Last week Toshiba touchscreen developed vertical lines of the bleeding and I got error message "Windows XP cannot start because of the missing or damaged driver isapnp.sys. I tried using the recovery disk, but it loads OK, but it fails to make a difference. Hard drive seems to work OK as slave to another computer.

No matter what wil suggestions appreciated!

    Hello guys!

I am facing strange problems with one of my two A60s. I just upgraded two of them with 1024 MB of RAM the same. One works perfectly, but the other will show me only 410 MBs in Windows. The BIOS indicates the correct size. I changed the RAM from one to the other, but this strange error is always present. The version of the BIOS has been updated to 1.90 and has Windows XP SP2.

Do you have any suggestions or ideas? Is there an easy way to put the management of RAM in Windows?

    Thank you in advance!

    Ralf

    It s very strange.
I found that an additional Satellite Pro A60 info has been delivered with a different hardware configuration.
Some A60 Pro comes with an internal memory of 512 MB and others with only 256 MB internal memory.
In addition, the internal memory modules cannot be deleted and there is only one slot for memory upgrade.

But I put t know why the OS shows only 410 MB

Oh, I forgot to mention that the graphics card, also use the part of the main memory and, therefore, the operating system of shared memory could indicates a value of different memory.

    Hello

In order to access the BIOS please press F2, then ESC.
This should load the BIOS and you can change the boot order there.

In addition, you can press F12 at the beginning.
This will allow the menu on the screen where you can choose the STRANGE as a source of start-up.

But are you able to boot from another CD?
The CD/DVD drive is unable to read the disc, and therefore the boot process fails

You could also burn this disc Win XP on another CD and could use the new disk to the start I did with my old laptop because the CD/DVD drive didn't read the old CD.

This application is not known to me, but I think you should check the application developer / support manufacturer page how to install this software...

  • Re: Satellite Pro U400 - Windows could not start, how to recover?

I hope this is the right forum to display this property (if not, please let me know where I should post this) and nude w / a beginner like me. Any help or direction will be appreciated.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro U400-160 is more than a year. I have not used a lot lately, because I usually use my netbook computer for day to day stuff, but the Toshiba contains some files I want to see lost. That's the message that came when I turned on my laptop for the last time:

"Unable to start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
    To solve the problem:
    1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart the computer.
    2. choose your language settings, and then click Next.
    3. click on "repair your computer".

If you do not have the disk, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance

    File: \Boot\BCD
    Status: 0xc000000f
Info: An error occurred trying to read the boot configuration data. "

Usually, I store all my software as a whole but I recently changed from home and for the life of me, I can't find the Toshiba recovery system disk. Even if I did, however, which would mean losing all files on my computer?
My question is, is there a way to fix this without losing all data? Should I first try to save the data somehow and then solve the problem? And finally, how to solve this problem with/without the recovery CD?

Thanks in advance. Any help will be MUCH appreciated.
PS. This look is like a virus? What is a windows update that has corrupted some files?

    Hi monstarika,

You can access the Windows Advanced Boot menu and boot into safe mode?
If so try also to start the recovery of HARD drive if you choose fix my computer. If the operating system preinstalled by Toshiba is still installed, you can use this feature.

If this work of t doesn't and you don t have the recovery disc, you can order directly in an enw one of Toshiba. That s no problem because you can order it online here:

  • Satellite Pro P300-19 q - cannot start with a new memory

So, I want to add 2 GB of RAM to 2 GB existing. I use Windows 7 64-bit. In the BIOS, I see 4 GB of memory, but windows won't start.

When removing the old memory and leaving the new, the computer isn't even strats. Some info:
    Old memory - Samsung M4 70T5663QZ3-CF7 2 GB DDR2 - 800 DDR2 SDRAM (6-6-6-18 @ 400 MHz) (5-5-5-15 @ 333 MHz) (4-4-4-12 @ 266 MHz)
    New memory - Spectek DDR2 2 GB PC6400 800 MHz 200 pin

So, what's the problem? And what can I do?
    Thank you

    Hello

Theoretically, it should be possible to use 4 GB in this notebook.

The new RAM is the manufacturing of Spectek. This production does not for me. For me, looks not dear noname module.

I always use Kingston modules to upgrade my laptop. I've never had any problems with these modules, so you should try it to.
I think that the new module isn't compatible with your laptop.

  • Satellite Pro A60, keeps returning to start towards the top of the screen and wont start

My A60 PC refuses to boot.

It was working fine when a blue screen came with random lines streaming to the bottom of the screen, the style of the matrix, and then he stopped. When I try to turn it on, turns on the screen "in touch with tomorrow", but the images and the text are... kind of distorted pixelated, and I know it's not a flaw with the monitor.
A second or two later, the screen comes up asking me if I want to start... ' Safe mode ' "Safe Mode with network" 'know last Configuration... '. "etc. No matter which option to choose, the screen just white out for a few seconds, then returns to the distorted "in touch with tomorrow" screen and everything starts all over again.

I tried to remove the battery, to no avail... I thought that always worked with electronics!
I have all the important files saved on a USB key, so solutions that involve losing the data very well.
    Thank you!

    Hello

How do you know that it is not defect with monitor? Have you tried testing with external monitor?

Anyway, if you can't boot your laptop select Safe mode the best solution for me is to make the clean OS install. Your important files are backed up and you don't have to be worried about losing important information.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - Windows does not start

Silly person I am, and being computer illiterate I turned off my laptop while it was downloading updates.
Now when I turn it on it shows a black screen with 2 boot options.
    1 to start repair/restore mode,
1 to start windows normally but does not work.

I made the recovery discs after that I bought the laptop, but I am wary about its use.
Although I don't do a lot of work that needs to save, I only surf the net and make emails.

There are other safer options for marketing?

    Hello

If you have any important data on the HARD drive you can use the recovery disk to reinstall the OS again and set up the device to the factory settings.
The recovery disc will format the HARD drive and erase everything from the HARD drive.
The installation process does not take long, you need to boot from the recovery disk and having to follow the instructions on the screen. All that s!

I'd be inclined to return your laptop to an authorized Service Agent Toshiba. The OEM software should not require all the updated drivers at this early stage of his life, and the unit will be well within its warranty period.

The closer your repairman details can be found on the Toshiba site.

  • How to reformat my Satellite Pro A60

    Hello world.

I have a very old laptop (Satellite Pro A60) and have just started to use again (will have to buy a new one soon), but this 'thing' is incredibly slow. I want to just reformat the drive, but I am at a loss how to do. It was in fact the portable parents first if I do not have the original XP disc.

How can I do this? Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

If you wish to format HDD books, then you will need to use an operating system.

Usually, the laptop came with the Toshiba Recovery CD.
This recovery CD contains the OS, drivers, tools and additional software.

You must simply boot from this CD (recovery CD) or Microsoft Windows CD and the operating system install.

    That s it!

  • Cannot start WXP installed on my Satellite Pro A60

    Hello

I just got a Satellite Pro A60 of second hand. He had installed xp pro, but I did have no password. , so I formatted the drive and made two partitions. There are 30 GB and the other approximately 7 GB.

I tried to install a WXP Pro copy that has worked for me before, but he would not complete the installation. Now, I have a Toshiba Recovery disk. When I use the recovery CD, the installation goes fine, but when its full and restarts, the laptop does not start in Windows.

He comes to Toshiba screen twice then WXP logo appears for a moment about 10 seconds or more, then go back to the f8 screen. Last time, he said it could be due to a hardware change with these lists of 'safe mode' options, safe mode with command prompt mode implementation network, security, last known good configuration. I tried all the but still cannot boot into windows.

The hard drive has the files I used l-soft active@killdisk unerasor tools, change password and partition Viewer, I could see the file system of windows etc. Laptop has 512 MB RAM, 40 GB drive HARD, Celeron.

I just updated the bios to V1.90 by CD-ROM. Please can someone help me?
    Thank you

    Hello

You have installed the operating system from the recovery CD Toshiba but have you used the original Toshiba comes with this laptop recovery CD?

The BSOD appears mainly due to hardware failure or the software flaw serious
The Toshiba Recovery CD contains all the drivers needed and tools, but if you use a recovery CD badly the pre-installed drivers can cause the error and BSOD could appears.

However if some hardware like the memory module or the graphics card is damaged the BSOD are included also.

  • Satellite Pro A60-832: sometimes the OS starts without sound and modem

    Hello

I have a problem with my Satellite Pro A60-832. Everything works perfectly, but sometimes my system starts without sound. When this happends, modem also does not work. After reboot, everything works well again. I integrate Windows XP Pro SP2, but the same thing was happening with the original Windows XP Pro SP1 provided in the Toshiba Recovery CD.
    Any ideas?

    Sorry for my bad English.

As mentioned, a high temperature might be responsible for these drop-outs, but I n t think that there is a problem in your case.
I think that the temperature cannot be very high immediately after the start of the laptop.

In case I would recommend comparing the BIOS installed on the unit you with available on the Toshiba page BIOS.
If there is a new version of the BIOS so you can try to update.
But be sure you use the good BIOS and the proper procedure.

  • ATI error and no windows - Satellite Pro A60

    Hello

When I start my computer, I get a blue error screen c0000415
A quick google reveals that this is one of these: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832324

"So what are you bothering? I hear you cry - the problem I have is, in getting this error of the other (also the ATI card based) I stuck my red disc in and erased everything - including the windows... and CFLA error occurs before windows installs and SafeMode (-that worked perfectly before) does not work because windows is not installed!

    Oh the fun.

"I think it's a hardware error" - Yes so don't I... However, before the reinstall and get it back, I could work to the computer in safe mode and videos played very well with the resolution and full color. Am I missing the point if I think a video work is an indicator of a working video card?

I admit that I'm perplexed indeed. I'll try to dig up an old Windows 98 drive, but I don't know how much this will help, because the only copy of XP I have is on the recovery disk... [Return to step 1]

Any suggestions much appreciated - thanks in advance...

    [it's a satellite pro A60 w / 256 +?] RAM, processor celeron 2.8 Ghz, ATI Mobility Radeon 7000 etc...]

    Hello

As suggested in document of Microsoft this problem can occur if an ATI Radeon 7200 graphics card has been installed on your computer and the driver that is supplied with this adapter may not work correctly with Windows XP.
The installation of SP2 should help.

This statement of Ms. says it all! It of not a hardware problem but it is a compatibility issue with Windows XP (without SP2) and the driver radeon ATI 7200.

You should try to get an original CD of Windows XP with or without SP2.
The software callednLiteallows you to create a Windows clean boot CD and add the patches MS and service packs for this CD.

Then, you can try to boot this CD and after installing the OS, you need to update or change the graphics driver!
