Security cable

Just bought my first Chromebook, a CB3-111-C670. I need a security cable. The leaves are too large to fit in the slot on the Chromebook. Someone to identify a cable that fits? A Kensington will work? TIA.

Roger44,

Yes, actually, the security on the Chromebook spot is designed for Kensington, locking devices.

Don't know if this is the right place, but...

I'm designing a system that uses SMB-112 SMB to BNC cables like internal cables. My system needs to be certified UL, and certification framework, is that all the internal insulated cables must be fireproof (VW-1 or equivalent).

I can't find the data sheets for SMB - 112 indicating what security classifications there. Anyone know where I can find this information?

    Thank you

    Thanks for your reply.

I looked on the cable, google print on this topic and found this Factsheet: https://www.ccixpress.com/wcsstore/CCIxpress/images/catalog/catalogPDFs/99/991079.pdf

It lists the side flame complaint with VW-1. That's all that I had to confirm compliance.

To answer your question: there is a requirement for our rack system be UL 61010 certified.

  • Inspiron 13 (7352) looking for a burglar to fit smaller locking port security cable

I am trying to get a cable of anti-theft security for my Dell Inspiron 13 (7352). The lock of Noble (Dell A6451164 part / manufacturer part TZ08) does not fit in the slot. The slot on my Dell Inspiron 13 (7352) measure 0,1875 "(3/16"). "

No one knows what are the 3rd party (Noble, Kensington or other) or Dell security lock enters the port of locking of my Dell Inspiron 13 (7352)?

    Thank you, John H.

    To all:

I apologize, as I do not know if this posting correctly. However here is the solution I have thanks to Kensington locks. I contacted the Kensington locks directly and I was able to find and get a security lock which fits with the help of Kensington. Kensington part number is K64637WW (ClickSafe Keyed laptop Lock). www.Kensington.com/.../ClickSafe-Keyed-Laptop-Locks

To work with the Dell Inspiron 13 (7352) you also part K67973WW (anchor of safety Clicksafe for non-standard security locks). I'm sorry, but I don't know if the K67973WW part comes standard with K64637WW or must be ordered separately.

Tonight, I found K64637WW (ClickSafe Keyed laptop Lock) on Dell Web site (Dell part A4265154), but again, don't know not if K67973WW (anchor of safety Clicksafe for non-standard security locks) is included. I would like to order directly from Kensington.

    End of Solution *.

    -Dissatisfaction with Dell-

On the Dell Web site, a feature is listed that the Dell Inspiron 13 has a 'Noble locking slot", but Dell does not part number that works and the Dell Customer Service and Technical Support have no idea which is the good part. If the TZ08 (Dell A6451164 reference) is the correct Noble for the Dell Inspiron 13 (7352) lock then I guess that I have received a defective TZ08 or another party in a bag labeled TZ08. They also sent me a lock combination of Dell (Dell manufacturer: 461-Abdellaoui / manufacturer: P9NG5) who did not.

  • Security cable for Inspiron 7000 15

What cable lock corresponds to a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop computer 7558 2-in-1?

Interesting.  It seems to be back in stock.

That being said, it's a Noble TZ08 Lock, can be found on most etailers sites like amazon and newegg just looking toward the top of 'tz08 '.

  • Inspiron 11 3000 series security slot

I bought an Inspiron 11 3147 with what appears to have a security slot no K-Slot. But I was unable to find out what kind of slot is. With the laptop, I bought a Kensington (part number Dell A5883764) security cable. The bar on the cable is too wide to fit into the slot on the laptop. The cable fits well in my other devices with a k-slot. The only explanation I can find is that Dell not only did large enough slot, which is also hard to believe to me.

I opened a case with Dell, but the technical support was not able to find a compatible security cable and advised that I contact Kensington.

Joint is a photo showing the slot and cable.

Has anyone else had similar problems?

Recently, I got my Dell Inspiron 7000 13 and I had the same problem with my combination of Kensington lock.

Search for information in the web, it seems that Dell has changed the location of security for a shorter one (Noble safety Wedge) for some tablets, Ultrabooks (including Dell XPS 12) and the Inspiron 14 7437-7000. There is no information for Dell Inspiron 3000 11 or 13 7000 series, but I can see in some images the size of the slot is the same as the Inspiron 14 7000.

The new crack uses security Noble Wedge (manufacturer: TZ08 |) Dell reference: A6451164) and the link to buy it in the Dell store this special security cable is:

    http://Accessories.Dell.com/SNA/ProductDetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=DHS&CS=19&SKU=A6451164

I'll buy this cable hoping that it fit my Dell 13 7000.

    Greetings:

I don't know what to do and have tried anything yet.

If possible, can you guide me through this? I am

trying to connect my PC to a HD of VIZIO TV.

    Thank you

    Hi 88Inator,

Your computer and television have VGA and HDMI ports. VGA port is on the back of the system and HDMI on the left as shown in the images below:

    Chassis rear feature locations
    1 Security cable slots
    2 Network (RJ-45) connector
    3 USB 3.0 connector
    4 VGA connector
    5 AC adapter connector

    Frame left
    1 USB 3.0 connector
    2 Ventilation openings
    3 HDMI connector
    4 eSATA/USB 2.0 connector
    5 Card reader

You can connect your TV with VGA or HDMI port. To connect to the TV with your laptop computer using the VGA ports, need you a cable that has VGA ports on both ends. Otherwise, if you want to connect to the TV with your laptop using HDMI ports, need you a cable that has HDMI ports on both ends.

Note: once you connect the TV with your laptop, make sure you only select the appropriate mode on the TV depending on the type of connection (please refer to the manual of your TV). Additionally, you have to press Fn + F1 to switch the image on an external monitor. Options include the built-in display, an external monitor and both screens at the same time.

  • With the help of a PIX501 to secure and share an internet connection by cable

    Hi all

I bought a PIX501 to secure my home cable modem connection and share it around my house. The PIX will act as a DHCP client (my ISP uses dynamic IP addressing) and use nat and DHCP break with my small number of inside customers.

The default setting (set using the set up of PIX) seems ok - but I did a little "do-it-yourself" after some negative PIX customers I've read here in the United Kingdom.

    Specifically, I: -.

-A refused requests incoming icmp (to make the "invisible" PIX to the outside world)

-Created an access list to allow answers to my outgoing ping (something every geek network must be able to do)

-The value "string fragment 1 outside" to drop incoming fragmented packets

-Limit the number of connections to 200 and embroyonic at 50

-Activated floodguard (although I don't think this should be necessary on such a lightly loaded network)

-Compatible console logging so I have at least a bit of history of all attacks

-Reduced some of the delays of the connection of their default values

As I have a relatively new to this kind of thing anyone have specific advice or tips for a pix used this way?

    Thanks in advance,

    Andrew.

When you work with ICMP, remember that [icmp] command to assign ICMP messages for the pix as the host, while the [access-list] command is used to assign ICMP messages that pass through the Pix.

If you are using IPSec tunnels through the Pix, you can consider letting in string fragment of 2 sizes. IPSec creates broad enough to cause a lot of packets to be fragmented. Path MTU discovery would prevent, but many networks prevent incoming requests that allow the discovery to work. For this same reason, you can also consider allowing the Pix to get unreachable inside your host name if you the Pix end VPN tunnels. [icmp outside any unreachable towing]

Floodguard is enabled by default and does not need to be enabled. It should not be necessary on a little loaded network, but it would be necessary at the time of a DoS attack if you are Pix does authentication "uauth" of traffic entering or leaving the network.

If you are interested, the Pix can authenticate users inside before allowing the traffic leaving using RADIUS. This is useful in situations like a web server inside is attacked from outside. By the application of authentication for other traffic to leave for offending guests options are very limited. A timeout is used to trigger authentication again after some time. The [floodguard] is used to protect this feature "uauth' of the Pix.

The Pix has signatures VERY BASIC integrated IDS that you can activate by using the set of commands [assessment of intellectual property].

Enable SSH for authentication and encryption by generating an RSA key and saving it to Flash. [AC product key 1024 rsa] and [ca save all] disable telnet by removing all orders [telnet] and replace them with [ssh]. [http] should also be limited as much as possible for the administration.

  • I keep getting invited to add security exception. What was asked in Jan - no solution?

cobraflex asked this question in January and I don't see where anyone did. I had this problem all year also - it's a REAL PAIN IN THE BUTT and I (like cobraflex) I'm looking for another customer. The only thing that keeps me is that my schedule is on tuberculosis.

thread cobraflex describes the problem exactly. I use WinXP sp3, tuberculosis is up to date. My ISP is shaw.ca cable with a Cisco portal. My computer is a wired connection to a router (linksys) using DD - WRT. No other problems!

    Here's cobraflex "post...

"im constantly wondered, sometimes several times per minute, to"confirm security exception". I always make sure that "permanently store this exception", before you click on "confirm security exception", but it doesn't seem to work, because a few minutes later I get exactly the same pop up once again, for all my email accounts.

Ive been using thunderbird for years and usually in that case only, just once, after ive turned my anti-virus and turn it back on. But this time it started to happen on its own and has been tirelessly harassing me. Sometimes the pop up will appear while im in the middle of typing an email and cut me in my stride, so the program is almost impossible to use now.

Do you know why this could happen? "

Well, my 2nd pet irritate? It is absolutely amazing how people don't understand that the DATA is completely useless if it is not accompanied by a DATE! People NEVER delete data from their databases so that you can't tell if it's 6 months or 6 years!

Not quite the case here - your last post was close enough so that when I called Shaw, we were able to sort it out.

They specify no inbound security - defaults to what we have implemented under "outgoing server".

Therefore, it seems more like this...

        Incoming Server: pop.shaw.ca
Server Type: POP Mail Server (can't change this)
       Security Type: none
Authentication: Normal Password (or Password, transited insecurely)
       Port: 110

    Mail out with authentication server

    SMTP server

       Description: Shaw
       Server Name: mail.shaw.ca
       Connection Security: STARTTLS
       Port: 587
       Authentication: Normal Password
Remote Access: We don't have access to this setting but worth
       checking maybe - S/B Enabled

OH! AND you must make sure that his is the DEFAULT Server!

It seems to work so far. I will return if it happens again (like keeping the full thread for others).

Thanks for all your help - REALLY appreciate your persistence, now I can go back to being a happy user of Mozilla!

    Thanks again,

  • All of a sudden I can't open attachments to emails. I get a message that the 'security settings' do not allow. Where are these settings and who put?

I use TWC (Time Warner Cable) as my server e-mail and Firefox as my browser. I went to my emails and has attempted to open an attachment and got an error message stating "security settings prevent the download file. Well, I contacted TWC, Norton and my PC settings. It seems that Firefox is the problem! If I use another browser ie: Google and go to my email account, I have no problem. I remember recently that Firefox did a download of updates and this may be the cause of the problem.

Thank you for your private message with the error text: "your current security settings do not allow this file to download."

    Best regards, Steffen

The TC is installed within a university network via cable, and I still have the problem to get connected to the internet.

Most likely, your University has an Internet router at the other end of this cable. That would mean, you need to configure your TC properly in order to access the Internet. The best course of action is to speak with your University of departmental it to get this set up.

However, I want to make my backup, which is not possible via WIFI, such as the TC is not properly installed in the internet.

The TC has NO need to have an Internet connection to use Time Machine for backups. Your Mac has just need to be on the same wireless network that provides the TC.

    • where to plug the MacBook (I have a USB-Ethernet adapter for the retina of 13 MB) in the TC? The man or the host 3 ethernet Ethernet plug?

It must be plugged into one of the three ports LAN (opposing arrows).

    • How can I tell my MB and the TC that the GET connected? (as I can't see the TC on my MB as device)

In its default configuration, the TC will broadcast a Wi - Fi network that is not secure, with a network name of something like: Apple network NNNNNN. You just need to connect your MB to this network.

    • the reform through to get a proper backup?

Sorry, but I do not understand your question.

    • and: does anyone have a tip for the installation of a TC in a protected University LAN/WLAN? who are the preferred settings? (I spoil in a point and I'm not fixed)

Yes, talk with your University computer support staff.
