SD write Test - file opening to rewrite

Hi, I wrote a vi to try to establish if the write speed of the SD cards I use in my 9802 module is up to writing to flow, I need, however, I have now that the issue that when I reopen it the SD card file, apart from when it opens for the first time, the size of the file does actually change?

It seems that on the first open, that is to say when the file is created everything works perfectly, however as soon as the file is closed, it is write protected and so I can open it but makes no changes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Dominic

Ok

I basically solved this problem, it seems that I overwriting me the data since the beginning of the file rather than add at the end...

A simple inclusion of a 'get file size' and 'set the position of the file"resolved.

See you soon,.

  • Write backup files as reading takes place in the event of computer failure

    Hello

My application involves sometimes to test outdoors.  We have a PC equipment and robust data acquisition.  I'm in the Northeast, where in recent weeks were cold and we had to do a test on the outside.  Long story short, in the middle of the test the computer shut down (probably because it was too cold for the computer according to the data sheet) and I lost all the data from the sensor.  The coomputer works fine BTW when I brought it back inside.

The reason for which the data have been lost was because the program never completed and so the function that creates the data file has a chance to run.  Now, the data acquisition card, we used is very old and obsolete.  I am trying to upgrade the equipment with components or (PCI-6221) and a box of CSC-2345 with modules for two load cells load cells.  At the same time, I am writing a LabVIEW application that improves the old, obsolete program.

I want the application to write a file in spreadsheet with all the information of the sensor continuously as the test proceeds in the event of failure of the computer midtest.  In this way, I at least have some saved data.  I explained all this to another engineer here and he says that he cannot make this way at high sampling rates (I want to run the program at 1 kHz for 60 seconds).  His reason was that the writing on file screws up the waveforms that we measure because the file must be opened, the data gets written and then closed for each line of data points.  He argues that the resources of the computer will be linked up as it tries to write the file while the program is data acquisition and store these data in a buffer.

So my question is: what is the recommended architecture to write a backup file as a test occurs with a high (1 kHz and 10 kHz) sample rate when the computer shuts down or some other failure?  Also, what are the limits of performance when writing data to a file within the same line as the VI 'read '?

    Thank you.

Rate from 1 to 10 kHz are in fact rather slow. You can use an architecture of producer/consumer to save text files, and there is simply no reason to open and close files permanently. With DAQmx, you can listen directly to the disk at much higher rates.

  • Problems of non-sinusoidales waves «Write to file»

    Hi people,

I have a problem with "writing of the waveforms to file". Is attached a very simple vi which gives the error message: "error 4 has occurred open the file...". LabVIEW: end of file encountered. NOR-488: invalid argument or arguments to the function call. »

It gives this message that I put in a new file or name of one that already exists.

The last part is rather confusing because I do nothing with GPIB.

I found this article in the knowledge base, but is not the same case, because it is the first time I address the file:

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/WebSearch/0576444C8FD4DC0F86256E83007FA540?OpenDocument

    It's Windows 7, SP1 2013 LV.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

In the examples provided with LabVIEW, there is one that should be useful waveform - wave write to FIle.vi

  • Files opened again during startup window display

After closing changed screws, I can see the start window popping up. But when I try to change the name of the directory, where the files closed, Windows reports that it is not possible because an application always accesses these files. As soon as I completely close LabView, the rename process works very well. So why the files are still in use after that I closed their interior in LV?

What I call a bug as well!

I reported to the support and received a CAR # 46949

    Please note that CAR # is correct since this has been reported for centuries. The last word, that I received in this BUG has been;

1 - the PSE said that the cause of this behavior is due to Windows:

"Windows is updated the working directory of the application when the file dialog box is called. This can be easily tested by opening another VI / project to another path and then rename/move the initial project (which should work). "

Which do not at all agree with. Then someone can make a convincing aguement whether or not being is not a bug?

  • In the file open/create/replace bug

I found this problem in LabVIEW 2009. The Boolean indicator doesn't seem to work properly in the first snippet. It returns TRUE even with a valid path. With some trial and error, I found a work around that will work correctly at the moment. I just wire an Out error after the file open/create/replace (excerpt of a second). Is this a bug? I'm doing something wrong?

I had a lot of code that uses it to test to search for existing files, and then the output of wire to a statement box. I know there's also a check if the folder/file available Exists.vi. I wouldn't spend a lot of time to change all my code if there is a known bug and it will be corrected in the next update. If this isn't a bug to know, where can I submit it?

This isn't a bug. You have the race condition between the indicator and close REF.

    Use it in this way:

  • "c:\program files" opens at startup.

Hi all, thank you in advance for your help.
I am running win xp home edition.  When I boot the dir 'c:\program files' opens automatically.  Note that I do not mean c:\program files\common files.  the dir, who opens is "c:\program files" with three word in the dir documents.  so my question is sorta twofold. Why what is happening and how to stop it from happening?  Thanks again, Chris

It works like a charm for this problem.
I want to offer thanks to a hacked Silbylaw guys for this fix.

"And well, here's the deal. You have this stupid coming folder when you start?

    C:\Program Files\Fichiers

The reason is that the registry is reading through the entries and as the previous poster said, there is no quotes around C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec\... etc.

whats going to happen, is that windows will read the value until it can load this thing his tent to load (in this case, you want to load ccapp.exe or something else).

BUT here's the big thing, it will read until it CAN open something (if your value is not in brackets).

In this case, it is open C:\Program Files\Common because he got to that part of the value and said ' OK, well, I can open this folder! It is this value that finished playing! »

Now, the thing is, this folder C:\Program Files\Common does not usually exist and honestly has NO purpose! It is empty. Delete it! This is what caused the problems.

I did a test with this, I got a computer that works very well with Norton and everything, then I simply created a folder named C:\Program Files and did a reset.

All of a sudden wasn't Norton, and the folder popped up at startup.

Delete the folder, reset, things worked fine.

Add quotes to the registry values is a fix, but it is only temporary. What happens when you install several programs and they have values not in square brackets, in C:\Program Files\Common Files\... etc? The same problem will occur.

This is not unusual as far as I can guess. If you have created a folder named C:\Program then you'd have the same problem, but this time a fodler called C:\Program would open at startup, and all of your registration keys starting with C:\Program Files\... etc startup fails.

So in conclusion, the problem is not norton or your firewall, or everything you think it can be. Your unlisted registry values are normal, they will work on a computer without the strange folder.
The problem lies in the way the bed registry values of unlisted registry and this being combined with a folder that has no purpose and screw everything up. (C:\Program Files)
I have accumulated my brain for about an hour with this problem, and after doing some research and experiments, it is my last conclusive answer.

CAUSE: Setup created Sloppy 'C:\Program Files' for no reason

SOLUTION: Delete the folder "C:\Program Files". Leave your registry database as it is! »

  • vCO: write a file on a network share

    Hello

I am very new to vCO and unfortunately I do not have experience in programming/scripting.

The question I have is how to write a file/folder on a Windows network share in a scriptable vCO task?  I am able to write a file to a local directory, but cannot write to a network share.

    Code:

    file.createDirectory ();

I already modified the file js - io - rights.conf to include the UNC path, that I want to write.

I think it's a question that the vCO run the script in the SYSTEM context in Windows, but you allow it on a network share.  I tested by adding and removing the SYSTEM in a local folder.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Mike

You will need to create a service account has network access to this network share. Re-configure vCO Server Service runs with the credentials of this account. After that, you should be able to do what you ask. I had this same use case on a project of the last year

  • Is there a way to see the files opened by java threads

    -environment-
Java for 64-bit Server VM (build 1.5.0_19 - b02, mixed mode)

    Xeon of Intel (r) CPU
    --------------------------

    Hi all

I would like to know if, in the course of an outOfMemory, there are ways to:
    1. do you have a list of thread for the time (basically a thread dump)
    2. know the thread which lead to the OOM (even if the thread could well be the 'drop' leading to OOM)
    3. get a summary of the brief files on track to open by thread (basically a dump of the heap) use java.
    4. get a list of files opened by my thread

Our application is regularly faced with outOfMemory (OOM) and I know that this sometimes load important file, so now I'm testing is the use of hprof (-agentlib:hprof = heap = sites, thread = y, depth = 2). Send "kill-3" on my java process creates a file containing a thread dump + memory usage. But it can't help me for question 2.

Regarding question 4, I tried to establish a correlation between the hprof output + pstack + jstack, pmap, but I'm not the info I'm looking for (pstack, jstack do not show the address of open files)

Finally, if this isn't the right forum for my question, please tell me where to post it.

    Thank you

Have you tried - XX: + HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError?

I would use a recent version of Java as Java 6 update 25.

You can get a list of files opened by looking at/proc / {pid} /fd/ however you should never be allowed to open as many files as you run out of memory.

If you use a Profiler, you can see that the son made at some point, and where objects are allocated.

I don't think you can associate files with a wire.

  • Why Photoshop doesn't support read/write of files .mpo?

I'm really blown away that I can't find a single plugin of Photoshop that reads and saves .mpo files. Does anyone know why? And why isn't anyone talking about this format? I struggle to believe that nobody in the entire Photoshop Windows forum asked already on a total lack of Photoshop or an interest in support for .mpo files.

If nobody knows how read/write the file .mpo directly through Photoshop, maybe someone could point me to resources for writing a plugin for this. It's a file format really very simple: there is no reason that a plugin must not already be available.

Thanks in advance for your support.

    Jase

Well said. In the end, it comes to the number. Development costs $, and if there is no hope to recover this cost, I doubt any software company will jump to support FTU. Now, things can change, but this depends on the number. At the same time, AVCHD is not easily supported by most of the NLE programs. Soon, the number reached a critical mass, and most of the software companies jumped on this train running.

With the availability of the PS SDK, if anyone recognizes the need and the financial justification for this plugin, I think they will write a.

It was similar, when struck with JPEG - 2K. It was going to be the future format/compressor. It took time to seduce the good, but when he did finally, Adobe added support. Over time, it is rather fizzled. Now, if it's still around, it's probably like a ' Goodies > additional Formats ' plugin.

If I was on the Board of Directors of Adobe (or any other similar software company), I would ask to see the numbers, before I give my vote to continue the development.

Fuji offers software for the DFO format? It works well?

For me, it would be incumbent on Fuji to take the SDK and build a plug in PS, but I feel the same way on camera mfgrs., rewriting of the CODEC for video, who do not care to offer a such CODEC for editing. They leave THEIR pending clients, like the last leaf fall, in the wind. Were I have Fuji, I certainly would develop a plug-in for PS, the professional image editor more common on the Earth. They know their format, access access to the SDK and have a responsibility to their customers.

    Good luck

  • Where have paths to catalog go to file > > open the recent item in Lr3?

In Lr 1 & 2, file > > open the recent item shows you a list of your catalogs recently opened, including the path for each of them.  I just upgraded to Lr 3 and only see the catalog of WHAT NAMES are listed under open a recent item... and no way.  I don't see any option to turn on access roads in Edit > > Preferences or Edit > > settings of the catalog.

In the past, I had a folder separate for each session, each with its own Lr catalog... I named each folder for each specific session, but still named catalogs "alterations"... so I have literally hundreds of catalogs named 'touch-up '!  This has never been a problem in Lr 1 or 2 through (1) paths displayed in the recent list of catalog and (2) they are stored in files separate, namely cited... but now I can't distinguish between them to open the recent item... and I prefer not to rename all these catalogs!  Anyone have an overview here?  Thank you very much!

Ah, it only shows paths if you have catalogs with the same name.

It's the same in LR3 can... Have you tested in LR3 with all the catalogs of these 'changes '?
