Dell SupportAssist with SCOM integration
Dell SupportAssist solution can be activated to SCOM 2007 or SCOM 2012? So that for each alert of critical hardware failure generated in SCOM, an automated process is initiated to warn Dell and relevant records, reports and information on the warranty.
Hi Mary,
Please send a request by e-mail to [email protected] and we will send you the instructions to download the start for Microsoft SCOM eval code.
Thank you

SCAM or Virus posing as Dell SupportAssist?
This morning I had a popup indicating that it is Dell SupportAssist, with an "alert" that there was a problem with my PC. I did a quick check on the WEB that SupportAssist is a legitimate and observed program ago installed (or updated) 2 days, on the assumption of an automatic update of Dell.
To continue, the program asked me to confirm ownership by logging into my account of Dell. After that, he asked my name, phone and email to help me with my alert. Is this normal configured for this tool? Although suspicious, I have provided the information, which seems to hang when I tried to continue.
Now concerned, I started manually SupportAssist, noting that a different interface. I've killed the previous pop-up and changed my password from Dell with a slight hope that I was in time to prevent any spoofing, etc.. I did a scan with SupportAssist and no problems were detected. I ran my anti-virus, but no problems were detected.
The above behavior is normal for Dell SupportAssist? Y at - there no virus known (and how to remove) that appears like this Dell software? I have a XPS 12.
Concerned...
After the above, I got a Dell legitimate email thanking me to set up my Dell account. Although I opened it a long time ago, the address information has been significantly exceeded, it seems that this alert was simply to ensure that my personal account information has been updated and complete.
While I've heard of scams that ask for personal information and access to your computer, as well as a charge subsequent to solve this problem, the species seems to be legitimate. While SupportAssist looks like it might be useful, it bothered me that has been installed and executed without my consent. It would have been better for Dell to send an email explaining and offering of novelty, so it wouldn't be a surprise.

Reference Dell R810 with 'too' 10gig NICs, which could cause Group?
We run only integrated esxi U1 4.1 Dell R810 with 128 GB of ram and two CPUs from Intel 7560 8 - core server. They have 4 to 10 GB (2 dual-port maps) network cards and 4 on-board network to 1 GB cards. 10GB network adapters are all Intel X 520-2 (two ports) using the IGB driver.
They were CMTF ' ing randomly over the past weeks (but not more than once a week and only 3 of 18 servers with this same configuration have been CMTF). So we contacted Dell. After diligence analysis of their side, checking the logs, management versions of the BIOS, firmware, and other settings, etc. they are pointing the finger back at VMware (KB 1020808 in particular).
Dell claims their hardware config itself is absolutely perfect after first suspecting a power problem (from 4 NIC 10gig) which they have thrown from. So we are at a loss, short of removing the port double 10 GB network adapters and replacing them with single port 10 GB NIC (per article) since we currently only 2 of the 4 in use; I wanted just more for the future.
Based on the feedback/logic of Dell, these same PSODs could occur on ANY platform hardware provider server running 4.1 U1, if these servers were equipped with 4 10gig NIC and 4 1gig NIC.
We are all Jumbo-image not (for now) / 1500 MTU. That said, the article specifies "recommended" maximum:
For MTU 1500 configurations:
- ports of 10 G OR 4 x
- 16 x 1 G OR ports
- ports 2 x 10G + port 8 x 1 G
The closest is our generations/configs come in (which is 4 x 10G ports + port 4 x 1 G). Let's remove 2 10G ports by removing the two dual port 10G cards in there now, and replace single port 10G cards and see if the PSODs continue. If they do, Dell is for a world of pain. If they do not, then well, I guess that ESXi 4.1 U1 can only 'manage' 2x10G ports with up to 8 x 1 G ports, as they the article inferred.
Any feedback is welcome! Someone out there running ESXi builds (any manufacturer of server) with FOUR cards of 10 GB/ports in them? Thank you.
Your problem is 4 to 10 GB network adapters.
Replace them with a single HBA port.
If you * only * had four NICs 10GB then it would work, but nothing, including the NICs 1 GB will not work.
I saw a customer with this problem before and vmware support claimed with 4 10 GB NICS, adding an extra, including even just
an additional 1 GB nic will cause problems.

Reference Dell pc with xp family. Restart to the logon screen
Reference Dell pc with xp family. Restart to the logon screen. starts ok in safe mode. run msconfig and do that no change then do restart ok everything ok until the cold start, then hand it to restart?
Peek into the registry to find clues.
Disable the automatic restart in case of system error and see if you can capture a message of error checking bug (BSOD) with useful information. Automatic restart in the event of system failure can be disabled in the F8 advanced boot menu, or you can turn it off in system properties.
1. right click on my computer and select Properties.
2 - Click on the Advanced tab, and then click on the Start button and recovery settings.
3 clear the automatically restart box and OK your way out system properties.Start the computer in a Clean Boot State, if the computer starts successfully in a clean boot state, then one of your user programs most likely problems, look in the case of journal of indexes.

Computer Dell laptop with Windows 7, upgrade to IE9 and now the computer is slow
Original title: did someone really knows what I need to do?I have a Dell laptop with Windows 7 (I have set accidetally to level internet explorer to 9 widows. I need to Java and Adobe. But my computer is slow. I do not know what prorams that I need to run start or to uninstall... Someone really knows what I need to do?
FYI: with a topic like this, you have 2 strikes against you. Most of the people don't bother wasting time looking to see what your problem... Next time be brief and specific about your problem, is to give an application (with version) and the code error or describe your problem briefly.
If you don't want to be a Guinea pig, you can follow these instructions to uninstall Explorer 9:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Internet-Explorer/help/IE-9/How-do-i-install-or-uninstall-Internet-Explorer-9Looks like you want to control the programs that run at startup, right? It is always a good thing to do. You can run MSCONFIG (type in the search window on the start menu). See the "Startup" tab So, you can use other applications to display the same information. For example, CCleaner has a 'tool' that does the same thing. NirSoft does: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/what_run_in_startup.html
Browse the list of questions, and if you decide all. For example many applications load stub apps to speed up their startup. If you do not use all the days of the app, uncheck the box and it does not load. If you do not recognize, this is often the case, track the location of path or to register 'Command' to try to understand what program it is for. Use google to search for file names. Other people have asked the same question and got answers on the importance of the application is.
Related, another thing to work is 'Services' (new type who, in the start menu, look for the window). They are a special software that runs in the background to provide services such as faxing or printing. Yet once, often you need not all services. You can find a lot of information on how to do this in Google search for "Harden Win XP" or related expressions. They call it "Soak" because in this context deactivation of services makes your computer safer, more 'hard' hack by eliminating the places to be hacked. Don't you worry that many of the articles are 5 or more years, they will be still valid. Here are some links to help you get started:

Hello
Here's how to reinstall Vista with the Glens recovery Partition (if available to you):
"Restore your software Computer´s factory settings."
And this is how to use recovery provided Dell discs:
"Manually reinstall your Windows Vista operating system"
If necessary (if you have problems with discs), call Dell and ask them to provide you with a set of recovery disks Vista.
They do it for a small fee.
Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
See you soon.
