• Question 'Running Total' account

  I have a request where an account is needed to keep a "running total".  I don't think that balancing time will work.  Requirement is the account would be just more each month, then Jan of second year is equivalent to decrease on the first year and so on...  DTS handles this?  Not quite sure DTS continues to run tally forever...

  DTS only works during the year.  Create an account that will take its previous value and add the month.  For January, you will need to look back at previous December.  You probably need a stored value, otherwise, it will recalculate the history whenever it is used.

  Hello. I'm under PeopleTools 8,53 Oracle Linux 5 with Oracle 11 g 1 material database.

  Process scheduler run reports SQR and get the error message as below:

  Error of the client Http Response Code: 401 - non authorized. Transfer HTTP error.

  My report node information is below:

  URLID: http://ip_address:port/p/psreports/ch

  Home directory: /psreports

  Resource URI: SchedulerTransfer/ch

  Login ID: PS

  Password: mypass

  PeopleTools > IntegrationBroker > Configuration of integration > nodes: authentication option is selected password.

  The 2 roles, ReportDistAdmin and ProcessSchedulerAdmin are granted to the user PS

  Someone tell the error above due to incorrect or misspelled path for report repository in the configuration.properties file.

  I see no error in my configuration.

  My question is:

  I'm trying to implement a task in Vista Task Scheduler, and I want a task to run after a user connects (easy enough) and run as one coming from connect - that is to say use the user account of the person who just logged on, not a specific predefined user account.

  Can I do this?
  I want to do this is because I want to send a notification that "user X comes to connect."  I'm trying to get the information of the user for example 'whoami' or username, but if the task is scheduled to be executed by using a predefined user account, then you get just the username of this user account preset, not the user name of the user who just logged.

  For your information; It is not possible to schedule a task to send a notification on the connection to the account through Windows Task Scheduler.

• Windows 7 task scheduler - run if user logged in or not (DOES NOT WORK)

  I have an exe thread created in visual studio 2013 requiring a run setting. I want to run at 14:00 on every day when user connected power by the windows Task Scheduler. I followed the steps to plan an exe to run through the Task Scheduler windows below.

  Step 1: Created new task with the name "Billing Update", and I put it with option shown below run if user logged in or not.

  

  Step 2: Configure option trigger run exe on all day at 14:00.

  

  Step 3: Configure Action tab to select Billing.exe with arguments 2015.

  

  Step 4: I clicked the ok button, he asked me the username, password to run the exe if you know if the user is logged in or not. I did put with appropriate credentials and hit ok.

  

  When I connected to execution of the program, he has not worked.

  When you select "Run if user logged in or not ', then the task runs as a background process. He won't let users interact with it. You can tell by scheduling notepad.exe. After that task scheduler called notepad.exe you can see using tasklist.exe or by looking at the Task Manager.

  I did a GPO that runs on newspaper to run a file is to create a scheduled task on all computers in the domain. The bat file just run a file HTA I made to disconnect the user which allows them to have a warning and to delay the log off. It works well on our domain on windows 7 and XP machines with the exception of a handful of users (about 4 of 50 users). Among these four users, it disconnects every day 06:20 we disconnected about 08:30 and the other two will be disconnect randomly throughout the day. They are supposed to be disconnected at 17:30. The user who is disconnected at 06:20 has sometimes performed twice a day and one of them at the time. When I check the task on each machine, the parameters are properly. Run daily at 5:30, when the user is connected, run with the highest privileges. I searched endlessly, but nobody seems to know my exact problem. I really hope that this has not been requested here and I just missed it and someone here can help me.

• Task Scheduler ' run as ' GUI app not working not

  Hi, I'm on Windows 7 Pro with all the updates.

  I have a Windows Forms program that must be run from my nonadministrator user - a member of the unchanged 'users' group that is part of any installation of Windows.  Call the AUSER.   The program will run out of AUSER start-up and ' run as ' admin.  It works very well I put in place a shortcut to do.  Of course, he asks AUSER of identification admin each time.  Also can not have ' run as ' shortcuts in the startup folder.

  I read Scheduler of tasks would be a good solution for this - that he could "run as" the program the connection and require administrator credentials only when admin defines the task, but not later.   This is apparently NOT the case on my system, and I would like to know why.

  Just to remove any doubt that my program itself has problems, I tried scheduling NotePad.exe:

  I've implemented the task like this:
  Name: Test of Notepad
  When running the task uses the following user account: admin
  Run only when the user is connected.
  Run with the highest privileges. (checked)
  Trigger: when AUSER connecting
  Action: Start a program: C:\Windows\Notepad.exe (with a valid
  beginning of specified directory).
  Everything else the default value.

  The problem is that if I 'if the user is logged on or not' he don't get no interface graphic (like MS documented), but I need the GUI to control the program.  If I appear the task of AUSER Manager and tell him to report all processes (and provide identification information), I can see Notepad missing here - without head, running as an administrator, with not a GUI and no way (AFAIK) to join him.

  If I 'run only when the user logs' task never fires because mine is a single-user system, I'm either logged in as administrator or AUSER but not both.  (And even if I was in a multiuser system, the admin is not permanently connected, it is?)

  If I set the user ' run as ' AUSER my GUI program appears but throws an exception when it reaches the methods that require elevated privileges.  (Apparently the 'run with highest privileges"does not have more privileges AUSER, it elevates them just if AUSER is already allowed privileges in the first place.)

  I've seen several posts on .NET reports of success with this approach, but now I suspect that their "AUSER" is part of the admin and users group.  I can't have and maintain a good warranty.

  So is there anything else I could try?  And why no GUI by pressing "If the user is connected or not?"

  Sorry, you can't have a standard user account tasks to the highest privilege. As far as I KNOW, the task running with the highest privileges only works if the account used for the scheduled task is a member of the Administrators group. The solution might be to run the background job, create a journal, and then report the results in a separate to the foreground process.

• TMS 14.5 - Smart Scheduler running slow

  Good afternoon

  The Scheduler is commissioning and allowing users to connect, but when trying to schedule a new meeting that the participants section takes forever to load that eventually will confuse people. Adding Favorites is also incredibly slow. I guess it's something to do with TMSPE but I'm not sure. I tried to run diagnostics and health checks, but there is no indication of problems on the server. I also tried to restart the SMT server to see if there was no improvement and that doesn't seem to help. I've included a screenshot of the Scheduler. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

  First of all, TMSPE 1.3 or a later version is required for the TMS 14.5

  Second, yes upgrading Java TMSPE still running can cause problems. I currently run Java 7 update on our TMS 51 / box TMSPE running 14.6 / 1.4

  Not sure of the version of Java 8 with TMS work / TMSPE again, I'll have to check.

• Best way to schedule/run scripts third 3rd on an OEM customer?

  We currently use some 3rd party scripts on our monitoring systems.  Before launch us into monitoring OEM, we would simply install OEM, integrate existing monitoring script, and then maybe slowly migrate on.  These scripts are run several times daily through cron.

  Would it not be appropriate to migrate these courses as jobs on our OEM customers?  This would allow us to customize the calendars of the script (IE every 5 minutes), the report if these scripts fail, etc. ?

  Or is there a better mechanism to use?

  To my dismay this morning, all my Scheduler tasks do not run for 1 week!
  
  I check the USER_SCHEDULER_JOBS - all are ENABLED
  I check the USER_SCHEDULER_JOB_LOGS - all came...
  
  but the last logged date is DEC 4!...
  so I went Googling around, checking if JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES is necessary, but make any that I set the value of a zero or a zero value, jobs are still not built.
  
  1 thing for sure, manually works running.

  If the database process does not start, then I suggest that looking for "absent MMNL" on Metalink or raise a SR. If you use google for this error, you can find some references to bugs and Metalink notes.
