Problems with the keypad.

My computer is a B12 S50.
The problem is the following:
Keys '.» "3 6 9 *-+ ' keypad do not work.
Only problem I have with these keys, I have no problem with any other key.
The keys above the letters are working properly, but I need the pad on the right to work.

My operating system is Windows 8.1. 64-bit, it's the operating system factory. (I don't have not upgraded to Windows 10)

Someone knows the solution?

Thank you all very much.

    A little different problem here:

Just bought my dv7-1030eb. On this keyboard is QWERTY Belgium (well, i live in Belgium, so it's OK)

It is a problem, that I was just trying to solve on a dv7-1002.

I found that the solution has been updated of the bios.

I was on a version very early and found that I had to do incremental updates. From the one after the current bios, if you try to jump the updates, it fails to the version checks and gives an error "is not any ROM file in this directory"".»

Keys num started working after about five updates and continued to work for the rest. I had to do about 10 updates to get the current bios. The keys are now working very well.

    Hope this helps someone else.

  • SpeedGrade will not meet the numeric keypad keys / partially cut 2nd monitor image

Very strange... I just opened a project in Speedgrade. When I started working, I noticed that the keys of the numeric keypad do not work. In addition, the changes made with the mouse are delayed. Apart from that, I use a second monitor and about a quarter of the picture from the left edge is cut. First works very well, it is quite another thing, it's a brand new computer. I tried all the usual stuff like reboot I even uninstalled and re-installed, but to no avail. I use the latest version of speedgrade on a system 4790 Windows 8.1 Intel i7 with 32 GB of RAM and a card GTX 780. Does anyone have ideas, what could happen?

    Hello

You did that the display in the window of parameters setting are set correctly? You can manually adjust the resolution of your screen in the second.

For the delay, have you created a mask in your project?

To me, it seems that you tried to install applications that are not compatible with this laptop.
Where did you get the drivers?

On the European driver of Toshiba in archive page, you can find the drivers for Satellite Pro M30

  • Satellite A300-20 q two multimedia keys do not work

I have my Satellite A300-20 q a year and a half. Recently (a week) ago two of the six multimedia keys works in a strange way:

At first things that remained functional:

    -Each button MM (MMB) changes its light when they are affected;
-play, stop, forward and back buttons work when you start Windows Media Player.
    -I turn on the laptop by pressing the CD/DVD key;
-lights up button is activated and deactivated when I run the dimmer.exe application.

    What no longer works:

-lights button on / off don't turn the lights on and outside
-Button CD/DVD does not take Media Player
-both of these buttons don't not launch any application related to them: I can attribute an application, the software remembers the lines of command, but touch these two buttons, nothing happens (and, of course, the solution described in the next topic http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=134226 does not work in my case).

I recently made only two changes in the configuration of the computer: installed CygWin and VMWare. I also tried to install CygWin a pair of months and didn't expect problems with the buttons at this time. So I suspect that VMWare has changed something in the configuration of Windows.

    Any suggestions?

    > recently has just two changes in the configuration of the computer: installed CygWin and VMWare

The problem is installed VMWare (virtual machine)
I read a few threads on the same issue and this tool (VMWare) affect the functionality of the multimedia keys!
You have to remove it and you will see that the buttons works again

  • Satellite A300-243 - simple disk recovery & keys do not work

Hello, I just bought a new Toshiba Satellite A300 243, and I decided to reinstall the system to Vista Ultimate 64 bit (because of the use of the 4 GB ram).

It took me a few hours, but ultimately I found the necessary drivers and everything works fine, except one thing - multimedia keys (I think they are called easy keys). Start, Stop, next and preview track trace works great, but the first (default used for the activation/deactivation of illumination) and the second (default used for starting of W Media Player) do not work. I installed the latest version of VAP for Vista 64-bit and to Toshiba button support, I'm not able to change anything. The list, where normally I am able to choose a key to change its function, is empty. I found some similar problems on this forum, but no useful answer - lookes like the only way is to use the Toshiba Recovery option, and at this point, I get to my second problem.

The second problem is in Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator and Toshiba HDD Recovery tool. At first, until I reinstalled Vista 64 bit version I wanted to create the recovery disk, but Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator just didn't start. Then I found the HARD drive recovery option, and I've read, that this tool is placed on a hidden partition, so I thought that I will be able to recover the old system with this tool in the case of any compication. Then I reinstalled the system and wish to return to 32 bits, because he looked like his slower and at first I was not able to find all the necessary drivers. And what a surprise - recovery tool has disappeared!

The only thing I'm missing on the 64-bit version is now these two multimedia keys.

And the last question - are there opportunities to get a recovery with Vista 64-bit disk?

    Hello

As you said for easy keys or also called buttons lighting you need Toshiba value added Package. Satellite A300-243 belongs to the series of PSAG8E and that's why you can find all the drivers on the Toshiba site tools:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

Before installing the VAP, make sure that all the drivers are installed and for Vista SP1 at least. Then you can install it and normally then you can use the FN buttons for lighting, etc..
Also, make sure that you have installed the latest BIOS for your laptop.

Regarding your problem with the recovery disk creator and drive HARD recovery option, I can only say that these features are only available on the preinstalled version of Vista. This means that if you upgrade to Vista 64 bit you can t use HARD drive recovery option more and also the recovery disk creator.
So if the recovery disc creator doesn't work you need to use HARD drive recovery option, but it is not stored on a hidden partition. These files are stored on the second partition of HARD drive in the folder HDDrecovery. The hidden partition do you mean belongs is a feature in Vista: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Recovery_Environment

But just a question: have you ever created a recovery disk?

  • Satellite M40X: After update Bios keyboard keys do not work correctly

I have a Satellite M40X and I had updated the Bios to v 1.60. and now the keys u, m, 7 and the up arrow will not work correctly. The problem is that there is not another version of Bios to use.

How can I solve my problem?
Can I get the old version of the bios?

    Thank you
    Gabriel

    Hello

No won´t you be able to recover the old BIOS. The only two options are:

    1. try to update BIOS and check if it work s
    2. in the case of no success, please visit the [ASP Locator | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/generic_content.jsp?service=EU&ID=ASP_SUPPORT] to search for the nearest ASP in your country and ask them for a checkup of material and repair.

  • Satellite L500 - 1 EV - Some FN keys do not work on Windows 7

    Hello

I bought a new laptop Toshiba Satellite L500 - 1 EV. Now I'm with Windows 7 32 bit OS, and I noticed that some of the shortcuts - espacially the "fn + F8" - to turn on and turn off the adapter wireless and "Fn + F9" allowing you to alternate between the mouse and touchpad of entry do not work. After I press FN + F8 wireless adapter still works and the light always. After pressing Fn + F9 system keeps the receiver input mouse and touchpad.

    Am I missing some driver?
    Thank you!

    Hello

Have you installed Windows 7 yourself or was it is preinstalled on your laptop?

AFAIK for the FN keys you need Toshiba Value added Package, and Flash Cards Support utility. In your case, I will try to reinstall the two of them, VAP first and then Flash cards support utility.

Consult the Toshiba site, where you can find these two tools! :)

    Hello

The friend may have changed keyboard and other parameters which they should not do
without telling you. Try a system restore before that happened - reboot first to see if this
    It clears.

Reboot and then if necessary use this method to return to until the problem occurred.

  • Satellite A660 - 12 X - touch/media keys do not work

    Hello

In my view, this is a common problem, but I have yet to see a solution for him.

Ignition keys, on the right of the power button on my Saturday A660-12 X are not working. they used to work, but now they do not have. The two volume buttons still work, and I can hear sound when I press each button, but nothing happens.

I have no idea since when it has stopped working.

I tried the VAP and other drivers from the toshiba site, but the problem persists.

I read about a lot of Foruns, but all goes to same... reinstall VAP and toshiba utility something... DID NOT WORK!

    Help please...

    Thanks in advance...

I put t really know if it's the usual problem. I have two Toshiba laptops, both with these buttons and they work from the first day so I m asking me what happen by some who say about it.

Is that these buttons are controlled by the technical support of button utility this utility is part of the package of added value so it is logical that the solution can be installation of VAP.
Do you use an original preinstalled operating system?
    You have installed updates?

If I understood you well you deleted original VAP and after restarting the laptop, you have installed VAP downloaded from the Toshiba download page. Can you confirm this?
