Searchendexer.exe slow start windows on my Satellite A100

I use A100-599 to laptop with vista home premium, when I did an audit of the performance I got information that searchendexer.exe, the windows to start slowly (time needed 5444 dry!), I can't find it reasonable that windows does not have the time to start. Can someone tell me how to get on it?

Another thing that, in the report I found that Texas OHCI compatible THIRD 1394 host controller is disabled and it is often the case now, I even enable the device in Device Manager.
Your support is much appreciated.
Kind regards

I think you mean searchindexer.exe.

The searchindexer.exe is a service that belongs to the Vista operating system. It s own service of Microsoft.

I think this service is responsible for the research. Probably he indicates and caches the files like photos, etc. to find faster on HARD drive

However, it is up to the Vista.

I found this page very useful:

  • Slow start up on my Satellite A660/07U

    I have a Toshiba A660/07u computer. She has 32-bit and 64-bit windows. I prefer to use 64-bit Windows 7.
The thing is noticed Windows 7 is a good 2 minutes to get to my office. It's desktop in about a minute and then still charges... Meanwhile I can't access what anyone, if I try to access a program (such as ie) it would be insensitive and take a white to recover.

So overall 1 minute on the desktop (as soon as I press the button) and then another minute on the desktop. Is there something wrong? Others using the template there?

Or is this model designed only to be used with 32-bit?

    Hello

Each preinstalled own Toshiba notebook with recovery image has of course, fairly slow start. Is not visible on your laptop only. When I got my Satellite P500 I noticed the same thing.
This is nothing unusual because software Toshiba engineers have enabled Autostart with Windows for all important and utility tools. Some of them are not so important and can be disabled.

Antivir (McAffe) preinstalled application can also slow Windows startup, so there is definitely no reason to panic. What you need to do is to configure your Windows. This means remove all applications, you do not need. Disable auto-start for all Toshiba stuff you n t need.
Also, make sure that the Microsoft updates are not set to the automatic update option. This means that Windows can download all the updates in the background and you will know what is going on. This download and installation can and will slow down the performance of the laptop.

I recommend choose you option inform me of updates but let me choose... When you do this, you wll be informed of new updates. You can check the updates are listed, and then decide to install immediately, or maybe more later.

Check this and let us know whether or not the starting time will be reduced.

  • Slow start upward with the Satellite P300 - 18 M (PSPCCE)

This question has already partly been requested, however, I would like to ask everyone this question specifically:

-What someone knows a slow start at the top with the P300 - 18 M?

Please, even if your computer starts correctly, I would appreciate a response, so I can see if it's a problem with all of these machines, or if there is a problem with mine.

By starting slowly, I mean that:

After the vista screen "Loading" and "Orb" appear:

  • Black screen instead of desktop Windows XP on Satellite A100-455

I now have a permanent problem with my laptop Satellite A100-455, since it does not stop properly (in fact that he stopped when the battery was out...).
Now systematically when I try to start the laptop, after the Toshiba and Windows XP family logo the rest black (only the work of the mouse arrow), the Windows desktop display ever!

Even with a mode F8, I tried a few options without success...
    What can I do?
Do you think that the only solution is the recovery of the system with the original recovery CD supplied with the laptop?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hmm, try this:
Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter from the portable computer
Wait a bit (1 hour should be enough) and together the two parties again.
Then try to restart the device

Otherwise, the new installation of the OS by using the recovery disk is a good choice and shouldn't take too long the procedure as a whole doesn't take longer than 10 minutes!

See you soon and good luck!

  • Install Windows 7 on Satellite A100-SK9

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-SK9 with its original operating system (win xp), installed on it and I was thinking about upgrading my operating system to windows 7.
I just happen to have a copy of the box (the receipt of a friend) and I was wondering if it's okay to use to do a fresh install or I have to buy a drive for upgrade of windows 7 Toshiba?

    Thank you

Toshiba upgrade kit is not designed for these old models of laptops and Windows XP Home edition cannot be upgraded. As far as I know just more recent Vista preinstalled laptop can be improved.
What you need is the Microsoft Win7 installation disc.
What you can do is to make double installation of the OS.

You can install Win7 on the second partition and test it first.
Where you bought your laptop? What is the country of purchase?
Satellite A100-SK9 does not for me?

  • Cannot start Windows installation on Satellite S50-A-10R

I just bought a Satellite S50-A-10R and I try to install Windows on it... This is not my first time done it but know I think that I put a block... I start the laptop, open the DVD-rom, put in the DVD with windows and try to restart the laptop.

When I press the power button / nothing happens. I have to unplug it to make it stop.
When I power on the laptop again, I still don't receive any message / is not Windows install and it doesn t close again by pressing the power button...
If anyone has any ideas please tell me...

I put it to start first of all of the weird
I used a windows 7 and a DVD of widows 8.1 but nothing

I agree, the laptop s BIOS UEFI capable and generally UEFI is activated, which means that only taking support UEFI (Win 8 or 8.1 Win) can be installed.

In case you want to install other systems, you must pass the to the CSM UEFI boot mode.
Secure boot should also be disabled.

  • Cannot start Windows Vista on Satellite Pro A40

I haven't used my Satellite Pro A40 for awhile and I'm now greeted with a black BACK screen with an error message saying that Windows XP could not start properly.
I have had this once before but when I waited so that Windows starts normally it was fine.

This time he just continues to move toward opening screen windows then the Toshiba screen then back to the black screen again.

I read somewhere here that now the key 0 when starting may solve the problem, but there is no mention of this in the manual of the A40, and when I tried it on the off-chance that is nothing past.

    Any ideas?
    Help, please!

    Thank you

    Hello

    > I read somewhere here that now the key 0 when starting may solve the problem, but there is no mention of this in the manual of the A40, and when I tried it on the off-chance that is nothing past.

Don t think that this procedure works on your Pro A40. It is a European series and as much as I know this option (by pressing the 0) is not available on European laptops.
What you could do is try to start in safe mode by pressing the F8 key immediately after power on.

She she s not possible to start the operating system using the safe mode then a reinstallation of the new system would be desirable

  • Slow start Windows 7, Office 10

My computer is really very slow to start. I have read & wanted all of "too many programs running at startup" - and I décliqués all those I can 'say' do not need to run - BUT there are one number of others that I don't know if they are important or not - so I do not have the décliqués... I have 3 questions

1 is there a list that says - only WORK ' programmes ' in the beginning upward?

2 d icons / shortcuts on desktop etc make too slow? (i.e. should I delete a lot of shortcuts?)

    3. not having programs pinned to the taskbar the brand down low it slow as well?

I tried the automatic correction of mircosoft - and he says - NO PROBLEM... (but of course, there is a problem!) I have also defragmented, used CCleaner, delete temporary files and hisotry & cookies and not even looked at the "systems" thingy (with graphs etc to see the use of the CPU (?) etc-, BUT I don't really know what I want to...)

Is there a 'service' where I could pay someone to access my computer remotely to look around and see what is the problem?

    How slow is slow?

It is not a list, programs and services that auto execution is specific to your system.

It has always been a problem?

Icons/shortcuts will not cause a problem

What anti virus program do you use? Have you installed the other maintenance utilities? (apartment of CCleaner)

If you clean your PC boot how to run it then?

    I7 4th generation double heart

I would like to know what to do?

    Original title: Windows 8

    Hi stephane,

This all the troubleshooting steps you have made outside the windows updates?

To resolve the problem with the start of Windows 8.1, follow these methods:

    Method 1:

First of all, I suggest to disconnect all external devices except the monitor, keyboard and mouse, then check if you are faced with the same question.

    Method 2:

I suggest you to make sure that the quick start is enabled. Quick Start (start hybrid or hybrid Shutdown) is a new feature in Windows 8 to help launch more quickly off your PC:

    (a) hold down the Windows key + X and select Control Panel (Display icon), click the Power Options icon.

    (b) click/click on the link Choose this as the power made buttons on the left side.

    (c) If prompted by UAC (User Account Control), and then click/click on Yes.

    (d) on the define power buttons and turn on password protection window, under stop settings , uncheck the option enable fast start.

    (e) restart the computer and test the issue.

It will be useful. If you have additional questions on the computer, please ask your question about Windows and we will be happy to help you.

  • Problem installing Windows XP on Satellite A100

I have a Toshiba A100 with Windows XP (German) and I would like to clean install Windows XP (English). At the start of the CD installation normally inspects the hardware configuration, but after that it crashes. I left it for 15-20 minutes but there was no response, and then I had to leave the facility.

The installation guide for windows xp says it has something to do with the hardware compatibility. (I tried pressing F5, F6, F7 to skip this step, but did not help)
I tried the same installation CD on the laptop from my friend (of another brand) and it worked! I wonder what is so specific as to the compatibility of equipment for Toshiba laptop with windows xp.

However, my (German OS) recovery CD works great!

Can someone help me on this issue?

  • A slow Internet connection is in Satellite A100-233

Computer laptop A100-233 is slower download speeds of about 2-4 KB / s, although my server is too slow. The problem is that the same coffee, the same files at the same time pass at a speed of about 8-10 kbit/s.

It is with internet explore 6 and 7 and without use of any download managers. The speed is limited by modem integrated by Toshiba? Is this what can I do to increase my download speed?

    Hello

Each LAN card has own specifications on the speed of data transfer and there is no any type of restriction. If the download speed is slow for you, it must be a problem with the connection, or maybe a lot of users do download at the same time.

I'm sure that has nothing to do with your laptop.

I don't know how you download all the data you need, but it may be that upload speed is also rich and it can slows down the entire data transfer. Try to talk with employees of the coffee.
