  Hi all.  I wonder if there is a script for indesign that allow me to put the file name / and identifiers of color at the bottom of the Document.  Also, who will all place me information where I want.  For ex...   I want to send a task to plates and rather than manually enter the name of the file - Date and time - and colors on the bottom of the plate/file.  I know that when I go to export a file or print a file it is check box to put the information on the file page and it does what I want however he put the information too low on the plate.  He added the information down into the corner of the plate area and receiving not Burnt or processed in this area.  I need a script to back up the information, if we read.

  First of all, I would not recommend research by sending your files to Indesign as postscript, if your normal process is a PDF workflow. PostScript does not support some features on various output devices. When the postscript from Indesign, you can run into CMYK printing issues when dealing with PDF files and other works of art that contain some transparency effects and mixing modes that cannot be interpreted by the postscript or cannot flatten properly.

  My employer uses a script Indesign, we have developed which can be something similar to what you are looking to accomplish. If your plate is always the same size, you can create a model of tax file in Indesign with job info, color chart, date and time, and you want to integrate the model tax. You can use a script Indesign to automatically update the model every time that you print in PDF format (which can be done by adding a custom ease menu item).

  Plate files vary from a file in a file, you can convert the file name, time, blocks of color name text in an Indesign library item and drop it right in the position desired on each individual plate installation. You will not have to change these items, you will only place a group element where you want to go.

• Problem of numbered list in InDesign using paragraph Styles Code syntax highlighter

• script to replace a paragraph style with a different styles, both within a folder

  I am trying to write a script that will remove a paragraph style or character and then replace it with another paragraph or character style, both are in a folder within these groups of style. I have tried so many different scripts and that you have not found the right combination to work.

  To target a paragraph style that is in a folder, you will have to tunnel to him through groups of styles, thus:

  Style1 = app.activeDocument.paragraphStyleGroups.itemByName("Group1").paragraphStyleGroups.itemByN ame("Group2").paragraphStyles.itemByName ("myParagraphStyle");

  Then find the second style (one you want to replace by):

  Style2 = app.activeDocument.paragraphStyleGroups.itemByName("GroupA").paragraphStyles.itemByName ("AnotherParaStyle");

  Simple and then remove the first style, replace it with the second:

  Style1.Remove (Style2);

• InDesign CS4 - Paragraph Style - Justification applying do not

  Hello

  I'm in College and Indesign is the software that we use for our projects.  The version we have is CS4.  It is the second project where I had a problem with the rationale.  I can use the justification above icons to move the text where I want to after you apply the paragraph style, but what causes the override bit + appears and which is not allowed.  My instructor says that we should use the style itself.  I am happy to do and found the area of justification in the paragraph style settings, however, any justification I specify (with the text highlighted and preview enabled), the text does not move.  I've also set it, applied, and then decided to go back to the document, just in case it was a mistake to read-only, but it doesn't always.

  I have to justify everything THEN apply the paragraph style to work around this problem?  If the option of justification in the paragraph style settings does not actually move the text-this is expected end?

  It is difficult to say without seeing what you have. Can you do a similar to this screenshot:

• InDesign, fusion and mailing: change of the function "record per page.

  I am a new user of InDesign and have a problem that I spent several days trying to correct.  In short, we are 'attempt' create our product catalog by importing our QuickBooks data (such as a csv or txt file).

  I think I've isolated the problem to the installation of "records per page.

  For some reason any, when I open the .csv or .txt file (window > utility > data merge).

  Since the Panel to merge the data, I select the source file, and the box 'Create a merged Document' begins.

  However, the ID is defaulting to one record per page.  When I open the presentation of Multiple recording tab I get... "optiion disabled because only the record is selected... »

  I spent several days of reading every post I could find on this and I go brain dead.  Can someone help me out here?

  Thank you for taking the time to put video capture whole.  Unfortunately, he is suspended until about a third of the way through...

  What he shows is open a blank sheet, opening Pages and opening and then merge the data...

  As you can see on the below two screen captures, I don't even get the ability to merge data into my Pages dialog box...?

  I have re-installed ID - probably didn't need to do - and delete the cache files and the Setup program that was the culprit.  Now works perfectly... go figure :-)

• How to: using the same control panel for several vi and reproducing change to the control panel.

  I created a labview project that contains about 40 vi.  Each vi has a joint control panel which is a group of ip address, or address of the port and the parameters that are passed high-level vi at low level vi for the purpose of control and access our daq cards.  As this control panel exists in all the vi and must not be the same there is a problem when the need to make a change or update the controls during development.  The problem is how long it takes to go and change the control panel of each single vi.  I wish I had a way of reproducing a change in the Panel of control through all six simultaneously.

  All controls in the control panel are in a bundle, so all values are passed to 1 thread.

  I tried to turn the Panel in a sub vi and this way I can just "create control" and have output parameters maniuplate vi, but if I update the vi, I still have to go back and create a new control for each vi under the control has changed.

  I tried using secondary and the creation of the control panel in a sub vi which is displayed in the secondary, but gives the undesirable consequence of not being able to view or change the settings of the control panel if the program does not work, as pristine as when sub-panels program does not work.

  Is there a another way to display the front panel of a Subvi next using a panel of void?  Is there a better way to propagate changes in a bundle in a series of vi?

  Yes a def type might help you and I would take the next step to make a strict type def if you want the look to be the same on all its bodies. You can also view this nugget on Type definitions for more idea about it.

  Yes, with the following exceptions:

  1 no browser-specific code. (no document, window, etc.)

  2. no modern Javascript features will not work. ExtendScript uses an older version of SpiderMonkey under the hood. Stick to ECMAScript 4.

  It is worth noting that ExtendScript supports E4X, XML is a first class citizen.

  I'm afraid that you run into something that had been predicted: CS6 since will never be updated (Adobe has stated it clearly for at least three years), this problem will never be solved. The current version of InDesign CC 2015 works very well and has been updated to resolve this issue.

  Either, you will have to live with it, or upgrade to InDesign CC, I'm afraid.

• script to duplicate the standard paragraph style, and then change the size of the character point

  I want to create a script that will create a cascade of paragraph based on the style settings [standard paragraph] styles. My goal is to point size of each new paragraph style character as a percentage of the original [standard paragraph]. So if [standard paragraph] is 100% (point character size 10pt), the script would create a paragraph style called 120% ' that has a point size of character of 12 points. Then 133%, 140%, and on and on. I modified a script found on this forum to generate these new styles, but I don't know how to be based on the [standard paragraph]. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

• Need help to create a Script for the labelling of Finder of Indesign files

  Try to find a way to have a script run in InDesign CS4, who tagged a RED text file once it's been imported into InDesign.

  Import multiple text files in an InDesign template. Since there are several text files in the same folder, it must somehow 'delineate' that we have imported this file and move to the next import. I created a 'service' with a keyboard shortcut Automator to label the Red file in the finder, but it would be great if we could have this occurs automatically after we imported in InDesign.

  If import us the text wrong by accident and it gets missed in fermentation, it costs us a lot of money with the printer.

  You can expand on it pretty easily. The script for InDesign dictionary must be in the Library palette in the Applescript editor and the docs for Applescript are all online.

  If you need further assistance, you may wish to ask someone to write a complete script for you to spec for real moneyz.
