  If you can use with USB-6009 LM35 depends on the range of output voltage of the sensor. I understand that it requires a 5V supply with respect to the ground, which you can provide to the USB-6009 (more than 200 my should not come from the USB-6009).

  The maximum range of the USB-6009 is - 10V to + 10V, while the minimum range is - 1V to + 1V, also probably the output signal of the LM35 will be in this range. What you need to do is to compare the full range of the output signal with the range of the DAQ divided by 2exp (14) (because it is a 14 bit ADC) and ensure that the first is much more than the latter.

  A piezoelectric sensor with output load requires a signal conditioning circuit to convert a voltage of this accusation. While, in principle, a capacitor will do the job, in practice very careful circuit design may have to get accurate results.

  The 9232 NOR is designed to work with IEPE sensors, which have built-in signal conditioning.  If dig you deep enough into the specifications, you will find that the input impedance is 324000 ohms, which is much too low to work directly with a piezo sensor.

  You need a signal conditioner.  The data sheet that you have linked lists conditiners signal among the accessories.

  1. open the text file in a spreadsheet file.  You can connect a control of path or if left blank, it will prompt for a path.

  2. set the comma as separator.

  3. display the values on the graph.

  I just added a digital table indicator so that you can see the values as exactly those of the file.

My question is, if I do 2000 samples per second with 200 samples per channel, the amount of data will be generated? By using compression really will make a big difference in how much data I have to deal with that? I want to graph data 'real time' in certain circumstances, but usually save the file for post processing by another application. My tests can be run for several minutes. I looked at the things given compressed, and I didn't understand how I could read the data back and understand what data are intended to what channels and the amount of data belongs to each channel and each time slice.   How many channels are you reading from?  Samples per second, is what will tell you the amount of data that you produce.  Multiply this number by the number of channels and you will get the total number of samples per second of the generated data.  (The samples per channel determines just the size of buffer in continuous acquisition, so it is not used to determine the total amount of data being generated.)  Each sample will be 2 bytes, so the total amount of data will be 2 * 2000 * number of channels * number of seconds during which your test runs for. From your description, it sounds not compression is really necessary; just save your files regardless the other format your program can read (text delimited by tabs, or any other common format files) and do not worry about compression, unless the size of your files become prohibitive.

  This sensor has a digital output. NEITHER USB-6211 is data acquisition unit. You must have a sensor with analog output. It is not difficult to obtain. Ask the people who sold you your current temperature sensor

  Sensors with outputs RS-232 already have the analog-digital conversion.  You just need the USB RS232 converter. Many people have reported on the Forums that converters with FTDI chips seem to have less problems than other materials.

  You should also the Protocol of communication with manufacturers of sensors to correctly set the parameters of the serial port and to decode the results.
