  I have a windows VM, which must be connected to a load of RAW LUN mapped. These LUNS (storage symmetrix btw) were all presented through their esx host and were confirmed by the SAN guys and myself. The question I have now is how can I confirm what the label of "vml.xxx" for each raw mapped LUNs (I can't scroll all the way to confirm what it is!). I need this information so I can marry until Dev ID is presented in which logic unit number. The virtual machine is running and needs to stay on as long as its prod. So my question is, is there a way to know what the full title of the map file is please?

• Move a virtual machine that has a raw lun mapped to SAN

  Dear all,

  I need expert advice for this case. I have a virtual machine on a host with esxi 4.0, but due to many machines same virtual host we are experiencing memory problems and have decided to move this virtual machine to another host with less VM and less use of resources.

  I plan 1 HR time to perform this task, this virtual machine have two drives one windows partition and the second 20 GB as mapped lun on SAN. So when you move it to another host, what I'll do is tap to stop the virtual machine, go to another host and storage switch to VM folder and add the VM.vmx file to add it to the inventory of the new host. What about the case of raw LUN mapped, how to take care of it.

  Please advise, it is little urgent.

  I guess there is no vCenter at stake here and you have no option for vMotion? The RDM, I would like to stop the virtual machine, detach the RDM LUN, migrating the virtual machine and re - attach the RDM.  As long as the two hosts can see SAN/RDM, you should be good with that.

• LUN mapping - duplicate Monday in ESXi

  We have NetApp array with iSCSI to ESXi 5.0u1 servers.

  I'm trying to see if I can identify the iSCSI devices presented to the server ESXi as LUNS created on NetApp. So far, I was under the impression that this mapping must be one for our Installer, but this doesn't seem to be a case:

  That's what I see in the list of devices on the ESXi server. As you can see, the Monday is the same, but the size is different.

  

  Table of NetApp, a single LUN with LUN ID 4 (with 64 GB size) is presented. First initiator group is not used.

  

  This means that ESXi server MONDAY mapping is out of sync with NetApp table?

  How would I be able to identify the LUNs then - I thought that Monday would be a unique identifier, but now I'm at a loss.

  We use RDM in virtual mode, if it allows to specify the configuration.

  The two LUNS have IDS unique naa. This makes the host thinks that those who are in fact different SCSI devices.

  One of your LUN has a duration of vmhba40:C0 name:T0: L4 while the other has vmhba40:C0:T1: L4, they are behind different targets.

  I would first of all check the initiator groups who have included concerned host iqn and check the unit number logic on NetApp, looking for a 8 GB LUN mapped to one of these groups.

  If you have integrated with vCenter VSC, you maybe more comfortable for the task above (I wish :))

  To ensure that you are on the right at a given time (i.e. before removing the LUN mapping or the number of unit logic itself, in which case you think, it is necessary), you may need to compare the serial number LUN with NAA ID reported by ESXi.

  The only way I have found so far is NetApp CLI: lun - x series

  This returns the serial number hexagonal LUN that actually fits NAA ID seen by the host. The drawback here is that you must specify a path for each LUN to check which can be a considerable effort if you have 100 LUNS to check.

• Help on upgrading 10.7.5 El captain in MS Office and other possible issues

  I have a Mac Book Pro December 2011, OS X 10.7.5. I struggled with the implementation of php and many other issues and have been repeatedly invited to improve my OS. As a newbie in CS, I frankly scared - it's the only computer I have, and I can't lose/break/brick/etc, because I won't be able to fix any serious problem at the moment, not until I know what's best. But I'm really tired of losing time because of low productivity, constant freezing and other issues; and also feel ashamed bothers people on forums like this one, only because I have an obsolete system and lack of appropriate knowledge (the latest is not shameful because I learn, but the first can be really annoying for people who help me).

  Please, help me with this question:

  (1) is it safe to upgrade directly to el Captain 10.7.5?

  (2) If Yes on first, what are the possible problems that may arise and what should I do to avoid problems?

  (3) should I reinstall MS Office to upgrade the OS? This is crucial for me because I found out that I have to buy new MS Office, as Microsoft staff informed me. This isn't really the best money for me at the moment.

  It was Norton Ghost. Norton Ghost tried to access a directory in one of the actions, but I had changed the location of this directory. He just started mapping and re-mapping the same actions over and over again. Weird! Then I opened the ghost, clicked in the menu Tools, then Options, then changed to something else by default backup destination. It's strange, but it does. I had not used this in over a year backup destination and have resorted to a ghost. Phantom decided not to change the backup destination by default, when I deleted my old backup job 'task' and made a new who had another destination of backup. Weird.

  I managed to configure Weblogic 12 forms and States on Windows 10 & having a minor problem with the key mapping for the (current) report server

  I added a key to the file cgicmd.dat as follows

  I don't know if the solution that I found is really worth sharing, yet:

  I disabled IPV6 completely from my Windows 10 box

  Deleted the folder tmp for the WLS_REPORTS

  Restart the servers & and the mapping of the keys works fine now.

  Is there a way I can change the PSP on my host, HBA and LUN instead of changing each manually in vSphere client?

  I have 47 machines, 6 HBAs and 3 hosts per cluster, I hope that I can automate this instead of manually changing each of them.

  Yes, you want to use esxcli for the to do.

  You'll want to make a simple loop on all your devices, and then set the psp you want to use

  In regards to the PSP by default for all devices, you can accomplish that by using the setdefaultpsp which requires 2 arguments: the psp you want to use and associated with the ATAS.

  Photoshop files webdav conform? -We have a management system of document and when we record via webdav and a mapped drive is not the file versioning.

  I'm not sure that everyone has a lot of chance save files from Photoshop directly to a network location.

  Photoshop is not all simply write files.  Instead, he does things like writing a newly saved as a temporary file, then rename the original file then rename a new, apparently in an attempt to minimize the risk of data loss if a problem occurs.  This operation could be thwarting your versioning system.

  Your best bet would be to NEVER save files directly form Photoshop on your network drive, but rather to always work from a copy on the local drive of your computer, and then commit this copy back to the WebDav server via a simple copy using the OS file manipulation tools.

  We created OPA attribute and Siebel mapping fields under administration - policy automation > mappings in our development environment. However, I am able to EXPORT mappings to XML format. But when I try to IMPORT the mapping on the test environment, I get an error "'Attribute name' field is." whose value is more than 50 characters
  
  When I dug deep in the present, I found this level column length is 75 CHAR type and however on the component business integration component (e.g. Poliy Automation) length was 50. I changed the length of BC and IO level synchronized. IO/IC now shows length 75.
  Still, if I try to import XML on the test environment, I get error "'Attribute name' field is that the value is more than 50 characters."
  
  Any pointers/direction would help a lot, because we have about 2K attributes to migrate.

  A few things to say:

  * This has been raised as a bug and will be fixed in the next version of the Siebel connector.
  * I have reproduced this problem and fixed by the following method:

  1 open the object of integration "Policy Automation" in Siebel Tools
  2. Select the integration component 'Policy of automation attribute Mapping' and select the fields component integration
  3. change the length and the outside length of the 'Attribute name' field of 50 to 75
  4. change the length and the outside length of the 'Field name' field of 50 to 75
  5. compile all projects that begin with 'policy Automation"(just to be safe).
  6 stop the siebel Server
  7. copy the new .srf file compiled in step 5 above
  8 restart the siebel server.

  Once the siebel server is rebooted, you should be able to export and import mappings from attribute names and domain names longer than 50 characters.

  I traced a symbol on my 3d rectangle but I continue to make changes to my symbol.

  so every time I do it in a new symbol and then map it on again once. So is it possible to update the symbol

  Rather than creating a new symbol, edit the existing one:

  1 double click on a symbol instance on the artboard (not that mapped to 3D object) or double-click the symbol in the symbols Panel to go into isolation mode.

  2. Select the image on the side or the part you want to modify.

  3 edit.

  4 exit isolation mode.

  5 Select the 3D object to which symbol is mapped.

  6. in appearance Panel click on the 3D effect applied to the object.

  7. the 3D Options window opens. Click OK.
