Screensaver - Windows Live Photo Gallery - error 'an error prevents this slideshow to play' message
Thank you for your time.
On a new installation of Win7Pro screensaver Photo Gallery does not work as you wish.
It is set up for the default value of C:\USERS\***\PICTURES.
This setting causes the error.
If I select a subdirectory of it, it works fine.
Resolutions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support.

Hey Wilson,
This problem may occur if you have any other type of file outside of image files that are stored in the photo folder.
I suggest you to check that all the files in the folder of photo image files. If you find other types of files as the video file or a music file or any other type of files, I suggest going the other files except the file image to a separate folder or another location and check to see if the screensaver in the photo gallery works just fine.
I hope this helps. Let us know the status.
Thank you and best regards,

Windows Live Error Msg Photo Gallery: "an error prevents this slideshow to play."
I have a Dell 9100 running windows 7 Ultimate. The screen saver was working well with "Windows Live Photo Gallery" selected until two days ago, when the error message "an error prevents this slideshow to play." began to appear. The screensaver works well with all the other selections in the screen saver drop down. I tried to adjust the power settings and clicked on the 'read only' button for the screen saver as suggested in previous posts, nothing is done. What to do next?

Windows Live Photo Gallery is a database that can
corrupted. (it is not affected by the uninstall /)
relocation of WLPG)If you rename the file... it will force the photo gallery to create a
new database file the next time, it is launched and the Gallery
will be as it was the first time it was launched.I'm not positive that this will solve the problem that you are
dealing with but if you want to test, the file name
is... Pictures.PD6.Just rename it to OLDPictures.pd6. This can cause you to
lose tags and metadata that are not rewritten on
the photo files. The path to the file is:
Windows\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\

an error prevents this slideshow to play
My screensaver shows is no longer my photo slideshow. He said: "an error prevents this slideshow to play." I tried a system restore but it also says there is an error a cannot restore the system. I don't know what to do
Goto library > images and everything above, see tab photo tools (yellow on my screen). Below is another tab 'manage '. Click on manage and then left click on the slideshow icon. There may be a flurry of activity on a dialog box and in a few seconds the box closes. When this happens, press the windows key and find your photo on the home page icon and click on it. You should be ok now.

Why "Windows Live Photo Gallery" open automatically every time I have save a jpeg image?
Whenever I have save a JPEG of a website for Windows Live Photo Gallery automatically opens.
This has only started happening recently. How can I stop too?I went to options and clicked the 'open Windows Live Photo Gallery after importing files' option, but it still appears. It seems to only be with jpeg images.Hello Michael,
Has probably had a modified default parameter. To do this: go to control panel and select default programs. When that opens the first series to select your default programs, when this window opens select Windows Live Photo Gallery in the left column and choose defaults for this program on the right side. When this window opens, make sure that the JPEG is not selected. Save your changes and then OK yourself.
And to the home page by default, select programs associate any type of file or Protocol with a program. When this window opens to scroll to the bottom of the left side of the window until you get registration .jpeg. If the default associated program isn't one you want, go to top right and click on change program... When this window opens, either select a program from the list, select one of the other list of programs, or click Browse and select the program in the Explorer style list that is offered.
Let me know if this solves the problem for you.
Kind regards
BearPup
