  I have a MBP of 2007 running El Capitan (10.11.3) connected to an external monitor using the clamshell.   How to clean spots, I found after clweaning with some windex as a solution. Unfortunately, I sprayed the solution on the screen of the portable dv 7 that I wasn't supposed to.

  Basically, when I unplug the external screen, the main screen goes black and never turns on. Not even a restart helps. No adjustment or nothing.

  It is not possible to say where the dust came into the camera, but the camera is not airtight seal.  I don't have an estimate, I can give you, but if you send the camera to the authorized Service Center, they will provide you with forecasts for your approval before cleaning inside the camera.
