  Press Command-Option-shift and launch Photoshop. When you see the dialog box to delete the settings file, release the keys, click Yes and I hope that the preferences will be recreated.

• Siri is off, but data usage said that it has been used.

  As I understand it, there is a problem with iPhone battery life your dad 4 s, which seems to be linked to Siri. If you haven't already done so, try to restart the iPhone, as described in the article below.
