SDS on a new card mother and also 3 SATA disks

I change my motherboard ASUS PK5C to Gigabyte Z77 - D3H 5 years. My question is:

I'm happy to reformat and reinstall Windows 7 on SSD drive, BUT when I reconnect my 3 SATA II drives for the new motherboard, be they recognized? I don't want to lose the data on them. I don't do mine if they appear as different drive letters - which I can reassign again.

Guy

Built the PC last night - 1 230 GB SSD, SATA 3 readers on i5 8 MB of memory, and Gigabyte Mobo Z77 - D3h. Printers, scanner etc.  and no problem at all. AHCI is at the present time.

Bit the bullet and went for a clean install of Windows.

With the help of the retaim Home Premium. Very impressed with the speed of the SATA 3 SSD.

    Original title: Stop error after installing the new card mother and CPU.

    After I installed a new motherboard and CPU I got a stop error 0X0000007E (0XC0000005, 0XB77EA756, 0XB84C742C, 0xB84C7128) and it restarted immediately. It always starts in safe mode, but I can't understand what is wrong. The old processor is a pentium 4 3 ghz, not sure what the motherboard was, new processor is AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual core 4200 + and I only know that the motherboard is an ASUS socket AM2. Device Manager does not recognize the CPU correctly, it shows just two entries called processor. As far as I can tell, it's almost certainly a driver issue, but I don't know how to diagnose or fix this. I am running windows XP home, I removed my video card, running 2 hard drives at 120 g (M) and 200 g (S), a DVD drive (M) and a reader of CD (S), and a stick of RAM to 1 GB.

    If you have made the change without having to reinstall XP, you will be taking and Pray H@ll. the best thing to do would be to reinstall XP and make sure you have the drivers available for your motherboard available so that you can update the installed chipset. In addition, be aware that if you have an OEM of Windows version, the license is dead when you changed the mother/CPU card.

    I hope this helps.

    Hey icuhavoc

    are recovery disks to reinstall vista with the original hardware installed if I understand you correctly know what records you need to know a set of manufacturer's recovery disks

    If it is pre-installed this is an oem license and does not change unless you did it in consultation with the manufacturer of models of motherboards and processors

    The site is authentic.  You have two options when you do your relocation:

    Method 1

    1. Download SP3 form the Microsoft site and burn it to a cd or copy it to a flash drive.
    2. Reinstall Windows with your original Windows XP CD.
    3. Use the copy of SP3 that you burned on the CD or copied to the flash drive and update the machine to SP3.  Note that if you have an original CD of 'gold' of Windows XP without service pack that you install SP1a or SP2 before you install SP3, SP2 is available here , download and save it with SP3 before making your relocation.

    Method 2

    1. Download SP3 from the Microsoft site and it wake to your Windows XP CD.
    2. Install Windows XP with your slipstreamed CD and your installation will be in SP3, when installation is complete you will not need to install service packs, you'll just have to do some other updates that have been released after SP3.

    The http://lifehacker.com/386526/slipstream-service-pack-3-into-your-windows-xp-installation-cd is legitimate, it only gives you instructions on how to create and burn a CD of SP3 slipstreamed Windows XP.  If this seems too daunting then use method 1 to install Windows.

    Both methods are very good but method 2 allows a nicer cleaner installation, everything is installed to SP3 level and there are no remnants of previous service packs.  While creating the slipstreamed CD may appear to be a time consuming task, in the end, it will be a time saver and afterwards if you ever have problems with the installation of Windows you may need this cd SP3 slipstreamed to all repairs on the installation.  You can create the SP3 cd now and do it ready and at hand for future needs.

  • I want to improve my card mother and CPU on my PC. Can I use transfer windows settings for it?

    I want to improve my card mother and CPU on my PC. I like to keep all my settings from my games, etc, so I don't have to buy/purchase new and purchase/buy a new OS Win. I am running Win 7 Pro. What is the best way to address the issue? I keep my OS on a SSD and all the other stuff is on a separate HARD disk. Basically, I need to install the new chipset and other pilots MB.

    You can save files and settings and restore to the new installation of Windows, but the games cannot be guaranteed. Just give a try. If it works, it's fine. If this isn't the case, you must reinstall the games.

  • new connection card mother and a Pro to windows 7 64 bit computer processor, hard drive will be OK

    Some time ago, I built a PC with an operating system of Windows 7 64 bit with an ASrock 880GMH/USB3 R2.0 motherboard equipped with an AMD Athlon II X processor 2 260 3.20 GHz which took his life an intermittent fault, the fault is that it intermittently does not detect not the monitor, when she made this so I shut down the computer with the power button because it is a white screen, once I do that then it will boot normally for a while, then happens again, I've worked on this problem for far too long and decided to change my motherboard and processor, what I want to know is, 'it will affect my hard drive. I have a recovery and a picture of disk and file system and files backed up on an external drive, not long ago I installed a new larger hard drive and installed a clean, so it doesn't have something to do with the hard drive, I'd rather not have to do another clean install properly reactivate and I have already once recently reactivated.

  • Inspiron One 2020 new card mother help

    Greetings & Salmenella

    The high memory slot on the motherboard of my Inspiron One 2020 beeps stop known, two beeps of intervals. Any memory I put in the continuous ringing. It stops if I have a memory stick into the lower slot.

    I need help on the verification of the correct mother card to purchase or if it is a card mother Dell different that I can spend which will enter in the box. I don't mind if I have to make the cuts or small holes in the back plate, since I already have the holes for a tuner card, I bought after that I bought the model which had no openings for cable TV.

    I really don't want to go buy a brand new for a slot with memory 4meg bad computer. I have a solid state, 8 GB RAM and 2 GB of RAM, it runs fast enough that I do not have to buy a new computer. But losing that 4gigs of ram in the bad memory slot. Holy Ding Dong, the hard drive takes forever to stop making noise, surfing slows down and compilation and writing of visual basic for class takes forever.

    Now for the short version.

    What is the correct motherboard model to replace an Inspiron One 2020 or is there a model of mark liked that a motherboard will suit my AIO home and get all my guts of the computer. I have a 5-2390T UC iCore.

    Love,

    Stu

    Any advice for this model are the same - but nothing else that will fit the original.

  • New card mother = new license?

    I recently added a new motherboard, processor and RAM to my office.  After force-feeding of new drivers chipset via my installation disk, the computer started normally, as he did before the upgrade.  It now behaves very well except for this: I have to activate again due to the change of equipment.  Windows will ask that I do via phone and I respected.  After entering the key in telephone service, he asked me how it was installed on the computers and I answered three (including this one, given that I have a family pack another office with a laptop on the same key).  The automated system has responded that I reached the maximum facilities allowed using this key, when it is clearly not the case.  Why is this?

    Since it was a copy of Vista retail you upgraded then try activating the phone as follows:

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4
    (2) press the ENTER"" key.
    (3) to select your "country" you are in the drop-down list.
    (4) choose the option "activate phone".
    (5) stay on the phone * do not select/press any option * and wait for a person to help you.
    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.
    (7) the person must give you a confirmation ID, copy it down on paper,
    (8) check that the ID is correct in reading the support person.
    (9) to enter the ID number, then click 'Next' to complete the activation process.

  • Hello, I get upgraded my computer and change the card mother and new CPU.__Is it no problem to install my OS. and re-activation. ???

    Activation

    If you have a retail version of XP, there will be no problem. A repair installation may or may not work. Of course you will be smart and save your data on an external first.

    If you have a version of XP OEM, it is related to the original computer on which it is installed. Since replacing the motherboard and processor you effectively create a new computer, you must purchase a new copy of XP in this case.

    Hello:

    I would speculate that it is certainly possible.

  • Have ACER Aspire desktop on which a card mother and preloaded Windows Vista Home Premium (oem) has become corrupted somehow.

    Motherboard has been replaced, now need the Windows Vista Home premium media to complete the restoration of the system.  Machine did not come with any recovery disk. These materials are available for download on the Microsoft site? Thank you

    Vista Media recovery obtaining and/or using the Vista recovery on your computer Partition to factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    https://secure.TX.Acer.com/rcdb/main.aspx?brand=Acer

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11, Acer can be Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
    They will tell you how to do this.
    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
  • Re: New card mother Satellite L40 - 18Y - need advice
    Hello
    the computer suddenly stopped. Since it does not start. Burn CD towers for a moment, seeing power but nothing on the screen and it's stuck. Verified by unauthorized service and they told me it's the faulty motherboard. I'm considering buying a motherboard used on EBay.
    All the tips I can try before that and if any motherboard of L40 series will do the work to bring it to live? Thank you!
    Hey,.
    If the laptop has been checked by an authorized service provider and they found out that the motherboard needs you replace don t have other options.
    I mean if this hardware malfunction of s you can do anything expect to change the hardware (motherboard) for the workbook.
    Finally and above all had different L40 models on the market I think not every Council will work. If you buy a motherboard with the same part number, you are on the safe side it works and fits properly. ;)
