• How can you save an Excel file to PDF?

  Hello list,

  My VI to save an Excel file in PDF format is attached.

  If I run the VI, it saves a PDF file (probably because I'm recording with the PDF extension).

  When I try to open the file in Acrobat, I get the error that it is an unsupported file type.

  I use "17" as "File Format" (I found online and it is supposed to work for Word, so I thought it would work in Excel).

  If I change the format of 'file' '56', I can open the saved file back into Excel and then save it in PDF format using the menu drop down and it opens correctly in Acrobat, so I think that "17" is not correct.

  What no one knows the correct value for 'File Format', or I'm doing something wrong.

  Search Excel Help for xlTypePDF and you'll see that the number is 0.

• Lost file

  I opened an attachment in Excel and worked with him for several weeks.  I forgot that I had not saved on my laptop and just registered and closed it.  Based on my experience at work, it is saved in a temporary folder that is renamed with a few numbers but I don't know where such a folder resides on a HP.  Any help?  Thank you!

  Email from Comcast's webmail. It's never on your PC, except as a temp file when you are viewing. That is why Outlook or Thunderbird are widely used, since emails are actually saved on the hard drive of your PC.

  If you have never saved the Excel file on your hard drive then you will not be able to recover. Sorry to bear bad news.

  I never use screws Express, but if build Table generates a 2D array, you can easily use the tool to generate report to write an Excel (.xls or .xlsx, not a .xsl) file.  Search Excel simple table VI and examples showing how to use it.

  I want to create a formula to search each entry to several errors, so that this example comes Pl and Bk. If it detects an error, Pl or Bk, it returns Y, if it is a N in a separate column such that it would look like this:

  • N
  • THERE
  • N
  • THERE
  • THERE
  • N
  • N

  Any suggestions?

  Their example is in column B.  He looks at the cell to the right for what in the list in column A.  If nothing is found, it returns what she has.  Although I'm sure it can be adopted to return Y or N (or you might have even just a column more to check if B contains another type.

• Windows 7 search did not find the result of a formula in excel file

  I have some files stored in a folder specific excel. In excel files, there are some formulas. Windows search, I want to find the file that shows the result of a particular formula. When I search, it not find the file with the text, the result of the formula. Can someone help me please?

  Windows cannot do this, because the formula has not been assessed or calculated yet.  Only Excel can calculate the result of the formula and show the answer, so you must open the file in Excel before you can find the result.

• Windows 7 RTM search resulting Sharing Violation in Excel 2007

  I use Windows 7 RTM Ultamite 64 - bit (updated recently to Vista) with Office 2007 SP2. I do very frequent experience sharing Violations in Excel 2007 that disappear if I disable the search (for example using the indexer status gadget) and come back when I turn it back on. According to the gadget I find 6.1.7600.16385. FYI I have also Windows Defender (currently disabled) and Trend Micro WFBS 6.5, but these programs do not seem to be involved, based on the problem will disappear and return when I stop and start the search indexer.

  This problem occurs very frequently and has already caused losses of productivity.

  Here's a typical scenario:
  -Open an Excel file
  -changes in the leaves or in VBA (the problem occurs regardless of whether or not there are macros or if the file is in the format 2003/xls or xlsm xlss 2007)
  -Click Save
  -get the "Sharing Violation": your changes could not be saved in "" because of a Division. violation try saving to another file.
  - , then get: the file you are trying to open, "<########>", is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Check that the file is not corrupted and precedes by a trusted source before you open the file. Do you want to open it now?
  - , leave the Save as dialog box, save (sometimes works); then get:
  -Do you want to save changes to ''?
  -
  -get again save under and try and save it under another name or overwrite existing
  -Exit: errors were detected during the recording of "". Microsoft Office may be able to save the file by removing or repairing some features. To make the repairs in a new file, click on continue. To cancel saving the file, click Cancel.
  -get , save as, and then: Excel encountered errors during save. However, Excel was minimally save your file to .
  - or sometimes, instead of the above, I get a message that the file is damaged and cannot be repaired.

  Anyway, please provide a fix for this problem as soon as POSSIBLE.

  I contacted Trend Micro and they report that it is a known problem in the current version of the WFBS and they provide me with an update to try.

• Search for text in the file Excel, Explorer, does not.

  Have a workbook (.xlsm).  In a cell, there is a simple text value (not the result of a formula).  The value is "Homestreet. I type Homestreet in the search box on Windows Explorer.  By the Explorer, the file is not found.  Many users report similar complaints, and so I found several suggested solutions that sounded quite peremptorily declared. So, I have and have done or checked all of the following items, but still the file is not found when I search for it using Windows Explorer.

  o that I have rebuilt the index (which was like 24 hours or more).
  o in the Explorer. Search folder options, I chose "always search file names and contents", "include subfolders" and "find partial matches."
  o in the Panel. Indexing Options. Advanced | Types of files, the file of type "xlsm", it is checked and the option for "Properties Index and contents of the file" button is selected for that file type.
  o checking attributes advanced in each folder to the folder containing the file, 'allow files in this folder to have content indexed in addition to the properties' is checked.
  I have no idea why should have to do all these things simply to find text in an excel file, but I have them all.  Seems to be a very poor design something that should just be simple. Seems more reliable to find something on the internet, with a simple and direct search by typing text into a search box, to find something on my local C drive! But, beyond this comment... the result of all the above is effort... still, the search does not find the file!
  So is there any other suggestions to get the Search Explorer to work? (Or, if you have any suggestions for a good a third-party tool efficiently search my local disc C, which can actually search the contents of Excel files, this suggestion would be appreciated, too).

  For this feature, you can enable RM on the server of the University Complutense of MADRID in stand-alone mode that gives search results export to excel function.

  Not only that you can export the contents of a variety of formats such as PDF, XLS, and 2-3 more.

• AppleScript search / replace in Excel sheet text Document

  I'm new on Applescript and I'm trying to create a script that can browse a document text (.html) and find and replace different phrases with a corresponding cell in an Excel document.

  I'll put placeholders in the text to be replaced like B_1 (first value to replace), B_2 (second), B_3 etc...

  They must be replaced in order using the cells B1-B9 in the Excel document. Phrases in the Excel document will be changed each time, so why it must be dynamic to capture them rather than a standard find & replace the script with static values.

  However, I continue to run into compile errors. Here is my current code:

  The first half works fine, but the second half gives me error "Expected end of line but found identifier." and highlights the 'using' in the 'replace' command (line 8) .

  Anyone know why this could be and is there any other glaring error in the script?

  Restructure your AppleScript in the Apple Script Editor (then do not peer in a continuous line of code) and then paste here using the Advanced Editor. Then select all the posted AppleScript and in the Style menu, choose paragraph. Now, your code is readable (hopefully) to us.

  

  The second point. Sublime text does not include any AppleScript script definition, so you can not handle it with AppleScript.

  TextEdit is scriptable, and probably you want in plain text rather than rich text (RTF) mode.

  I tried the Excel research and this pension, but have not found something that can help yet. I have an Excel file which contains three columns. I want to find the first column with a value (1-99), and then returns the value of this same line, but the 3rd column. About the same as the VLOOKUP function, but I have not found a way to do in LV here is a basic example:

  Column1 | Column 2 | Column 3

  LB/01 PO2 3

  .

  .

  20 PEA 2

  For example, if '20' is entered, it will return the value "2".

  Well, use the VLOOKUP function then of _Application WorksheetFunction (a reference range for the Argument 2 pass).

• clicking excel xp home edition shortened forces professional xp search

  I started to receive an error message when I click on the shortcut to excel that says please wait while windows configures Excel XP Professional.  When I cancel it gives me an error 1706.  I am running XP Home, non-professional.  The only thing I can think is that either it is a virus or my son used his school and somehow flash player, he has fucked my excel.  How can I fix it - I am not a technophile.

  Once I have cancel and click ok in the error message, it will go ahead and bring up my excel and work well.  I deleted the shortcut and made a new directly on my excel icon in the office 10 folder.  Don't know what else to do.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

  When you have a Web site that contains many pages with similar content structure, the practice is to store all content and all variables in a database. It is possible to create a site that has hundreds of 'pages', with many variations in the pages, so they don't all look like clones, and yet all this might be based on a single web page. A website as Amazon.com has millions of 'pages', but may actually have only a dozen basic page structures.

  Convert what you now have a system like this would be a fair amount of work, but it's the way to go now.
