Satellite R630-13D: HDD replacement SSD without voiding the warranty?

I have a R630-13D. Can I replace a drive standard HARD with a SSD by myself without voiding the warranty?

Hello

Replacing the HARD drive should not void the warranty.
To my knowledge, the replacement HARD drive is described in the user manual, and you should find a statement detailed how do this.

2 weeks ago, I bought the hp pavilion notebook PC 17-f001nd 17. I have a stick of RAM left free more than a generation, I did and it is compatible. But do I put without voiding the warranty?

    Kind regards

    Hi, Bo:

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c04402649.PDF

The memory of the removal and replacement procedures are provided in Chapter 6.

It is not a do it yourself task and would in fact void the warranty if you have installed the memory yourself and that the PC had a problem later.

    Hey

My laptop (ProBook 4540 s) have always temperatures without stress. Before I could play GTA4 on high all day without BSOD. Now my flow of holes of my laptop is much smaller and hotter, and I got BSOD after 15 min. of play Deadpool or 30 min. of GTA 4. I can disassemble the parts of my computer for cleaning (without voiding the warranty, I guaranteed standard of 10.08.2013 and Care pack for 2015).

  • Star Wars h.e. 15-an000nl: optical drive Swap with a ssd will void the warranty?

    Hi all

I am a proud new owner of this machine, and since it comes with a 1 TB hard drive 5400 RPM and I am also a happy owner of an SSD, I was wondering if the optical drive with the ssd Exchange void my warranty?

I read a little the other q / a and I see that if I try to reach the drive, with all the screws and the cover plastic to raise, I'll probably end by unsecured (actually is not very clear if it's for sure or I'll use a ssd tested non hp...) and since then to remove the optical drive , I just remove a screw, buy an adapter and you're good to go...

So my question is: what limits should I beyond the warranty for you? It's just the opening action itself, or there is more?

And since I write here, optical drive sata port is a sata3 as (I hope) the hard disk it is? Would you recommend this operation?

Thanks in advance for any assistance received...

The optical drive is an authorized user of replacement so you can put an SSD in an optical caddy and will not void the warranty but I do not recommend: 1. the interface is slower; and 2. You cannot start it. Unfortunately, access to the internal hard drive space is verboten and may void the warranty. We can speculate and say if it's done well, nobody would know and likely HP won't guarantee, but we can get official word on this, so the smartest thing is to assume the worst. If you don't care the guarantee and want just your laptop to be quick, we are happy to help you with the understanding that you risk the warranty.

  • I open my laptop without voiding the warranty?

I have a T520, and I bought the extended warranty for it. Still about 700 days go on it.

My CMOS battery is upwards and I know how to solve this problem and I have step by step instructions, and I can do it myself for free in one night. It's infinitely better an option than leaving with a support team, even if I could do it today AND labor was free, nor what its likely at all. With the way things are, the more early I could do that to someone who can fix it would be next Friday.

So, back to my question. Am I allowed to fix it myself, or that void the warranty?

Well there are sticker Sub guarantee that prevents you to take off the bezel of the wrists/keyboard based and make on that, self service

Are you sure? I'm working on a W520 a few days ago and I have no recollection of such a sticker. Where is it supposed to be located?

  • Installation new ssd will void the warranty?

    Hi, just the question:

Installation new ssd will present instead drive the warranty? Thank you

According to the Manual of Maintenance of disk hard is not a CRU (CRUS by), which indicates that the client is not allowed to exchange the item, hoever I'd probably as davidteyuwang suggests above.

Disclaimer clause; I do not work for Lenovo.

  • Can we now install mSATA SSD in our X230s we without voiding the warranty?

If this has been discussed before on this forum that the installation of a device on a 230 X mSATA was a cancellation action guarantee (the part was ranked CSU instead of the former USSR).  And we in the USA had no possibility to have one installed at all.

Now on the Lenovo site when I'm trying to configure an x 230, he said you can order an mSATA compatible one under different screen options.

I ordered a week or two there, but that does not mean we can now install without cancel warrnaties?

Anyone Lenovo have a notice on it?

  • Update without voiding the warranty.

I have a HP ENVY with an I7 3.4 GHz, 16 GB ram, all that good stuff, and it came even with 'HP' 2 years limited warranty. It's a great computer, but it doesn't have a graphics card. Instead, it uses the onboard graphics. I was wondering if there was a way to put in a GeForce GTX650Ti and not invalidate my warranty. I'm ready to go to a licensed store, if I need to and install them, but before I let fall a few hundred on a graphics card, I would like to know if I can use it.

    Thank you

    Hello:

I can't find the specs on your model on the HP website.

If your model is not equipped with a 400W power supply, you will probably cancel the warranty by adding this specific model map.

You should also check if your power supply (if it is 400W or more) has the extra 6 PCi express extra power connector that must be plugged on this map of the model itself.

In addition, adding a video card no HP in a PC with W8 takes some special measures that you can read on the link below.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03653200

Even if you get a video card that presents the specifications of power supply, while the warranty, HP provides no video warranty or video related to your PC support unless return you it to its original configuration.

  • Satellite L650-1CN: can I remove HDD without voiding my warranty?

    Hello

I had a power outage in my laptop that requires him to be returned for repair (see [here | http://i.imgur.com/abq1U.jpg] and [here | http://i.imgur.com/Jk9X8.jpg] for photos of damage, some of the plastic on the melted screen, probably a short circuit?).

Before that, I want to take out the hard drive.
There are two compartments on the bottom of the laptop, secured by a screw.
I guess that one of them contains the hard drive.

Can I remove the HDD without voiding my warranty?
In case the guarantee differs between the countries - I am from the Netherlands, the laptop was purchased in 12/27/2010.

    Thanks in advance

Yes, you can remove the HARD drive and would not void the warranty.

  • Satellite R630-13D: failed to create the recovery disk

I have a similar problem. I have a Satellite R630-13 t and tries to use the Toshiba recovery Media creator to create restoration 2 DVD discs.

When you try to create the first disc, I get the following message:

    Cannot read the next file.
    E:\Boot\fonts\chs_boot.ttf
    (Error code: 020150-20-00000000).

I get a similar message when you try to create the second. I tried four times. On my last attempt, I disabled the protection in real time on my virus checker (Windows Security Essentials) - I don't know how to close down completely, not sure you can. I also turned off wireless and bluetooth.

I need to create these discs please. I use anti-scratch Philips DVD + RW 4.7 GB 120 Min 1-4 x speed discs.

I know that someone else mentioned to try a different type of disc but I just bought these for this purpose and don't really want to buy more if I can help it. The disc type is certainly not a problem? When I look at the disc in the drive, they have files on them - even the file that the error message above says that he could not read.

    Thank you
    Ian

I had similar experiences in the past and I can say that, after several tests using different types of media, I was able to create recovery discs using DVD-R only media.

Hey two disks empty buddy aren't really expensive so don't waste your time here awaiting a solution and buy two or three empty DVD-R discs and create recovery media.
Another tip: do not buy some cheap stuf but high quality TDK or Verbatim discs.

  • Envy 15 K2T37AV: Replace digitizer for Envy 15-Instructions and void the warranty?

I dropped my computer a few days ago from cracking of the digitizer, but not the LCD screen. The display still works, and I'm debating whether to pay to fix it or just do it myself or ask at a local store to do. My questions are:

    (1) do I have to dissect your laptop to replace the digitizer, or y at - it a simple way to just pull the digitizer off the LCD display and replace it?

    (2) in doing so void my warranty? Especially if I don't really have to unscrew anything, and given that the display is not covered by the warranty anyway, if it voids the warranty on everything else?

    (3) if I go with it, what is the model number of the digitizer and are there instructions I could follow?

    Thank you in advance!

  • SSD and RAM on my W530 installation will void the warranty?

SSD and RAM on my W530 installation will void the warranty?

Adil is correct. The RAM and hard drive are considered "replaceable consumer units", which means Lenovo allows not only, but expect end users to manage any updates of these components by themselves.
