  Conversion between raster image formats would be normally better handled in programs like Photoshop.

  I regret that there is no option to save a file with a different name after the change. However, there is a workaround that you can try.

  • Select the file you need to make changes.
  • Create a duplicate file and then rename it.
  • Now, you can make changes to in the file duplicate.

  Windows cannot do natively.  A file name is simply a file name and you can not prevent the registration of a file based on its extension.

Other programs work fine, but not Adobe Reader. I can save a pdf file with a different name, but when I try to save as in XI or replace as in DC had an error: the file is read-only or opened by someone else.
