  • Why can I no longer scan a document into word so it can be edited?

There are a few versions of microsoft, I was able to scan a document in word format.  Once scanned, it could be open in word and edited.  I can find is no longer a way to do this.  Is it still possible?

Yes, but you need an OCR [optical character recognition] application to do.

OCR takes a picture & transformed into characters - Word can handle only once this task is completed.

It wasn't a word that makes the task of scanning-OCR for you.

Many scanners come with a bundled OCR application.

    Harold, welcome to the forum.

You will need an optical recognition program characters (OCR) to change the text that has been scanned into your computer.  You must ensure that you have installed all the software supplied with the printer.  If there is an OCR software, it will be included.

  • C4380 copying or scanning and changing proportions

    Hello

I want to copy a few brochures that are not quite A4, slightly shorter and slightly wider. I want to scan or copy using my printer HP C4380 standard A4 size borderless, thus altering the ratio of aspect slightly. I'm running on Windows 7 solutions Center, and he seems to want to maintain the proportions no matter how I set the output size, leaving a border not printed at the end of the page.

Is this possible? How can it be done?

    Thank you

    Hi raycom.

This web page will give you a brief overview of the proportions and some of the limitations you may encounter.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01499820

To pass some of these limitations, you will want to first analyze the image on your computer and then try to manipulate using third party software like Photoshop Adobe packs.

Look at the screen that appears when you do a scan.  If she has a way to scan to Word or another word processor, you have OCR.  It would be much easier to answer if we knew what you do and scanner model you have.

  • How can I identify all the words in capital letters and change to initcaps?

    Hello

    I'm using Oracle 11.g

I have a table with multiple textual data varchar2 columns.  There are several words that are all uppercase.  In all cases, these capital words should be replaced by different cases (for example, HELLO Hello).  How find the capitalized words in all the lines and change them to mixed-case?

    Thanks for your help.

The rownum in your update statement is probably taken as the virtual rownum http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e41084/pseudocolumns009.htm#SQLRF00255

This is probably the reason why the script compiles, but the update does not work as there is no column named rownum in your table (even if it exists, rename it as is among the reserved words http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e41084/ap_keywd001.htm#SQLRF55621)

I recently had to rebuild the computer and reinstalled the photos.  I have photos imported into Lightroom, but the parameters associated with the photos, that is to say. When they were developed, are not there.  How to import these?

Default LR stores all changes in the catalog file, not in the pictures. So if you have a backup of your original catalog you will need to copy on the newly rebuilt system and open it in LR. You will then need to recreate a link to the images in the catalog depending on where are your images and where the original LR catalogue think they are.

Recovery of DNG issue: I have photos stored on an external hard drive which have previously been imported into Lightroom and converted to DNG.  The laptop on which I was running Lightroom died and I had to replace the hard drive and rebuild the computer.  In the process of my Lightroom program and catalog related to these images have been lost.  When I re-associate these photos with my new installation of Lightroom and a new catalogue is there a way to retrieve the keywords or other changes or metadata catalogue Mountaga?  Is any of this information embedded with the imge DNG file or was it only in the cataloght lost on my failing hard drive? I re-import just as if it were new images with no prior treatment of Lightroom?

By default, LR saves all changes in the catalog, and that applies to any type of file.

Optionally, you can save changes to the file as well, for raw files owners, this will create a xmp file - for DNG that changes are going to be cooked in the file, without additional xmp file.

But it does not default. Go to the catalog and parameters under the control of metadata automatically save changes to XMP.

Unless you do this, the changes are saved only in the catalog.

    Hope this makes things clearer.

  • Red video and no sound at the end of the clip 3 hours when they are imported into first

    Hi all

I currently have a problem with first Pro CC when a clip of 3 hours that I recorded (720 p/24 fps) using XSplit loses video and audio in the last 10 minutes when they are imported into first. The rest of the video is perfectly fine, but this section of it does not correctly (it goes forever, one minute or more per image) and will not export the missing without audio recall bias, and the video (export fails at the end). The clip is a created and coded by XSplit MP4 file and is able to normally play outside Premiere. When overview in the first, reading only shows a screen completely red. There is no effects applied to the element, or any change to the it.

I tried to clear my cache preview and import the clip into a new project with exactly the same results in the same place in the clip.

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi, IPA,.

You have a video file that has a variable rate, which does not work with Premiere Pro. You can transcode the file, and then it should work OK. Many people use the brake hand or similar.

    Thank you

  • The superdrive in my iMac (21.5, late 2009) refuses to mount new audio CD. It is very good with cds that have already been imported into iTunes and Ditto DVD. But the new CD is ejected, which means that I can't add anything to my music library on a cd.

The superdrive in my iMac (21.5, late 2009, running OSX 10.10.3) refuses to mount new audio CD. He sees the cds, which have already been imported into iTunes (12.3.2.35) and same DVD. But new (IE back to the computer) cds are ejected, which means that I can't add anything to my music library on a cd. Any help would be appreciated!

First try to reset the SMC & LANDAU 2 - 3 times back to back by LANDAU and Intel iMac SMC resets with all devices disconnected.

If that does not resolve the problem, go to your local office supply store and get a CD/DVD cleaning kit and use it. If this does not work, then the SuperDrive is end of life and should be replaced. Many users with iMacs older everything just get external DVD readers, if you need to do this, I recommend you contact OWC (www.macsales.com) and they can direct you to one that fits your needs.

    Hi @JOGL,

Thank you for joining the HP Forums!

I understand that computer analysis can not be activated as well as the scan and combine them into a single pdf document. With your printer HP Officejet 7610. I am pleased to see that for you!

At this time for this model. There is no software and drivers for Mac OS X 10.12 again, given that the operating system has just been launched, it could take some time. For the time being, you can try to use HP Easy Scan to see if that can meet your scanning preferences. In otherwise, all we can do is wait for the software and drivers to be released.
