP with or without SP2.
The software callednLiteallows you to create a Windows clean boot CD and add the patches MS and service packs for this CD.

Then, you can try to boot this CD and after installing the OS, you need to update or change the graphics driver!

    Hi Vladimir,.

I suspect that your BIOS is damaged when your A60 turns off. Unfortunately, this means you A60 are a failure now his POSITION leading to generate failure codes series.

As Felix said codes tells the Toshiba Service Agent exactly what the problem is so you will need to contact them for assistance.

    Hello

Why you need to update the BIOS?
I doubt that XP installation says that you need to update.

Normally the update of the BIOS is a bit risky and must be that if she of really necessary. In addition the update of the BIOS can only be done from Windows. There is no DOS version, they available only authorized for service providers.
