  You can try to make older programs run in this version of Windows and see what the Windows 7 Compatibility Center says of this unit.

  Is there a program to load the disk or is it just copies of some images.  So just copies, then the disc will not 'load' because there is no program to run.  Insert the disc in the drive and click Start / computer / player Disck and right click it and select Explorer.  You should be able to see the folders and files with your photos.  You can or the disc appears to be blank or missing?

  If the problem is that by clicking on the file does not open a program to display it, and then confirm that your Vista machine has software installed to read the file type of the images (they may require that you get a different software to view what they are).

  If this isn't the problem, try to copy some files from the disc to your desktop computer and try to open them from there and see if that makes a difference.  If so, then there is a problem with the drive to recognize the types of files, and then by selecting the appropriate program.  You should maybe go to the web site of the manufacturer of the drive and download any driver, firmware and suitable for the machine AND your version of Vista.  Install it and see if that makes a difference.  Check out a few other discs and see if you have the same problem with them or if it's only this one disc.

  What type of disc is (CD, CD - R, CD - RW, DVD,...)?  Confirm that you can read stll the drive on the XP machine.  Do you get the error on each machine and if so what do say EXACTLY?

  Restore point:

  Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

  Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

  Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

  If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

  Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

• LR CC works fine on my laptop but hangs when I connect a new external monitor

  LR CC big short on my laptop with or without the option enable the GPU.

  Last week, I bought an ASUS 24 "PA248Q monitor.  When I connect the external monitor and get all the settings to extend the screen everything works fine EXCEPT Lightroom.  When I run LR, I see the splash screen and the screen on the new monitor then turn a solid color (it seems that any color except the classic blue screen of death).  At this point, my laptop is completely locked.  No pointer, Ctrl-alt-delete.  I have to power down.

  In the investigation of this issue, since took me to update to the latest Nvidia driver, is ensure that the driver has been installed and uninstalled and reinstalled LR CC.  I calibrate using screen ColorMunki and tried with and without the calibration of loading software on startup.  When I unplug the external monitor and restart, LR works normally on the laptop.  It just craps out when the external monitor is connected.  PS CC works fine on my new monitor.

  Help, please.  I'm out of ideas.  I have a ticket open to ASUS, but so far their dose was to reset the screen and it does not solve the problem of crash.

  On a MBP and can use my apple TV as office extended, but if I try to stream a video from my iTunes library I get an error message saying: the network connection has expired. That happen all the time and sometimes it works perfectly, sometimes may take 3 or 4 attempts to disseminate and sometimes it is not matter what I do (including Apple TV restarting, MBP etc.) it will not work. Even when it does not work, I can use the air game screen to show my desktop etc on the TV via Apple TV, and I can also just mirror my phone or my ipad at any time without any problem. All software are up to date on my MBP and Apple TV. Everything starts to get really annoying when trying to watch videos at home etc and not be able to. One is able to offer a solution?

  Looks like you're using Airplay and trying to play iTunes content and watch via Airplay.

  If so, you would be better using the part of the House and streaming videos like this.  It uses the buffering and is less than half a load on your network.

  Using Airplay does not tax these as your network and buffer.

• To activate Windows 7, but will not be validated

  I have read and followed suggestions and advice on some of the same problems where Windows 7 will not be validated, but I still can't get Windows 7 to validate.

  I have two Windows 7 CD that I bought new, OEM.  I have had no problem activation and validation in Windows 7 in the past, but do it now.  I guess I have to reinstall the OS up once a year due to the system of slowdown in what I can only speculate to be infection by Internet programs.  This year I had to move windows from one disk to the other because the drive before was not.

  After installation, I went through the process of trying to validate it and validation failed.  So I searched for a solution answers.microsoft.com.  Ended up having to call the number 1 888 to manually activate my Windows 7, which it did successfully, but I still can't the validation process to pass.  The validation process indicates the following, "the validation service could not determine whether the copy of Windows that is running on your computer is genuine. Please try to validate Windows again. If you get validation errors, try again later or contact support. "

  So I continually click on validate Windows several times, but the end upward with the same scenario.  When I run slui.exe I get the message that the Activation was successful, with the rest of the information on that standard message activation only.

  Can anyone give me any help on how I can solve this problem with Windows 7, or a validation is necessary if the activation was successful?

  There seems to be a problem with the validation on www.microsoft.com/genuine/validateprocess.  I ran the same process of validation on another computer that has been validated and the process of validation on the above link also said could not be validated as authentic.  I also ran the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool (1.9.0019.0) on my computer and the State of Validation reports as authentic with a Validation code from 0.

  So I'm going to consider this issue as not valid, but let displayed as is in case someone else is having the same problem, then one who responds, it will offer the community help.

  There is no reason to have to reinstall everything Windows 7 every year.  Just make a perfect clean reinstall Windows 7 following the steps in liaison including save a backup image that allows you to reinstall the OS in 20 minutes and preserves the activation.

  Did you use the recovery process HP plant or install using a different operating system disk? If the latter, you need to install the drivers for all your hardware, including drivers for wireless network cards. You will get only the pilot specific support for your laptop model HP Web site tech.
