Script / keyboard shortcut to switch to full-screen Fusion

Just upgraded to Yosemite and Fusion 7 of Mavericks and Fusion 6. I have a script (which I think some time ago, I've seen here) that before would switch me to a full screen of merger: -.

Tell application "VMware Fusion"

activate

c the value "Windows 8 x 32 (was VLS XP Home Edition product key)"

the thiswinID value (identifier of the article 1 of the (get all windows whose name contains c))

the window id thiswinID index value 1

tell the end

I now get an error message "error" VMware Fusion has been an error: can not get all windows whose name contains \"Windows 8 x 32 (was the key to product XP Home Edition VLS)------". "" "number-1728"»

"Windows 8 x 32 (was XP Home Edition VLS product key): is the name of the Virtual Machine.

I wasn't able to track down this error code again, but does anyone have an idea why the script no longer works?

Thanks for any thoughts

Jim

Unfortunately, it seems that VMware has decided to no longer support AppleScript that VMware Fusion 7 is not bundled with an AppleScript dictionary.  Take a look at the following discussion: VMware removed support for AppleScript in Fusion 7?

  • Keyboard shortcut to exit the full screen? (no, not alt-ctrl)

    I'm using VMWare workstation on a laptop. The host is Windows 7 x 64, the guest is Ubuntu 10.10.

    The laptop, when I'm at work, hangs in a display of 1200 x 1600 portrait as second screen and 1280 x 800 display integrated as the main screen. In general, I'll put the instance of Ubuntu on the second screen and click full screen in the toolbar.

    When I SLEEP the laptop and disconnect the screen and then later to wake the portable computer, the prompt returns with a wide black border around it. This means that the display he uses is largely out of the limits of the office - but much of the top left of the screen is still visible.

    I think that, if I could leave the guest full screen (say, back to the window mode) and enter again full-screen, it would actually take charge main screen and resize to 1280 x 800. However, I can't figure out how actually the VMWare instance exit believe that it is in full screen mode. Normally, I get a drop-down menu to control this (minimize and UN-fullscreen window control widgets) when I move the cursor to the top of the screen, but this menu does not appear at the top of the screen as indicated in the comments (which then has a wide black border), or top of the physical screen.

    Is there a command line tool Linux, or a combination of secret keys or something to use on the host computer, what can come out of the instance of VMWare what she believes is in full screen mode? Some WM_WHATEVER message I can send to it? Another option?

    Hello

    Don't know if you have tried this: CTRL + ALT + ENTER - this should you return to windowed mode.

    Kind regards

  • vmrun start < vmx-> option to switch to full-screen mode?

    Hello!

    y at - it an option for the vmrun command switch to full-screen-mode from a virtual machine?

    I found an option to start a virtual in the background, but nothing about machine indicating a with GUI and full-screen mode. Is this possible?

    tps800 wrote: y at - it an option for the vmrun command switch to full-screen-mode from a virtual machine?

    "" Apart authentication flag, for example "t ws" without the quotes, start of the executable vmrun command takes two parameters, the first being 'Vmx file path' and the second being one of the following ' [gui | nogui]. " so I would say that the answer to your question is no.

    For example: ws t vmrun start "c:\my VMs\myVM.vmx" gui

    I found an option to start a virtual in the background, but nothing about machine indicating a with GUI and full-screen mode. Is this possible?

    A solution would be to use something scripted in the first configuration of the VM target .vmx file is checked for the following 3 options and set as and then call vmrun then by the script.

    gui.fullScreenAtPowerOn = 'TRUE '.

    gui.viewModeAtPowerOn = "full screen".

    gui.lastPoweredViewMode = "full screen".

    It's much easier to do on a Linux host, even if it can also be done on a Windows host.

  • every time I have a video on youtube, if I switch to full screen, have stamped all over again. any video's. need help

    I watch a video in youtube innormal screen (small), but when I go fullscreen, there stamped all over again. need help

    This is because when you switch to full-screen, youtube will switch to a higher resolution and low resolution buffer releases. It has nothing to do with Firefox. See this article for possible solutions: http://www.gtricks.com/youtube-tricks/full-screen-deletes-buffer-maximizing-problem/

  • Y at - it a keyboard shortcut for switching windows?

    I see that there is a keyboard shortcut for switching tabs in a window of Firefox, but I would also like one to switch between the windows of the browser. I guess it's easier on Windows, where each browser window kind of behaves as an application separate, but on the Mac OS, an application can have multiple windows. Thus, the operating system does not provide supported to switch between browser windows via a keyboard shortcut; It allows to switch between applications, which brings all of the windows in the application target forward.

    To switch between using Firefox windows: Cmd (Shift) + ~ (Tilde)

    Hi Ajay,

    I use those in construction.

    What you said is correct.

    Alchemy, bars and waves, battery and wmp10 energy bliss visualization are incapable of playing full screen? I've used them previously (chemistry, specifically) full front screen on randomization.

    Edit: for some strange reason, is it now works fine, but it always intrigues me = D

  • Keyboard shortcut to switch from the point of view of culture and harvest

    I often change between Perspective culture and harvest all working on a group of images.  I know that I can easily switch between the two with my rodent, but I prefer a keyboard shortcut. 'C' switches to the current type of the harvest, but often is not the one I want.

    Some examples after all editing is done. .

    I typically work on 3-4 images for a single image. In the first, I use agricultural Perspective for squares to the top of the image. In the second, and others, I use a normal harvest. I'm in class for a group of more than 100 executives.

    You can configure it by editing keyboard shortcuts.

    I use K for cropping and C tool for perspective cropping tool.

  • Keyboard shortcut to switch between the dialog box option buttons

    Usually, you can switch between the radio buttons in a dialog on Mac using the Tab key. But this does not work for me in Photoshop dialog boxes, including the dialog box for canvas turning. On windows, its so useful to use keyboard shortcuts to switch between 'Clockwise' and 'Left' in the rotation dialog box.

    How to use keyboard shortcuts to switch between the radio buttons in a dialog box in Photoshop?

    In the Mac system preferences > keyboard, you can set the Tab key to focus on all of the controls. (At the bottom of the dialog box). So I can tab over an option button in Firefox preferences and use the up/down arrow keys to move among option buttons.

    So far, the problem is that Photoshop will not return to this setting. Tab is reserved for numeric fields only.

  • Shortcut to maximize to full screen?

    Is there a way in which we could open programs using the full screen without having to find the "little green toggle?    It's wonderful to have a shortcut to "minimize", but unfortunately the reverse seems to be impossible to get.

    I use El Capitan 10.11.1 on a MacBook Air - end of 2010 and have recently switched from Windows and I am struggling to adapt.  I can't find software third in the App Store that seems to be good.  Is it possible to assign a "shortcut"?

    Control F goes into full screen mode (at least with many programs).

  • Keyboard shortcut to switch between the pixels and inches?

    Does anyone know if a keyboard shortcut allowing me to switch between the pixels and inches in photoshop cs6/cloud?

    You can change your keyboard Short and add your own shortcuts.  An easy thing to do would be to write a small script him would recover the units of Photoshop preferences and rule if its pixels switch in inches and if he switch inch toggle pixels between the two.  Once you have this script record an action that uses the scriot and assign a shortcut to the action key.

    if (app.preferences.rulerUnits==Units.PIXELS){app.preferences.rulerUnits=Units.INCHES;}
    else { if (app.preferences.rulerUnits==Units.INCHES){app.preferences.rulerUnits=Units.PIXELS;} }

  • Keyboard shortcut for switching monitors

    I have 2 monitors attached to my system, one of them is on the desktop when I'm sitting at the computer and the second monitor is on the wall in front of my bed, so I can watch movies and play games while I'm in my bed, I never use two of the same thing at the same time , I use on the desktop or on the wall, never both.

    I wish there was a keyboard shortcut that allows you to quickly switch between monitors.

    Now, in Windows Vista to pass the main monitors that I have to do this: go to display settings, select the monitor I want to be primany and then turn off the monitor I do not want to use, and then it gives me 15 seconds to say yes or no on the new display settings.

    I wish I could do it quickly with a shortcut key Windows + M or something.

    It is not available in Vista and he could find no 3rd party addons, which offers this option.  Here, an article on how to create your own shortcuts in Vista: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/74063-keyboard-shortcut.html.  The problem is that I don't know what program is used to switch between monitors - if we could find out, we could create our own shortcut key.  I keep lookig but I've been looking for a while now and haven't found anything.  Try to give it a shot yourself.

    Try to download Process Monitor, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx and see if that helps to locate changes and/or running programs when you change monitors in the ordinary way.  Perhap we find the control program or maybe the registry key responsible for this behavior.  I don't know if it will help, but it may be a step in the right direction.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • When you open a PDF file, it automatically prints & switches to full screen mode

    First of all, I apologize if it's in the category wrong forum - I couldn't find a category that corresponds to this number, something like 'implementation of the software.

    I use Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows 10.  The software works very well.

    However, whenever I open a PDF file, the software automatically opens a dialogue box invites me to print the PDF file.  Usually I do not want to print the PDF and have quit the dialog box.  Second, once I left out of the print dialog box, the software invites me to indicate that if I want to put the document in view full screen, which usually I don't want to do and to get out of it, I have to leave another dialogue box.

    I don't want to get out of these dialogs whenever I open a PDF file.  I just want to see the PDF file.  That's all.

    How can I configure the software so that it does not prompt me for that?

    First of all, even if works well, Acrobat 9 is not officially compatible with Windows 10, so some problems are to be expected.

    However, the behavior that you describe is usually caused by a script or parameters incorporated into the files you open, not in the application itself.

  • Shortcut keyboard/shortcuts for switching between monitors - GeForce 8800 M GTX?

    Hello world

    I have a portable XPS1730 with card Dual 512 MB GeForce 8800 M GTX running on Vista SP1 32 and I was wondering if there is a way to set up a keyboard shortcut to move applications between the laptop screen and my second monitor (a 24 '' Dell). It's a real pain to them lying around all the time.

    I have an ATI card on another machine and configuration Ctrl-Alt-1 and Ctrl-Alt-2 to the application monitor 1 or 2 and it's really convenient. I guess the next best thing to having a keyboard shortcut would be to have some sort of control in the title bar of each window to do it-supported ATI card that also.

    The NVidia Control Panel seems to have limited functionality, unless I'm missing something?

    Thank you!
