Screen saver starts sometimes incompatible

original title: incompatible screensavers

Hello - there seems to be a lot of people who talk about a situation of screensaver. If you set the screen saver to go [for example on the 60 seconds] often lights up once the way you set - but other opportunities to go on where there are sixty seconds on any activity - it will not go on 'properly '. It lights up and two or four minutes instead of in sixty seconds like you said.

Also...

Is there a webbsite that appear to explain the situation a bit. They said that if the screen saver turns on how put you it, but you move your mouse off the screen saver because you're here something to your computer - called a "rapid" your screensaver dismissal - they said that, supposedly, the computer is aware that you would rather the screensaver not go on immediately. Also supposedly because it is aware of this - it temporarily changes the screen saver. For example, it takes your second choice 60 for it to go and added as 15 seconds [60 + 15]. Supposed to be if it lights up and make you an another 'quick dismissal"your screensaver, he did something like [60 + 15 + 35]. If you do it again it supposed to be once again made something like [60 + 15 + 35 + 45] or something like that also. This webbsite also said that there is a way to make your computer do not do this and do your "strict" screen saver and always go on the way you put to go on. They did not mention if this is why they did it or if that's their opinion.

That's why...

A - why screensavers are often not on how you put them to go on - even if the mouse or keyboard is not moved somehow?

B is there a way to set the screen saver to always go on the way you put it to continue even if you move your mouse to take off for some reason?

    Hello

Does anyone know how to solve the problem with the screensaver kick watching a movie using Windows Media Player (WMP), even though I unchecked the option to "allow the screensaver during playback" in WMP?

I found that if I start Windows Media Center (WMC) first and watching TV for example or even listen to music in WMC and then then quit, then load WMP to watch an AVI, after the specified time, the screen saver starts, and the film is no longer visible until I move the mouse to stop the screen saver.  I know not if I reboot WMP works perfectly and no screensaver will start, which is not so much that I restart WMC, then switch back to WMP...

  • Start Screen Saver hot corner no longer works under macOS Sierra 10.12

I use Active corners to allow my screen saver lock my screen forever.  The hot corner "Start screen saver" no longer works after upgrade to Sierra 10.12.  'Put display to Sleep' hot corner doesn't work, as do other things like "Disable screensaver" and "Launchpad".  I tried reversing the triggers and active corners and can confirm that four corners work, but none of the corners can trigger action to launch the screensaver.

try restarting. works fine for me.

Well, usually the common screensaver that are pre-installed on the operating system to work properly. For the most part a screensaver 3rd party has a parameters.

  • Screen saver turns on and the keyboard or the mouse you want to start over.

I bought a HP Pavilion desktop computer PC p6-2016 and started to use December 10, 2011. It goes into screen save mode and won't wake up. The HP screen comes without office or on what I was working on. Some time it turns on and does not display Desktop. I have you turn off and on again (2 or 3 times) to operate. Help!

Make sure that you use the blue VGA cable OR white DVI cable to connect your pc to the screen. If both cables are connected, the pc can see the monitor as two different monitors, which can cause the behavior that you are experiencing.

I select a screen saver, set the time, apply and nothing.  This has happened before and corrected himself.  Maybe one setting in another program? It's on a laptop.

    Hello jerrylumpe

    1. If you use an old mouse, try to clean it.

    2. you can have a running process in the background that keeps XP thinking that he is busy and so the screen standby does not start.
Go to msconfig and uncheck everything you don't need, then see if the screensaver will kick in.

    Start/run and type
    Msconfig
    Ok

    Startup tab
Keep the page open then click on the link below. It will tell you what are all the entries and see if you can disable them or not

    http://www.SysInfo.org/STARTUPINFO.html

Read the key at the foot of the page, then click on "Here" at the top. Use the search box to check all your entries

    Try this too
    http://www.kellys-Korner-XP.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Line 51 left side. Click on "toggle".

It could be that something is resetting the timer. For example, it does take much vibration to move the mouse a little, and which will reset the timer to zero. Something like that would be possible? Or a pet that walks on the keyboard?

  • How can I keep the start screen saver in the same place every time?

When you use the screensaver on Windows Vista,

It always starts at the same point, with the same images - no other place.

If the screen saver works long enough, you later see photos at the end.

    but it's several hours!

It is set to randomly mix - but I think that is random within each file, and I have several files in 'photos '...

Because it begins with the same file of photos, I never see the images in files at the end.

    Help, please!

    Thank you

    Hello Terrahterrah,

I was looking for this thread and saw that you wanted the screensaver start on another folder or pick up where he left.

Unfortunately, we cannot control this in Windows without constant human intervention.

I would recommend looking for software third benefit from this feature.

  • Windows cannot start the screen saver

I get this message instead of a screen saver... no matter which, I chose. If I go to preview, all he says is that there is "no preview available".

It started this week. I install nothing new at the time it started, at least one week before, and I think it was actually longer than a week.
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2

Thank you! Home at last got to this do and method 1 worked. I could have lived without the screen saver, but I prefer it. Happy to have it work again.
