Screen stat IO by vcenter

Hello

Someone has an idea for monitoring IO stats through vcenter using Foglight?

Thank you

Hello

A lot of information I/O - as would typically be provided by a Linux server - is already available in Foglight when you use the cartridge VMware (or Foglight for virtualization Enterprise Edition) to gather the metrics of the vCenter.

That is what you are trying to reach, or that is what is missing in the views/dashboards for VMware?

I have an out of State driver blue screen open the Minidump file and the problem seems to be with netr7364.sys.  Now what should I do to solve the problem?  I did not any changes recently, so I don't know what could have caused the problem.

After uninstalling and restarting, the version of netr7364 is 4.00.00.0015.

    I had not recorded the vwifibus.sys version, but now is 6.1.7600.16385 (win7_rtm.090713 - 1255).

The RaCoInst.dll driver is no longer listed.

And now, he will recognize that the wireless network settings match!  It does not connect because it says that the password is incorrect, even if I am sure that it is in fact correct.  But that's a separate issue.  I think that would have solved my problem.  After some time with blue screens is no longer, I'll be sure.

  • Locking ESXi 4.1 mode access confirmation no access to the vCenter Server

    Hello

ESXi 4.1.  I see options in conflict with access to a crowd that had lockdown normal mode activated via a server vCenter VM on a host in the cluster.  The vCenter server that sits on one of the hosts in the cluster lockeddown then became inaccessible or unresponsive connectivity wise.  So no connectivity between vCenter VM or VM vCenter and hosts.  Is someone can confirm if you can connect to this host lockedown by DCUI with root and disable lockdown configuration to allow the vSphere client to then connect to the host with root and troubleshoot the server vCenter VM?

I read in some messages that this is only possible if the vCenter VM is in place and the communication to the host.  I also read that it is possible no matter what the State of the vCenter server once Total lockdown (disabling DCUI) is not enabled.

I have this reference of the 'The new lock in ESXi 4.1 Mode' blog http://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2010/09/the-new-lockdown-mode-in-esxi-41.html

"With active locking Mode, the only direct access to the host that remains open is through the DCUI. This allows to perform administrative tasks limited outside vCenter Server, such as restarting the management agents and the display of the log files. In addition, you can also disable Mode of Lockdown since the DCUI. This can be useful if vCenter Server is down or unavailable, and you want to return to a direct management of the host. Normally, without locking Mode, any user to the Administrator role can open a session in the DCUI.  However, in lock Mode, the root password is necessary; no other user can connect.

    Can anyone confirm.

Any other person who may not be sure these questions, I can confirm that with root credentials, you can connect to the host directly and disable the lock mode regardless of the availability of vCenter.  Only if the Total lock mode turned on, or should I say DCUI is disabled, then you have no choice but to go through vCenter or reinstall and reconfigure the network.  VM would be always available if local or have to be reassembled and re inventoried etc.

  • vCenter takes too much time to respond after the withdrawal of DC?

It is a weird one and might or might not be related, but I need help.

Yesterday, I finally had the time to blow up one of my old DCs (leaving other 3 x all global catalogs).   When I tried to take it off I hit the problem where it says

    The operation failed because

Active Directory domain services could not transfer the remaining data in the directory DC = ForestDnsZone partition, etc...

Research in this and following the guide here I could change it to a correct domain controller, and then remove all good scheduled class.  Form of share a brief replication error I think it was changes it all seems good.  dcdiags and repadmin checks show everything goes OK then I thought any good.

But then, a few hours later, I went to connect to vCenter to do something else and I get

"The server xxxxx was taking too long to respond. (The order has expired because the remote server taking too long to respond.)

Now, I had not been in vCenter that day but it was fine the day before so I'm not 100% sure if its related or not.  In any case, last night my backups of Veeam while working, took twice as long, but all long worked OK, if something looks upward.   My first thought was SSO was pointing to the deleted domain controller, it was not that I checked this and it shouldn't be anyway that one I removed was only a temp DC anyway.  So this morning, I restarted the VM vCenter and it restarts OK, services start but I cannot yet connect his too long to answer said.  Any ideas?  Is it related to the removal of DC?  Does not see why it would be with the exception of SSO who seems to find but chronology going home.

What's weird, is that if I try the web client on that a few times, he sits authentication in a long time and then finally allows me in and everything seems fine.  BUT, if say I go to the permissions section and try and add a my domain account, it is right there for a solid 3-5 minutes before completing all of my usernames, so it's out of AD...   You really don't know why he would do this because when I installed vCenter 4 years it's just 2 x DCs, this one I removed yesterday only installed 6-8 months when I was going to upgrade the domain controllers, but never got round to it, so it's just kind of sitting there waiting but I is no longer necessary so he decided to remove.

For reference, my domain name has 2 x 2003 DCs (DNS, GC etc. which are preferred and secondary), 1 x new 2008 R2 DC, which was OK in a few weeks and the 2008 deleted domain controller.  Also have Exchange 2003 still (going) but touch wood it seems OK as well, all correct DCs and GCs statement.

vCenter is 5.1 with 3 x 5.1 hosts also running.  vCenter is running on a 2003 R2 x 64 VM with SQL running on the same virtual computer.  DB is about 8 GB and log is 1.5 GB.

FWIW, I think I found the problem.

SSO was the basis of my domain name, that she always, but recently our office parent put in place a program called quest address book synchronization, which meant our small estate of 200 users had suddenly and extra few thousands of added entries.  Don't know no why he decided now is the time to break, but change the SSO to watch a smaller ORGANIZATIONAL unit and not the base for the domain DN solved my problem of access.

  • ESXi Update 2 work with vCenter 5.1 5.1 update 1?

We had some communication problems this past weekend, and our team Windows have not upgraded vCenter 5.1 update 1 to 2 of the update. While my team upgraded from some of our guests GA 5.1 ESXI Update 2 to fix some bugs. The hosts are still in maintenance mode.

We heard vCenter must always be a newer version than the hosts. Yet, the VMware compatibility matrix says may manage ESXi 5.1 5.1 vCenter update 1 update 2.

We use the DRS, HA and 1 FT vm. We distributed switch and switches Standard.

We will have problems? Which statement is accurate. vCenter must always be a newer version or the matrix?

    Hi Rutager,

You can manage the host with vCenter 5.1 U1 U2 5.1 ESXi no impact on Production or the DRS HA nothing. Please find the screenshot for your reference

This shows vCenter version 5.1 U1 can support up to 5.1 U2 ESXi host.

off experience only question we face is that the Update Manager will not be able to download patches beyond the U1 5.1 patches a few shots in accordance with baseline

Note: 5.1 U1 and U2 each thing will be same agent FDM. no change in architecture HA

  • How vCenter load adtribute the values of database?

    Dear brother,

I had a question: once I've created some attributes of vCenter, I add value for them. VCenter update/insert to vpx_field_val data table. This action always is ok. But when I update/insert of some value to this table, the vcenter cannot load show them. How does it work?

    Thanks for your replies.

    Best regards

    TuongHV

Are you up-to-date manually values you connecting to the database?  I very strongly recommend you don't do that.

I think it's correct execute select statements on the vCenter database, but I would write only manually make off vCenter.

Sometimes, you have to write to the database, for example if you remove the Administrators group administrators and want more to get authorities to restore access.

If you want the script changes to attribute values that I would recommend using PowerCLI for this.  It is easier and safer.

  • The vCenter Agent to 4.1 upgrade

    Good afternoon!

I just built a 64-bit VM to host my server vCenter Server 4.1.  I install the vCenter server software and installation is indicating that it needs to update the vCenter Agent on all hosts.  If I choose Auto and allow installation to upgrade the agents (4.0), this will affect my VM production environment?  This should be done in a maintenance window or it will cause the end of production of VM?  Thank you for your help.

No this will not affect production, the vCenter agent will pass on your ESX(I) hosts.  However, you can see the guests enter a State of disconnection/not responding during this time, which is normal.  I prefer the value my conservative DRS (5 stars) because sometimes during the upgrade many DRS events are generated as your inventory appears to be in a disconnected state.  Once all your guests and you can return to a State connected in vCenter you can enable DRS back to what it was before.

  • Satellite C660 - 26G - unexpected error after removing the USB

Hello all, I need help here.

I have a Satellite C660 - 26G, 2 days and a USB key has been removed from the laptop while he was working, and I think that caused a kind of corruption.

The machine starts, passes the logo and the windows, come the white loading bar along the bottom of the screen. It freezes about 1/3 of the way along and then throws an error screen indicating the following:

"Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device, such as an external USB drive, while the disc is used... and so on... »

It says to plug it back in and restart the machine.

I tried this and always the same, I even connected on the two available ports and nothing helps, the same problem exists.

Now, the forum search, I thought of nothing else but to restore the factory settings, because they don't have has no physical disks provided with the new machine.

Use of the restart and the results of the F8 method in action and same error in the end.

    Bottom of the error screen States;

    Status: 0xc00000e9
Info: An unexpected i/o error has occurred.

    Help, please?

    > Using the reboot and the results of the F8 method in action and same error in the end.
If you are not able to get the advanced boot menu that appears by pressing F8 at the beginning of the right procedure initialization?

HM in this case, I would recommend testing new OS install could be the last resort in this case.

  • Install the new hard drive, I have no os or backup recovery disks

I have a HP G62-340US notebook pc-product # XH066UA #ABA, OS is windows 7 64 bit.   The hard drive does not work so I'm relpacing with a new.  I have no os disks and any backup recovery.  When I turn on the laptop there that peripheral black splash screen States 3FO hard drive not found.

My question is that I don't know what drives I need to order at HP to reformat my laptop.  Again, I have no backup disk or any disks. I lost everything on the laptop. which is ok.  So it's like I'm starting with a blank slate.

Should I order the kit Media Ststem recovery for consumer notebook, which is a set of 4 discs?   and that's all that I need to install to return to the State wherever it was when I bought it new.  Are there other discs that I need to order or just that?

Thank you very much for your help.

You just order a SET of recovery disks and this disc set will bring your machine to update 1 than why we call back to factory settings. Please check how to order from the following link:

  • Front panel locked, but not due to the structure of the event

    Hi it LV community.

I did a staemachine program that executes an oscilloscope (screenshot of a provided below... the State of the problem). I ran my program yesterday and it worked very well. Then, like a model, a dialog box opens and I just clicked on it in a hurry. now my front hangs as soon as I move the above-mentioned State "the Oscilloscope settings.

As indicated, I have go a repeat loop that collects successive impulses of my oscilloscope and displays on the front panel (it works fine). In parallel, I have a structure of the event that makes the tail for the real-time feedback of changes to parameters that I placed on the façade (exodus of state change).

Here's the problem: as soon as I State 'Oscilloscope Settings' using a Boolean button on the front panel for get me there, the front hangs... No event triggered by this point, and even if it did, I already deselected the "Lock panel until the end of the matter for this event" checkbox in the case where the structure menu.

So WHY is my front lock now? Thoughts anyone?

Read the detailed help for event structures.

He urged that a single event structure serve in a VI. There are moments where more can be used effectively, but caution and a thorough understanding of the structure are needed.

The problem is that you have several structures of the event in the various cases of the state machine and they are set to respond to the same events.

When the button Set Oscilloscope, the structures of the event in the purchase Menu and home screen States receive the event. The two lock the screen, but only one of these cases may work. It can transfer control to the State of the Oscilloscope settings, but the other event responding to this same event structure maintains the locked Panel.

The solution is not not to release any of the event. The default value is usually the best setting. The best solution is to spend on an architecture of producer/consumer (events). Who uses two parallel loops. The producer has the one and the only structure of the event and passes orders to consumer loop through a queue.

Probalby want as the mechanical action on the buttons to lock when you press. Put kiosks inside the respective case of event changed value and local variables becomes unnecessary.

  • Cannot access the BIOS on Aspire M

    Greetings, Acer community.

I am a junior high school with a year + old Acer computer which broke down twice and is now out of warranty.  I bought this computer with my own money.

My laptop Aspire M does not start because of the 'boot configuration file becoming invalid', that's at least what the blue screen States "recovery."  The offeres blue screen with "press Esc for UEFI firmware settings, but is not admissible.  I tried F2, F8, F10, Alt + F10, F12, bar space, Delete, and pause to try and activate the BIOS interface, just as unsuccessful.

I followed the instructions to buy Acer recovery tools, but without being able to access the BIOS to set the boot order, I just sank another $25 in a laptop that does not work.

The cost of the service exceeds the cost of the laptop, so I tend to keep trying to fix it myself.  If he can't ' be repaired, there is little chance I will buy a new Acer to replace as this has been a very frustrating experience.

    Help, please.

    -Lauren

    Update!

Well, first, I removed the HARD drive to try to get the BIOS F2-interruption of the boot sequence.  No luck.  So, it was off looking for the battery CMOS, which I thought might help interruption control W8 (or something else) could have on my sequence start, and as such, did not get to the BIOS screens.

AND while poking around on the forums, YouTube and the manual - I found on the ACER site, I came across the port of "battery reset" on the merits of the case, which could be used for all disconnect all power from the system.  Seemed to be a promising option.  So, before you tinker with the CMOS, I pressed the reset button of battery for 4 seconds, using a small paper clip and VOILA!, after a power cycle, the bios screens were once more accessible usign F2, etc.  (Obviously, the keyboard is working very well.)

I returned to screens Alt + F10 to try to * repair * the system using the functions of recovery aboard, but NONE of these options might work, they complain of a locked hard drive no boot device, the missing files of corruption or start-up sector.  Partial, complete repair, troubleshooting, none of this would work.

Thus, using the system discs that I had already bought, I searched recharge the system entirely.  After you change the boot sequence, placing the CD/DVD drive to the top of the list, I inserted the disc system, rebooted and was on my way.

I worked my way through the recovery system, three discs and your language and wait now for the freshly loaded operatign system complete the installation of all hardware and software components.  I am sure that this will solve my problem.

I just wish that I would have realized that this little stupid option disconnect battery existed a few weeks ago.  Persistence is paying off, I guess.
