Schematic and parts - 85 watt Magsafe adapter 2

I'm developing a proof of concept project.  I found the end of the connector of the 85 watt power supply Magsafe2 has the pins I want for my project.  More precisely, the pins are the gold pin, spring, retract.  I would like to get information about the provider of these pins and the part number.  Photo of the pins is attached:

Thank you for the help and information.

Kind regards

Jim Sparkman

    Good evening

I am a very happy owner of a MacBook Pro 15 inch medio 2009. Yes still work after 7 years. At least it's better that the MacBook Pro from my little brother of 2011 that fell down right after the warranty expired and my iMac 27 inches which is now collecting dust in a room of friends and is in fact a beep very expensive device, but I digress, these are different stories altogether.

I want to talk to you about the MagSafe adapter. Today my second purchase card was getting the on-off-on thing. As you can probably guess that means a broken cable. Just the place where the cable meets the adapter. So no need to buy a new adapter fix my old one or find a replacement of second hand in some markets. Probably the scale of these three. I didn't intend to buy a new adapter via the Mac store because they are not exactly cheap (especially when you need to buy a new one every three years). As a side note, I just want to add that I always drive cable so that there is no strain on the connection (just do two coils, one for the power supply and one for the cable). I do not use clips added to the adapter I think personally you bend the cable too and that this will reduce the service life of the cable. I really hate these clips.

Please fix this problem. I'm not the only one with this problem. Just make a connection as the power cable! If its possible to disconnect the cable altogether. In this way, every three years (in collaboration with a new cable for my iPhone!) just to buy a new cable. Maybe make a package deal?

The second thing. When I bought my mac, I got the adapter in the form of T I liked how the cable would break when someone stumbles on the wires. The connector to break at every angle so it was also perfect. Right now, I have the adapter of the square. When I attach it on my mac with the wire that goes to the rear (as I usually do) the wire emerges not off directly when pulled the shape of the back and any direction from the back and going clockwise. If the Mac is to shot before the wire snaps finally off.

So that's all. Ow I almost forgot. Plastic feet came just after the warranty too haha. Later still a happy customer. I mean... laptop 7 years and continues to do better that most of the more recent Junk I see everywhere. With the exception of the games is... I play indie games now, for the most

You could look through the various models that are displayed on the next page (link)

  • Strange Magsafe adapter problem

I have a Macbook Pro 2011 and recently started using a new charger/adapter magsafe like old wore out. Initially the new charger worked fine but then the green light stopped show, and he stopped to load my Macbook. In order to isolate the problem, I borrowed magsafe adapter/charger my daughter and it worked fine and my magsafe adapter works fine on his Macbook. So what's past? If it's my computer then surely his charger would work either, but if it was my charger then how is he's working on his Macbook?

I'm totally confused with this one... I have reset the SMC, but beyond that, I completely disagree... If anyone can shed some light on it or something, I would be very grateful!

Magsafes are available in three or four sizes (power).   Yours is correct for your machine?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones, please advise me if I can use my Canadian Curve 9300 and PlayBook in England and parts of Europe?

Please let know us if I can use my Canadian Curve 9300 in England and parts of Europe... (I have a global SIM card) but do not know if a voltage higher than England could damage my phone and my PlayBook and Mini keyboard. Should I be concerned about the differences in power since my devices are made for North American use, I already plug adapters but without transformers etc.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Real power Chargers you use are the key... look over them and see what is printed on the voltage/amperage/etc. that they can deal with. Compare that to what will be where you will be. If they can manage the power supply where you are, then you will only need an adapter pin and not a real transformer.

In general, the BB devices can be used anywhere in the world with the delivery... loading devices simply to adapt the pins to the area that you are in. As a reference, I used BB devices (although get in the USA) in many many countries, including United Kingdom. But you actually have to look at your exact Chargers to be sure.

    Good luck!

I'm moving to Africa South of the United States for a year and want to know if I can use the same charger power in South Africa and just, but a plug adapter or do I need to get a new charger for AG?

    Hello

Today computer laptop Chargers can be used for normal electricity (110V to 250V) worldwide. All we need is a small card of similar adaptation the ones we use to travel abroad. Most of the electrical stores, travel agents and airports... sell them.

    Kind regards.

  • MagSafe adapter does not work after all the stuff that followed and merge card Ok?

My Megasafe duck-head adapter used with a Macbook pro has stopped working while my back was turned!

After trying all the controls and the actions described in the Apple support pages, it always dows not turn on or show any current to the small pins when checked with a multimeter.

It is the death of the adapter or can it receive some kind of CPR?

    Chris.

    Hello!

Could specify you which checks and actions you have done already?

Your MacBook came with both a cable to connect to the power supply and plug adapter. Could you try both to see if it works? You might just have a broken charger.

Please find instructions for that here: reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support

If the battery is good behaviour

    1. Stop the Mac.
    2. Plug the MagSafe or USB - C adapter to a power source and to your Mac.
    3. Use the built-in keyboard, press shift-control-Option on the left side of the keyboard, then press the power button at the same time.
    4. All the keys to unlock, then press the power button to turn on your Mac

    If the battery is removable

    1. Stop the Mac.
    2. Unplug the MagSafe from Mac power adapter.
    3. Remove the battery. (Learn about removing the battery in the MacBook and MacBook Pro computers).
    4. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    5. Reconnect the battery and the MagSafe power adapter.
    6. Press the power button to turn on the Mac.

    Thanks for posting the results!

  • I bought a 2 French MagSafe adapter for my Mac of USA. Can I also use the cord French him with my USA for the first Mac adapter?

We are the USA, but visit the France my MacAir and Macbook Pro husband. Both use the 2 MagSafe power adapter. So, I bought a power MagSafe 2 with French plugs adapter. Can we mix and match, while in France, using (1) the French MagSafe 2 adapter plug directly into the more (2) the French cord with adapter USA. In addition, we were worried we needed the voltage conversion of 240 to 110 while in France but the other, the old messages suggest that we could simply use an adaptor plug French with the USA MagSafe 2 even power adapter. Is this true?

You don't need a power converter. The Chargers can use 110-240 volts. Read the fine print on the charger (you will need a magnifying glass if your eyes are as bad as mine). The only part you need is the area plug the adapter to fit the wall socket.

  • HP Docking Station EN488AA - part number for power adapter

    Hello

I have a HP Compaq nx8220 laptop, with HP Docking Station EN488AA.

Unfortunately I lost the power supply for the docking station.

I always have the power supply for the laptop itself (393955-001), but they do not plug in to the docking station. This is the correct voltage but only 90 w instead of 120W, and the connector is the right size.

I search online for the part number for the power supply of the correct replacement for the dock, but it has become very confused when I found advertising sites the same spare part for the nx8220 and the EN488AA when they are clearly different because the plugs do not match. No specify the size of the plug so I don't know who is who.

Can someone help me identify the correct replacement part? Or better yet, is there an available adapter so I can use my power for the docking station too?

Attached are two photos - the plug of the power supply next to the entrance to the laptop (fits) and the dock (does not fit).

    Thank you

    EddieD97

  • Can I use an adapter 85 w (A1343) instead of my equipment MagSafe 60w MagSafe adapter (A1344) original?

I would like to know if my MBP (A1278) is allowed to run a (A1343) 85w power adapter the MagSafe in place and place the original 60w (A1344)?

If Yes is there power/performance benefits?

Or is it a total power overload?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated & thanks a lot in advance!

The computer will take only as much as necessary.  Using a charger 85W on 65W system uses under it.  The charger can burn the opposite - a charger 65W running on a system of 85W.

If I plug the adapter into the laptop, the mouse does not work and works otherwise.

Does anyone have an idea on what could be the problem.

    Please advise.

    Concerning
    Suri

    Hey Buddy,

Therefore, may I ask if the adapter that was purchased is an original toshiba AC adapter? Why didn t contact you a servicepartner, since they had probably had your sector-free adapter because you have something called guaranteed.

How Don t you know the adapter you have, there where he knows do not so it s original or not, do not damage anything on your motherboard for your machine.
Maybe it has nothing to do with your power adapter...

I would appreciate comments on your part just a small one description which CA is, when you bought your machine and if the error could be reproduced with the removal of the AC.

    Welcome them
