Satellite R830-182 - cooling fan runs constantly

Hello

I just bought the R830-182. The fan runs at 100% of the time, from that moment I start. Is it true, that I expect the fan on a laptop to kick when the CPU reaches a certain temperature? It's annoying because it's quite noisy. Also try running the laptop at the lowest possible power - no software no open, WIFI turned off, the management of the standby power battery, the screen brightness turned down etc nothing works.

Someone out there with the same model knows if it is a problem or simply how this laptop it is supposed to work?

Try it please change settings option method of cooling. You can find it in power advanced options for the management of the power supply you use.
Assign the Please optimized battery option. It should reduce the activity of fan cooling.

    Hello

Bought a satellite pro A120 "Intel centrino duo" in January and for the last two weeks, the fan runs continuously. Even when the cold portable OS, it runs complete but even just word processing or done yesterday it runs very hot. I need to access the fan to have a look for dust etc but I couldn't for access!

If anyone knows how that would be great. Either that or somebody can suggest any way to stop the laptop gets so hot. I tried on mode low power - without change, and it also works on different surfaces, but no change.

Any help much appreciated. Thank you

    Hello Dougie

In my opinion you should not do much and check anything because your laptop is new and under warranty. If something is suspicious to you, please contact your dealer local or much better is to contact directly the authorized services.

Explain the situation and let it check your laptop.

  • Cooling fan runs constantly on Tecra A3

I have a Tecra A3 one my fans constantly, past even when idleing and he did it since I got it (about 18 months ago). It works also at a steady pace, and it's like hear Arnold talk - very annoying. Sometimes a (?) of stopp making fans operate for a few seconds, then it starts again, back at the same speed. I've had the computer for repairs and they changed the fan and cleaned the cooling circuit, but this has not done things better, well, well, I got rid of the sound ratteling, but that's it!

I've tried everything I can think of, I am currently under the computer set on the lowest setting for the speed of the processor and optimized battery cooling using the Power Saver utility, but apparently not helped at all. I also tried to set the low processor speed in BIOS setup, it makes a difference and the fan remained periods of 30 seconds (!), bur the performance of the performance of the computers was horrible with these settings, so I had to go back to the speed of the dynamics processor.

In what concerns the the temeratures get to temperature about 36 to 37 degrees celsius (95-97 degrees Fahrenheit) for the temperature of HD (using speedfan). If theres no overheating problem (?). This leads me to believe that this could be due to a bug in the software. I currently use a Norwegian install of Windows XP with Service Pack 2, it is a customized installation provided by my University (my computer is a student PC bought through University).

So, can someone help my makeup the tranquility of my computer like normal computers, sane?

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hello Stig

I use laptop Tecra (M1) for years and I can tell you that this model is really one of the quieter laptops, I know but it is certainly not quite quiet and cooling fan runs almost constantly, but slower level. I know that this is irrelevant to your problem, but I'm just saying that most quiet laptop product noises.

Read your ad I just say you are probably right when you say that it cannot be because of material because the temperature of the laptop is OK and there is no sign of overheating. The fact is that all new laptops are stronger than some older models and Tecra A3 is one of them and unfortunately there is not much to do. As I know nobody has mentioned on any software bug so far. Many bugs are corrected by the BIOS, updates and all I can recommend is to check if the new version of the BIOS is available and see if it helps. Before you start with the update of the BIOS read carefully Instructions how to proceed.

    Good luck!

    Hello

The fan runs constantly if you get into the BIOS?
If Yes, then maybe it can be defective.
In such cases, you should ask the guy to service for assistance.

  • Satellite L850 - 1 KG-cooling fan runs constantly

    Hello

I have the problem that runs constantly in my Nooteboom fan. How can I open the case and clean it?
    I have a Satellite L850 - 1 KG

    Thank you

I don't know how old is your laptop and if dust may be reason for constantly running cooling fan but try it please check first advanced power options. You will find the option for cooling method. Please, set it to optimized battery. This should reduce the activity of fan cooling.

I also hope you use laptop on the desk and fan/cooling grill is free.

By the way: do you use original with the original display driver Toshiba recovery image?

  • Tecra A8 - cooling fan runs constantly

Have a new Tecra A8 (PTA83E) with core 2 duo 1.66 and Vista professional. I try some power management settings, but fan still works at low speed, it never stops even if the laptop is idle and cold.

Is this normal? On my old laptop fan works only if necessary...

    Hello

Fans are running because the laptop has to be cooled.
Believe me; the laptop would not cold if the fans would go not constantly at the lower speed.
I think it is? s better if the fans are running constantly, gently and slowly at low speed as sometimes loudly and jerked.

    What do you think???

  • Satellite M30X-129: CPU fan runs constantly after new XP Pro re - install

I just installed a new Samsung 120 GB drive in my M30X-129, an upgrade of the 60 GB IBM drive with what it was originally provided.

Tried ghost XP Home installation of the old drive to the new - but it didn't work for some reason, installation, attached to a page with the "Windows XP" logo on it...

So, I installed XP Pro with SP2 from scratch on the new drive.

After having done that, I then installed the Toshiba and utils drivers listed for your laptop:

    NES http://UK.Computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK&mode=allMachi & action = search & teddProduct = 555

The problem I have is that the fan runs at full speed all the time - this isn't the case with the old installation of XP (was rare for it to come on at all when slowed down in the office - running full bore 100% of the time)

Research by and try a few suggestions:

-J' installed the common Utils from Toshiba
-J' installed the Toshieba power management - and set the fan speed to ' Silent' has ', but that doesn't seem to have any effect.

Any suggestions? for example. where I get the latest versions of the applications?

The noise of the fan slowly leads me to the top of the wall...

    Ben.

    Hello Ben

If you have installed your own OS and Toshiba designed drivers, tools and utilities, I assume that this problem cannot be software. I'm really not 100% sure why the fan always runs at full speed but Satellite M30X is around 2 years and I guess it's time to clean up. The second thing can be your new HARD drive.
It is also possible that new HARD drive produce more heat and sensors to register it and don t stop the cooling fan.

I recommend you to professionally cleaned the unit and remove any dust inside the unit. I'm pretty sure that cooling fan does not work at all times.

Also try to put the laptop into a slightly higher position (if possible at the back) and on this brand more interspace between the bureau and the cooling grill fan in the lower corner of your laptop.

  • On my Satellite P100-347 cooling fan runs all the time

    Hello

I think I might have a problem with the fan on my Satellite P100-347. He seems to be constantly works constantly and is much stronger than when I bought the computer. Initially he just spent and if so, I think that this could now be wrong.
    Help, please.

    Hi Beata

I agree with the suggestions of Sanremo; He s I don't known how old your laptop has but from time to time it of necessary to clean the cooling fans. Dust and debris inside the laptop could prevent the cooling modules work properly!
The fresh air flow is also very important. Don't forget that there is enough free space around the laptop. Do not use the laptop on the lap or in the bed. In this case the laptop cannot be cooled in the right way and the high temperature can damage parts such as GPU to the Board of Directors.

But if you think that there is a serious hardware problem you must contact the service provider authorized in your country.

Good luck and greetings to Poland ;)

  • Satellite L650-1GF - cooling fan runs every 3 minutes

Last week, I bought a Satellite L650-1GF. Everything is fine except the noise from the cooling fan. Especially because it works almost every minute to cool the carrots. There is an annoying sound hum which takes about 10 seconds and is repeated every 3 minutes approximately.

I checked with "Speedfan". The temperature of the hearts is fluctuating between 32 and 37 C. And at about 37 ° C, the fan speed to cool the computer.

    Two questions:
1 is this normal that the cooling fan starts cooling to 37 ° c.
    2. is the annoying noise of the fan normal for this model of Toshiba?

And what is acceptable, can I find examples to compare with what I feel here somewhere? I saw a lot of cell phones so far, but none of the cooling fans made a buzzing sound like this.

    Kind regards

    Hello

Have you ever tried to change the method of maximum Performance to optimised battery cooling?

You can do this in Windows power management, but make sure you do this for the current profile of the power.

  • Satellite L850-1V0 - module cooling fan runs constantly at the same volume

I've had this laptop since the middle of February this year. I experienced a few problems I am getting concerned:

The first is my fan, regardless of how high the percentage of my CPU temperature is that it will always show that the fan works at a speed of 0%, even though I can hear and feel running. A couple of days, it started to go louder for awhile, then «return to normal»

Second, the fan can be heard at the same volume of work constantly and I can't seem to find a way to make it less work.

The third problem is bit hard to explain. I am aware that you can feel the phone vibrates because of fan work when you rest your palms on it (for example by typing), sometimes it starts to vibrate more difficult but the fan does not noise, that it should when he is working harder.

The fourth problem is that I can hear beeps from my region of fan on the right side of the laptop. They are all the same length in time - long. I think that is not the same length so that lies that beeping, but I cannot prove message beeps a beep code message I looked average.

Problems with the fan began occurring about 9 days after the purchase, it was after I connected my Sony Xperia you to back up the phone. The problem was that it would not back the photos. I was using the pc software that you can install when first connect you your phone via USB. I tried to update my phone once the prgram gave me a message saying wa there is a new update was available for my phone.

Now surely connect my phone to my laptop wouldn't do go funny. I mentioned that because it is the only odd thing that happened before that happened, funny. Everything was fine before this.

Also the rotating blue circle near the cursor appears almost all the time when I open programs. Also, when I click on the browser icon in my taskbar tasks it does not open the program instantly, instead the gray/white background appears as its opening then disappears, then the program opens. Overall, some things have been slower in comparison with before I connected the phone.

Also, being a laptop with 8 gb, I don't think I would have from norton 360 messages saying that I use to record high by some programs. These programs were on my phone before my fan has been upward.

I stuck with the problems this as much as I use it to revise for my A levels. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.

    Help is essential,

My experience says portable behavior depends very much on its use and configuration of the computer personal laptop is not easy to give good advice. To check first please cooing fan settings. You can change the fan cooling activity in Control Panel > power options > change the power plan > change advanced power settings > Toshiba saving settings > cooling method.

The change please in optimized battery option. This should reduce the activity of fan cooling.
    Please test and post comments.

Vibration? Similar problem was my brother on his P300. It is worth noting a few small vibrations but unfortunately there is nothing to do about it. What you can do is to call the Toshiba service in your country, explain the situation and ask if such behaviour is known to them and what we can do about it.

  • Equium A60 - fan runs constantly

Equium A60. 5 years old. For years, the fan is running constantly. Even in winter, and when little ongoing transformation.

    Help. Beginner language please.

    Hello

After 5 years of use, I think that your laptop is full of dust. Dust blocks the flow of air and the laptop cannot be cooled correctly. Because of this cooling fan runs constantly and try to cool down the hardware components.

In my opinion the first step you need to do is clean up your laptop. If you want to do this properly the laptop must be dismantled. I don't know if you can do it alone without manual maintenance, but if it must be done on the service business contact way and let them do it for you.

  • Satellite R830 - 10 c fan always run very fast

    Hello

I just erased the hard drive and reinstalled all CD recovery disc. The only additional software that I installed is windows office 2010.

I have read other discussions on the fan and changed the setting to colling under voltage of the battery and I've updated the BIOS. I don't think I have the recognition of the fingerprint software installed only face.

However fan works always very very fast all the time. Processor, which is an i3 2310 @2. 10 GHz, around 30% and 50% of RAM is bieng used approximately 2.04 GB.

IEXPLORER uses more CPU and RAM to all about 02-05 looking at the Task Manager and about 482 000 K memory. I have 92 processes. System Monitor is running the most discussion, 145 under resources. I don't know what this means, but the blue line on the chart of the CPU in the resource manager is always upward at 100% outside the odd dip to 95%.

Anyone with any ideas or solutions, it would be much appreciated!

    Thank you

It is a known issue with McAffe. Remove this preinstalled trial version will reduce CPU activity and automatically cooling fan runs much quieter. I put t know what antvirus you use now but with Avira antivir, you'll be happy.

  • Re: update of the Bios Satellite A500D 10th did my fan run constantly

    Hello!

I'm in a bit of a pickle. Because I used to update my bios from 1.0 to 1.20 Tempro, my fan runs constantly at aprox. 70% this IS REALLY BORING and I can not use my new computer at school because of this! I tried to search the bios 1.0 original, so that I could downgrade, hoping he could solve the problem, but that is not to be found anywhere =)
Will you please, please, please, and another 1000 times please, help me!

    Cordially Alekpowah

    Hello guys

When the new BIOS is available for former download is no longer available.
What you can do is to contact the nearest service Toshiba and ask for help. They have access to the database of Toshiba and can get the older version of BIOS for you.

  • Kira 107 - fan runs constantly at 90%

I have a new 107 Kira and the fan runs constantly at 90%, but I'm not under what anyone in particular (Chrome, Firefox, Spotify, Word, Excel). The noise is constant and unbearable.

I see in the Performance Manager that the processor is clocked to 2.91 GHz even - if maximum speed is supposed to be 2.40 Ghz.

Any idea the parameters to change to calm this fan?

    Thank you!
    G

You could start the the Task Manager and in the process tab, you will find all background applications that would appeal to the CPU.
Click the CPU column to display all the processes of loading the CPU.

However, you can also try to change the option of cooling method that is available in Windows Advanced Power options.
Go to control panel → power options.
Click here on the power plan that is currently in use.
Then click on advanced power options and access the cooling method.

Here you can change it from active to passive.

In addition, you can decrease the status of CPU max at 90-95%
