• Install on the new instance of SCOM 2012 Dell management packs, questions...

  I was given a task to install SCOM 2012 to monitor a lot of servers, including Dell.  Problem that I am running is when I try to install the Dell Management Pack, it keeps asking me for the Dell device to support COM + user/pass.  I put in the account to use us to access these machines, but it does not work.  I tried a few other user/pass, but nothing seems to work.  I'm really new to Dell servers (first time I'm doing business with them) so not sure what is the problem.  I can't find the good research to find a solution to this problem.

  Can anyone offer some advice?

  To extract members without providing identification of the AD information, you can run the Setup program on your desktop computer / laptop (no Windows Server version). The credentials of the AD are required for the configuration of a DLL, which is necessary for servers using WS - MAN (called Out-Of-Band followed in the product documentation).

• Slowness of console SCOM 2012 for new users

  We have installed SCOM SP1 2012. When we add a new user to the administration in the user role, and when the user logs on and opens the console then the SCOM console that the user works very slow. Please suggest if no update or workaround is needed.

• Groups PowerCLI and MS SCOM 2012

  We recently added 2012 at our data center which consists of servers HP Proliant ESXi 5.1 MS System Center.  We have packs of Directors of HP to manage physical servers but no MP (such as Veeam) for virtual machines.  Microsoft does not set the property of the Virtual Machine VMware, only for Hyper-V.  I want to create a group of just the VMs VMware, but there is nothing to differentiate the VMs from the physical Windows servers.  I can create the group manually, but at this time, it's stupid.  I tell myself that I can just put in place a Powershell script that retrieves the VMware VMs to a list, create a group of Operations Manager and fill in the list.  Child's play, right?  Except that there is a real lack of information to do this in Operations Manager.  I thought that I run it past the PowerCLI group and see if someone has already invented this wheel rather than reinventing myself.

  You can create an attribute that distinguishes vSphere VMs and then create a group based on this attribute.

  There are several ways to create such an attribute of vSPhere:

  • in the eyes of registry for HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VMTools
  • check with the manufacturer of BIOS, should contain VMware

• SCOM volume space alert

  I have installed SCOM 2012 R2 and one of the servers with the agent installed was a full Volume.  There was no alert generated and I'm looking for a way to alert when Volumes are full as logical disks.  On Server 2008 R2 Enterprise, in this case to a prompt 'wmic volume get freespace' back shows the free space left on the target volume.  It is one of the many servers with volumes not assigned to the logical drive letters.

  What should I do to receive alerts when the volumes are full?

• What happened to my swoosh?

  Can someone help me with best practices by putting R710 via a M6348 stacked with a cisco network.

  Our configuration is the following

  M1000e

  2 x 1 GB pass-through fabric a

  2 x M6348 wired in a pile in the B fabric

  6 x popular R710 with four NIC ports in the fabric B (3 are general purpose servers, 3 are Hyper-V servers in a cluster)

  Cisco network

  For most of the Cisco 3560 switches

  20 VLAN (1 per building) configured, mainly for the isolation of traffic (VLAN 300-320)

  What (I think) that we want to

  The M6348 connect to the core network in a SHIFT (4 x 1 GB ports. Can it be divided 2 ports each of the stacked M6348?)

  Have a mapping of right for 1-3 to VLAN 301 R710

  Configure R710 4-6 for access to all VLANS for the Hyper-V hosts can be placed on the VLAN correct

  Use the fabric for the connection to the San

  Network management is carried out by a third party (we are unable to change this) and they claim that they are unable to connect Cisco/Dell!

  Are we sure that the VLAN 301 IP address is 10.49.56.0? This doesn't seem fair.

  When we try to pings on the trunk/General connection to the Cisco switch, make sure you that the servers have the default gateway defined on the VLAN IP address they are in access mode. Thus, when in the access mode VLAN 301 the gateway server would need to be 10.49.56.0. I would like to verify that the IP address, however.

• VM does not see the 4 cores in Task Manager

  Hi, I installed test SCCM 2012 R2 SCOM 2012 R2 virtual servers running Windows Server 2012 R2 - vSphere infrastructure 5. I put these two to have 1 socket with 4 cores. But in the Task Manager, I do not see these 4 cores, only appears (photo attached) Although there is an info this computer has 1 Plug and 4 virtual processors. On another test server running Windows Server 2008 R2, I've implemented it have 1 socket with 2 hearts, and the two hearts are displayed in the Task Manager.

  You need to change the display of the Task Manager to display the four processors... to do this, right click on the chart-> graph change to-> logical processors.

  Discovery of the chassis VRTX is not a problem and everything is the value of the community string and run as account on SCOM - with the help of Dell support.

  We followed the post below and we we able to receive SCOM snmp traps, but this isn't what we want. We want to receive snmp traps from Dell management pack alerts.

  You must use run as accounts for detection and analysis. Please see installation and usage guides for instructions on setting up the accounts to run as for surveillance. Looks like you have already set up for the discovery, but you must set up an account run as for monitoring when you enable the feature:

• End of 2012 Mac Mini running slow - about to try the following

  Hi all

  The performance of my Mac Mini is trying to drop off and looking for possible solutions to this, I can in this thread: Mac Mini (end 2012) is a little slow.

  A few months ago I updated to El Capitan, and am now on 10.11.3.  Since this update, my system performance fell substantially. I would like to see if I can get my Mini for best results there lately.  One of the questions I think contributes to the Mini, less than excellent performance is my router configuration because of environmental constraints, my Mini has 2 walls and about 50 feet, which separates it from the wireless router.  Currently, I don't think that there is something I can do to help that issue, so for now, I put that side.

  In reading the above thread, I have also still only 4 original GB or RAM and the original supplied with my Mini.

  RAM: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

  HD: I have not changed the HD that came with the mini, so I guess I have the 2.5 GHz 500 GB (5400 RPM) hard drive it is stated in the specifications.

  Lately, I noticed Chrome running progressively slower (to the point of frustration).  Therefore, I uninstalled Chrome and returned using Safari.  As more and more, I use Safari, I think that his performance is what it is.  I tried the Brave and my experience with it is mixed (at least on this point).

  Question: I guess the first thing to do is to increase my RAM to 4 GB - and I will order the RAM here in a moment.  What browser is best to use in this case: Chrome? Safari? Brave? Something else?  Or it is better to run through all these during the upgrade of RAM is installed?

  We use SQL 2012 6.5.1 and 2012 R2 SCOM management pack for SQL monitoring.

  All servers SQL 2012 and R2 are discovering and monitoring works very well with any problem.

  But 2008 and 2008 R2 servers are not get discovered, we verified that all user-level permissions are fine.

  I hope you're fresh. I was wondering if I could you advice a few difficulties. I currently run a mid 2012 15 Macbook Pro with plug as follows:

  There always works incredibly well after nearly four years and never gave me any problems, but I use the likes of Adobe Premier, after effects etc for my day-to-day work day and I noticed that she began to struggle when we're trying to work and get a preview in real time of the most important projects and those that use 4 K images.
