saving a document scanned in pdf format
I have a desktop F4272 printer / scanner.
It is used to be connected to a PC running Windows XP. The pdf option was not available on the menu drop down, but after contacting e-mail Support Team in 2009, I ran OCR software and the pdf option has been made available
The F4272 is connected to a computer to laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro under Wndows 8.1. The F4272 set up the disc is not compatible with windows 8, it's why I can't launch the OCR software. Windows 8 'automatically' configured the F4272 but file scanner options do not include the pdf - how to include this? Thank you
Greetings @moreno1 ,
Welcome to the forums
Perhaps the installation disc is not compatible with Windows 8/8.1, and that's okay. You are able to download and install the software to print from a download. Below is the direct link for your driver. I hope that helps!

OT: Pictures scanned in PDF format
Well, it's a bit off-topic, but I'll ask anyway:
I'm working on a magazine, and someone sent me a bunch of pictures to use. That they are scanned in PDF format. I used Acrobat to perform an audit before the flight to make sure they aren't too low resolution. They are transmitted to this review, but I don't know exactly what resolution they really are. I need to open them in Photoshop to make some retouching, cropping, etc. How I don't know what that set the resolution when I open them?
I guess it's a Photoshop or Acrobat issue, I don't know who...
Thank you, Phyllis
If you need to work again, I would use the Acrobat image edit command that will run Photoshop and give you the image to work on. From there on, save as PSD or TIF and place that in your identity document.

I have several hundred investigations that I need to combine them into a single document. Can I use this software to scan, make a pdf file, then convert the pdf into a word file that I can copy parts of it and paste it into another document?
Hi mommajayne,
You will need Acrobat Pro DC to scan documents to PDF format.
You can also combine and edit PDFS in Acrobat.
For more information about Acrobat, please see this KB doc: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/faq.html
Let us know if you need additional assistance.

My HP 5520 to scan in PDF format use, now it won't. Help please
My printer does not more analysis in PDF format. I use to select start... device & printers... HP5520... and now an article is missing. I don't remember the name, but it allows to open another window and give me options lke printing, scanning, etc. And then I would ask scan to email, scan-to-file, etc... but it's over. Now all scans of m are jpg... ugh
Hello
Try running the software in the start menu by selecting programs > HP > HP Photosmart 5520 (folder) and click on the printer icon.
If this screen you scan options as well (must be as scan a document or picture), it is due to outdated software... or you will need to select uninstall in this case, that to install the last version of the software below should restore the HP printer Assistant function:

How to filter Documents attached in PDF format?
Hello people,
I wonder if we can restrict some documents attached to a PDF file or not. For example, I can add only Microsoft Word documents to PDF format and ignore the reset of all other documents. Please let me know how can I generate this type of functionality.
Thanks in advance
Rajesh
Hi Renon,
If you use a button for the user to add an attachment, then you can use JavaScript code like this in the event click;
var attachmentName = "SupportDocument."
var validTypes = 'doc, docx, xls, xlsx.
var PDF = event.target;
If (pdf.importDataObject (attachmentName))
{
attachment var = pdf.getDataObject (attachmentName);
var attachment.path.replace = filetype (/(.*)-.) () [a-zA-Z] +) $/, « $2')
If (validTypes.split(',').indexOf (filetype) = - 1).
{
pdf.removeDataObject (attachmentName);
App.Alert ("' invalid file type");
}
}
You should always check when they argue that they have not added an attachment via the builtin Adobe attachment Panel. Something like;
var PDF = event.target;
If (pdf.dataObjects! == null)
{
for (var i = 0; i)< pdf.dataobjects.length;="">
{
If (pdf.dataObjects [i] .name = pdf.dataObjects [i] .path)
{
App.Alert ("you have an invalid attachment");
break;
}
}
}
It is based on the property name is set to the path using the attachment Panel or the argument of the function importDataObject if using the code. You can keep you own attachments via the script record has added that this behavior can be changed by Adobe in a future release.
I don't want to make it sound like I know what Adobe can do, just that the name property is used to be on without a title when you use the attachment pane.

Photosmart 6520: Set the default scan to PDF format
Is it possible to set the default Analyzer for PDFs instead of jpg? My old printer allowed me to set via the menu, but I can't find a menu option, no matter where I looked.
Hello
You see settings options? The Options allow to choose the picture or Document. Scan of the computer will give you MORE options and you can choose default.
Kind regards.

OfficeJet Pro 8500: Scan to PDF Format
Hello.
(1) I don't know if my OS is 32-bit or 64-bit. Should give a bit of a clue as to how much I know about computers;
(2) my Officejet Pro allows to analyze in *.pdf; Now he doesn't. I tried everything, including the update of UN - and reinstalling drivers.
(3) the installation disk supplied with the appliance doesn't list Windows 7 on the face (XP and Vista). I don't know how much difference that, given that the computer came with 7 and, even once, worked fine until he decided to do not.
(4) after updating drivers, I can scan to tif, bmp, jpg, and png... but the pdf, it is what is wanted.
(5) I can see and print pdf files, scanning is the only problem.
(6) any ideas, before I reprogram this machine with a fairly large axe?
Any help is appreciated.

HI @GFY1
You can try this:
HP extended Scan
FTP://FTP.HP.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Once it has downloaded and installed, go to start > all programs > HP > HP Scan extended > Run "HP Scan extended.
Hope that helps!

'Only form fields' print won't work on scanned in PDF format
I am a lawyer and when I complain, I need to use a blank form of the Court which has a seal on it. I want to avoid having to use a typewriter every time, so what I would do is: (1) analyzes the empty in Adobe Acrobat complaint, (2) fill in name, address, etc. in areas by using the function 'Add text', (3) place the complaint sealed, empty in my bin of the printer, and (4) print only the fields that I entered (i.e. address (, name, etc.) so that they overlap perfectly on the designated areas of the complaint of seal. In theory, this plan works perfectly.
I tried to add the text to the help > modify PDF > function add text, I add all of the fields that I have to, and when I go to print "form fields only" throughout the document is empty. The only way these fields will be printed is if I choose 'Document', 'Document and marks' or 'Document and Stamp' of the section comment and forms of print screen, however this displays the entire form and I want only their name, address, etc. that I filled out in Adobe (because I already have the blank form in my printer).
I use Adobe Acrobat DC trial and running Mac OS 10.9.
Any help on this would be much appreciated!
That you add are not of form fields, which explains why it does not work.
To add form fields you must go to the form view change via Tools - shape, and
then, use the add new field there.
