  I'm not sure what do you mean exactly by the radio Option of Performance.
  But all the applications and processes including loading at the beginning can be disabled in msconfig.

  In RUN type msconfig and the last tab called startup you could disable some applications is not necessary.

  HI, I have a Satellite pro A10 and everything is working very well in recent years to date.
  A few days ago I started having a cd read error / invalid dvd disc format still drives fine on all the other PCs work.

  Today as I get #1 error on boot up IDE... the laptop is always standard when I got off the shelf. thinking the drive might be dead due to wear I replaced the drive with a drive to work and I still get the same error. I removed the completely STRANGE and yet to come.

  I also updated the usb floppy bios that has been a success. and the best part of all this. the dvd - rom supplied with the laptop works fine in my other a10 tosh!

  Someone at - it ideas. I really need to replace the motherboard if I can help it. This is the only problem with the laptop.

  I have a problem and I really really really could use some help, its been listen to me for the last two days ive trawled through countless amounts of forums and web pages without success then for a last ditch attempt until I throw it out the window (figuratively) I thought I'd come here for help!

  initially when I started the computer this error message came

  PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
  PXE - M0F: Exit Intel Boot Agent.
  Operating system not found

  now, I managed to stop the PXE errors by disabling the Lan built into the BIOS option

  I have check and made sure it is not a disk in the DVD player to the left it doesn't have a floppy drive so it isn't that

  BIOS for some reason usually see the hard drive is a seagate 80 GB HDD Sata, but I know that its fine because it works but in my Dell laptop.
  and my Dell laptop hard drive is not seen in the Toshiba.

  Now that I read all about flashing the BIOS, but I can't because the only download I get Toshiba is one that runs when windows is running (if I can't get it to boot, how do I Flash the bios)?

  I also tried thing BIOS resseting to short-circuit the c88 under the wireless network card, but that didn't work or the other!

  Now is there anything else I can try or do give up and throw it out the window?

• Satellite Pro A200: A continuous beep on startup top and freezing

  It comes to Varun of India. Could someone please help me solve a problem which has been haunting me the last two days. This problem is currently arising in my Pro A200 satellilte. Actually, the problem is that one continuous beep sound from internal speaker at startup is when the name TOSHIBA appers at boot time and more it freezes it right of this screen. But, I still somehow using my system by pressing F5 or F9, and then let it start manually in NORMAL MODE.

  But, I can't keep doing this all the time. And what is more, this beep blows continuously only when the system is started and it will hang up within the same screen until I press F5 or F9. I did restore my system but no use. Could someone please help me in this.

  Im just of the trouble getting an old notebook running. The laptop is not even the bios post, I get a long beep followed a short, being 2 beeps in total. Doesnt post bios or windows, just get these 2 beeps and a black screen.

Forums, I understand that I must uninstall the Toshiba Hotkey utility and download a new piece of software from the Web from Toshiba site. • Satellite Pro C650 - what startup programs I can disable?

  After about two weeks with a new Satellite Pro C650 that I bought for my wife, a light user, she is about to pounce on me.

  Everything runs slowly. Click Start: wait. Open the control panel: wait. The time-out period is of the order of 20 to 30 seconds. Internet is often more slow - especially Internet Explorer, which often goes in a State does not. (Google Chrome run better even if it's not great either) Measures taken up to now include a defragmentation of the C: drive, which was 5% defragmented.   I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro M10 that collapsed. When the system boots, the Toshiba logo seems to have a few points here and there. When displaying messages on the screen during startup, the characters seem corropted. For example, the message "Insert system disk", I and T of the insertion of the word seems to be half upper ASCII characters. The system S is the "less than or equal to sign." and the k of the scratch disk is {.} I already did the following:

  -tried to start with one of my two memory card and I tried the two memory cards.
  -swapped my memory card.
  -reloaded windows and Linux

  I have dropped it once but worked OK for a month after I dropped it. I deleted the operating system, but now seems to have problems to load a CD operatig system (CD works OK). Anyone have an idea what is wrong?

  Is this based on Windows or BIOS based?

  If you mean the ScanDisk in Windows startup you can disable it in the registry:
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager
  Change the BootExecute entry to: autocheck autochk *.

  After that restart the ScanDisk is disabled and doesn't appear at Windows startup.
