Search for available properties for an object of vSphere

In vSphere client to an ESXi host, I can click on the 'configuration' tab and see a horde of properties.

It would seem logical that I could see how they are all named in PowerCLI by running something like:

Get-vmhost myhost | get-member

However when I run the present, I see some things but not others.

I see the property of 'model' issued by using get-member.

However, the "Number of Service" field, which is located on the same window in vSphere client, doesn't appear as the property when I run "get-member.

Is there an equivalent to "get-member" function that will show me ALL properties associated with an object? Do you just to KNOW where these other properties are hidden?

When you know what item you want, is there a reference online to easily find other properties? Would be nice if there were a reference table that showed you in vSphere client as it appears, and what is the corresponding property powercli name and how to access it.

What is the best way to quickly find how to report on the property of an object, when it is not displayed with get-member?

Thank you!

You can only see the 'level 1' properties of the object with Get-Member.

The cmdlet does not show you any recursively.

You might have a look with

Get-VMHost | Format-Custom -Depth 3

That will show you properties 3 levels deep.

An alternative is to use an editor that contains a decent variable Inspector.

In this way, you can click on through all nested properties.

  • Searching for an object in a Collection of table

    So I have a Collection of table with an object in, the following trace output

  • What is the best way to search for a Datagrid?

    I want to search the installer for a datagrid control. I did a lot of research but could not come up with a solution of single column. Can someone give some recommendations on how I can get all the data that is in the datagrid?

    Thank you.

    Dave

    DataProvider of the DataGrid control is always an instance of ICollectionView: ArrayCollection or XMLListColection collection.

    ICollectionView's filterFunction function that would make reference to a function with a signature of the individual:

    private function filter(item:Object): Boolean {}

    }

    When you have assinged this function to the collection of table and do a refresh() on this function to call for each element in the underlying dataProvider. The "item" is current object, the line if you want, in your dataProvider for which this method is called. Now that you have the complete object available you all it's available properties; make all checks you need and return true if you want to keep the line in the filtered list of false otherwise. That's all!

    Flex Builder Help has many examples of such FilterFunction, like google!

    Good luck!

  • How to use the find method to search for character format substitutions and FMP?

    I strongly suspect that I should be able to use the find method to search for paragraph substitutions and format as these options are available in the Find dialog box. However, because of the excruciating Extendscript documentation from Adobe, I not was able to find the key pieces of information that I need. I found these constants:

    • Constants.FV_FindPgfFormatOverride
    • Constants.FV_FindCharacterFormatOverride

    But he has literally no information about them. It is not yet a definition, so I'm actually just a guess. However, I think that I need to somehow use these constant within the parameters of the Find method. Any ideas on how to do it?

    You're right, there are still some bugs to work out of the documentation, although it has already improved since I started w / Extendscript last summer.

    Find two constants must be defined as the ival for a PropVal FindObject, for example:

    var myDoc is app. ActiveDoc;

    var docStart = myDoc.MainFlowInDoc.FirstTextFrameInFlow.FirstPgf;

    tloc var = new TextLoc(docStart,0);

    var findParams = AllocatePropVals (1);

    findParams [0].propIdent.num = Constants.FS_FindObject;

    findParams [0].propVal.valType = Constants.FT_Integer;

    findParams [0].propVal.ival = Constants.FV_FindCharacterFormatOverride;

    myDoc.Find (tloc, findParams);

    Depending on what you're trying to accomplish, you can also take a look at the property FormatOverride of the Doc, bmp and item objects.

  • search for photos by lens

    How to search for all photos taken with a certain goal? Thank you joanlvh

    In the grid, click on metadata in the library above the image grid filter bar. You should see four columns that you can select to search for. By default, one of them should be "objective". Take the small cursor bit just to the right of the list and made scroll until you find what you want.

    If none of the columns is for 'Objective', click on the title of the any of the four columns (for example, camera, Date, label). You will get a pop-up window with a list of all of the available metadata. Select "Lens" and then follow the instructions above.

    It is a problem with the code you are using, to remove the lines marked in red and check if it works then. Or move the code of swfobjects, (6 off) above any other javascript code you have at the bottom of your page.

  • update search for my friends & podcasts

    iTunes tells me to update 'my friends of search' and 'podcasts '. Doubleclicking the icons on my windows computer displays the information to search for updates in the app store of my iOS devices. But there is no available for these applications udate.

    So, how to update these applications?

    Thanks in advance.

    iPhone 6

    iOS 9.2.3

    Hi ervau,

    From what you described, it seems that these two applications shows that they are updated to the latest version on your iPhone, but not in iTunes on your Windows PC. I would be happy to provide some guidance.

    Regarding the application of Podcasts, it is in fact built into iOS now, so it will not need to be updated individually. For this reason, it is safe to remove the outdated version of the app of Podcasts in iTunes.

    The application 'search my friends', I recommend the deletion of outdated since iTunes version, then follow the steps in this article to synchronize the updated stored on your iPhone on iTunes version:

    12 iTunes for Windows: Sync and organize iOS apps

    Take care!

  • Search for display wireless devices

    Some how I managed to get up the circular screen with a rotating wire that displays all available devices. Now his party and I cannot get to the top. I have a left click on the taskbar icon and a "search for wireless devices' but only get the small screen. someone help please?

    Hi Paul

    If I understand you right that you talked about ConfigFree Launcher. If I'm right, you can start it by clicking with left mouse taste ConfigFree icon on the taskbar. Choose search for wireless devices, and the pitcher will start. On the right side of the screen you can see four icons. On top it is called icon option. Check all the settings and you can also set an option that starts the Launcher to start Windows.

    Good luck!

  • Search for the text value data store

    Hello, I have a PDO of data to store, and I would like to search for a text value in a quantity of measure. In each of my test series, there is a quantity of measure with the name TCNAME and stores the cell name of test in the string format. I would like to get all the TCNAMEs that contain "TC4" for example. Currently, I have to load TCNAME in the portal and display it in an array of string.

    Any ideas how I can do this?

    I assume you are using a PUMA testbed that stores this kind of goods on a unique value chain chains.

    There is no direct search method, so I guess that a script is the only solution we can offer.

    Datafinder you can search for the minimum and maximum of a channel. That would be too much work in the store of ASAM.

    "PDO / cpp"
    protected tcnameMQs: set tcnameMQs = store. GetElementList ("MeasurementQuantity", "name = TCNAME", true)
    protected tcnameMQ: for each tcnameMQ in tcnameMQs
    MsgBox tcnameMq.References ("local_columns"). Elements (1). Properties ("values"). Value
    Next

    ' AOP5 / Corba
    protected tcnameLCs: set tcnameLCs = store. GetElementList ("LocalColumn", "measurement_quantity.name = TCNAME", true)
    protected tcnameLC: for each tcnameLC in tcnameLCs
    MsgBox tcnameLC.Properties ("values"). Value
    Next

    I have added the example which should be the shortest path from my point of view. In AOP5, you can search LocalColumn and spend BA which is less overhead.

    It is perhaps a good idea to post-processing of the data base and crush the decription "Test name" by

    "The test cell name == NAME. You can search not post-processed by Searchin' for.

    protected tcnameMQs: set tcnameMQs = store. GetElementList ("MeasurementQuantity", "description = name of the test cell", true)
    protected tcnameMQ: for each tcnameMQ in tcnameMQs
    tcnameMQ.Properties ("description"). Value = "name of the test cell is" & tcnameMq.References ("local_columns"). Elements (1). Properties ("values"). Value
    Next
    Store.Save

    Thereafter, you would be able to search for it.

    Greetings

    Andreas
