Task Scheduler ' run as ' GUI app not working not

Hi, I'm on Windows 7 Pro with all the updates.

I have a Windows Forms program that must be run from my nonadministrator user - a member of the unchanged 'users' group that is part of any installation of Windows.  Call the AUSER.   The program will run out of AUSER start-up and ' run as ' admin.  It works very well I put in place a shortcut to do.  Of course, he asks AUSER of identification admin each time.  Also can not have ' run as ' shortcuts in the startup folder.

I read Scheduler of tasks would be a good solution for this - that he could "run as" the program the connection and require administrator credentials only when admin defines the task, but not later.   This is apparently NOT the case on my system, and I would like to know why.

Just to remove any doubt that my program itself has problems, I tried scheduling NotePad.exe:

I've implemented the task like this:
Name: Test of Notepad
When running the task uses the following user account: admin
Run only when the user is connected.
Run with the highest privileges. (checked)
Trigger: when AUSER connecting
Action: Start a program: C:\Windows\Notepad.exe (with a valid
beginning of specified directory).
Everything else the default value.

The problem is that if I 'if the user is logged on or not' he don't get no interface graphic (like MS documented), but I need the GUI to control the program.  If I appear the task of AUSER Manager and tell him to report all processes (and provide identification information), I can see Notepad missing here - without head, running as an administrator, with not a GUI and no way (AFAIK) to join him.

If I 'run only when the user logs' task never fires because mine is a single-user system, I'm either logged in as administrator or AUSER but not both.  (And even if I was in a multiuser system, the admin is not permanently connected, it is?)

If I set the user ' run as ' AUSER my GUI program appears but throws an exception when it reaches the methods that require elevated privileges.  (Apparently the 'run with highest privileges"does not have more privileges AUSER, it elevates them just if AUSER is already allowed privileges in the first place.)

I've seen several posts on .NET reports of success with this approach, but now I suspect that their "AUSER" is part of the admin and users group.  I can't have and maintain a good warranty.

So is there anything else I could try?  And why no GUI by pressing "If the user is connected or not?"

Thank you

Tom

Sorry, you can't have a standard user account tasks to the highest privilege. As far as I KNOW, the task running with the highest privileges only works if the account used for the scheduled task is a member of the Administrators group. The solution might be to run the background job, create a journal, and then report the results in a separate to the foreground process.

  • Windows 7 task scheduler - run if user logged in or not (DOES NOT WORK)

I have an exe thread created in visual studio 2013 requiring a run setting. I want to run at 14:00 on every day when user connected power by the windows Task Scheduler. I followed the steps to plan an exe to run through the Task Scheduler windows below.

Step 1: Created new task with the name "Billing Update", and I put it with option shown below run if user logged in or not.

Step 2: Configure option trigger run exe on all day at 14:00.

Step 3: Configure Action tab to select Billing.exe with arguments 2015.

Step 4: I clicked the ok button, he asked me the username, password to run the exe if you know if the user is logged in or not. I did put with appropriate credentials and hit ok.

When I connected to execution of the program, he has not worked.

I checked with the conditions below to run the program.

    1. I ran the program with the Option start-> run only when the user logged on. (Output result program worked)

    2. I ran the Notepad.exe program with Option-> Run or not connected user parameter. (Output-no result has no program)

    2. I checked for required securities to assign users, and General groups-> change user or groups for this I gave full access to the D:\Billing.exe program using security (output-no result has no program).

I googled out for the possible solution, but does not have a suitable, why Scheduler tasks done done do not run the program when I put the setting "Run if user logged in or not." Please advise me for the same thing with the detailed solution.

When you select "Run if user logged in or not ', then the task runs as a background process. He won't let users interact with it. You can tell by scheduling notepad.exe. After that task scheduler called notepad.exe you can see using tasklist.exe or by looking at the Task Manager.

  • Task Scheduler: run as the user who just logged?

I'm trying to implement a task in Vista Task Scheduler, and I want a task to run after a user connects (easy enough) and run as one coming from connect - that is to say use the user account of the person who just logged on, not a specific predefined user account.

    Can I do this?
I want to do this is because I want to send a notification that "user X comes to connect."  I'm trying to get the information of the user for example 'whoami' or username, but if the task is scheduled to be executed by using a predefined user account, then you get just the username of this user account preset, not the user name of the user who just logged.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

    Hi drmrbrewer,.

For your information; It is not possible to schedule a task to send a notification on the connection to the account through Windows Task Scheduler.

I did a GPO that runs on newspaper to run a file is to create a scheduled task on all computers in the domain. The bat file just run a file HTA I made to disconnect the user which allows them to have a warning and to delay the log off. It works well on our domain on windows 7 and XP machines with the exception of a handful of users (about 4 of 50 users). Among these four users, it disconnects every day 06:20 we disconnected about 08:30 and the other two will be disconnect randomly throughout the day. They are supposed to be disconnected at 17:30. The user who is disconnected at 06:20 has sometimes performed twice a day and one of them at the time. When I check the task on each machine, the parameters are properly. Run daily at 5:30, when the user is connected, run with the highest privileges. I searched endlessly, but nobody seems to know my exact problem. • Task Scheduler does not VB and Java tasks

Task Scheduler with the line of action

    "cmd.exe /K java.exe - version".

a new window does not open and is not running java.  The exact line is present in the Task Manager, as an instance of cmd.exe command line, but process Explorer 64-bit says that it uses cycles.  Absolutely none of my Java programs that have a window runs the Task Scheduler; run the Java programs in console mode.  It will even if I try to start using the run key in the registry.

I have three version of Windows 7 installed on this computer - one for each of the three mobos.  As a mobo closes I fixed it and use another installation of Win 7 on a different mobo.  On the previous version of Windows 7 that I used, VB Programs worked well, but one of them will not run on it.  He arrived at the place where it tries to show the first of the two windows and stops.  The other VB program runs until the end, with his window open.  I can't discern any difference between the two programs.  If I run a program from a toolbar or from the command line, all is well.

Java programs to run OK on this computer, but they just stopped one day.  I think it was an update.

It must be a security or a question of privilege, but I don't know what it is.

    Hello

You did changes to the computer before the show?

I suggest you follow these methods and check.

Method 1: Perform the clean boot and check.

To do this, follow the steps in this link:

NOTE: After you check the clean boot feature configure Windows to use a Normal startup using step 7 proposed in the above mentioned link.

Method 2: Run the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker and check if it helps.

Follow the shape of measures the following link: http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Method 3: Re-create the tasks and check.

  • After creating a task, it is not listed in the Task Scheduler Library.

    Hello

I created a system task to the system log. It was supposed to send an email to me whenever the event is logged.
After saving it, I wanted to get to the Task Scheduler Library, but it has not been listed. I tried to create the task again, but it is said that a task with the same name already exists. The event took place, and when I looked at the status of the task, it shows the name of the task with the result of success.
How can I remove / edit the task when I can't? Help appreciated.

  • Task Scheduler error: "... task: the task image is corrupt or...»

When I run the Task Scheduler which exactly follows the error message appears in a popup window: ' task32498346 task: the task image is damaged or has been tampered with. " None of the "solutions" I read on internet activity for me. Very detailed solution from Microsoft Support does work for me because the first step is to go to Task Scheduler Library and find the folder in which the corrupted task is in. I carefully searched the whole library, and there is certainly no 'task32498346' in the Task Scheduler Library. I'm not aware of all this causes me problems. Everything seems to work OK. I came just to have stumbled on this because I was curious how the Scheduler works. I looked in Services and Task Scheduler started. Despite do not cause me problems, I know, I want to get rid of this popup error message. Can someone help me, please?

    (Moved to repair and recovery)

Yes. The Earth is round. Does this have to do with my question?

-> OK, I'll specify it in detail. You must search for the folder C:\Windows\System32\Tasks of the existence of the file that generates the error message, i.e. task32498346. The file may be hidden.

  • Win7 anomalies__ Task Scheduler

Recently, as soon as I open the Task Scheduler, "" error message: the specified account name is not valid "appears." The same message is displayed for each task. When I "ESC" for each task (the only way to remove the error messages), I find myself where I should go in the first place, and where I see the CorruptionDetector and DecompressionFailureDetector of the tasks have yet again; Neither appears in the active tasks, strangely, so I can't make corrective changes.

The RACTask also disappeared entirely from work, and I don't know how to add it to check the reliability of the laptop. I have run the System Maintenance and no problems are detected. everything seems to work properly.

I simply ignored Task Scheduler in total, you know, the ostrich-head-in-the-sand routine and just go about my business of usual VAIO laptop that I use only for Internet. I thought I would mention it to you, dear friends... see what you think.

Oh, and I downloaded all updates for VAIO Care today only to find that the program is now completely corrupted, useless.

Very strange, huh? Or is my laptop under remote control of crackers?

    Hello

    ·        You are on a domain network?

You can try the steps below and check if this helps solve the problem.

    Method 1:

You can use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow the link below.

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

You can also check if the problem persists on a new user account. To create a new user account

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/create-a-user-account

    Step 2:

If the new user account works fine then the old account has been corrupted, you can follow the link given below to fix the corrupted user profile.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/fix-a-corrupted-user-profile

    Method 3:

If this does not help, try the below given steps and check if this is useful.

    (a) open the windows Explorer

    (b) go to C:\Windows\System32\Tasks\Microsoft\

    (c) select responses-

    Right-click d) reminders - and select Remove

    (e) click Yes to delete the task

    (f) close windows explore

    (g) open Task Scheduler

  • Run a Task Scheduler batch file not working

I have I have a batch copy file and rename it to a file.  It works fine when double click on it.  I set up to run on Task Scheduler using the wizard of Basic Actions.  To test the method, I did a simple batch file that displays the date and time and stored in the same folder as my desired batch file.  The Scheduler runs the simple bat very well.  When I try to launch the bat copy/rename file, it doesn't do anything, but I do not see the flash blue and see that the planner lists the task completed successfully.

Per a suggestion on this site tried to change the setting to "use if the user is logged in or not."  When I click on the box, I get a few indecipherable message on restrictions and password empty.  It is a single-user computer (w7 64-bit), and as far as I know, is free of passwords and restrictions...  Any help much appreciated, I have no hair left to tear.
