  I have an Advent 8111 laptop and I am trying to format the hard drive and reinstall Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. I have a copy of the Widows XP MCE 2005 to my IT Department at my workplace as they said that they could download and burn for me quickly!
  but after formatting the hard drive and the partion on my laptop I have to type my product key, which I got from the bottom of the laptop. The error window pops up saying "you entered the CD key is not valid" and I don't see any other option to have passed this stage. I contacted ADVENT but they were not able to help. What should I do next?

But am getting this error message immediately after you enter the serial number and authentication code. I tried to install different versions of the .net Framework (from 1.1 to 4), but nothing seems to solve the problem.

  I even tried to install it in mode compatibality. but no luck.

  Just for the follow-up of this: I have sent comments, and they responded in 20 minutes with:

  Please contact the Support of the note.  I'm sorry that you are experiencing this error, but it seems by the error message that you install note on a Windows 7 computer.  This error is caused by a Microsoft security update that was released in July 2011 for Windows 7 and caused upward to change our software.  Here is access to our Download Center for you to install the version 8.4 of note.  You will use your current serial number, license key and authentication code.
  They then provided a link to their Download Center where I could download 8.4
  E - mailer to * address email is removed from the privacy * and they will answer you. They have great customer service.

  Yes; you would have to buy 7.

  There is no free upgrade to Windows 7.

  There was a special offer to do that a few years back; but this offer has expired for a long time.

  Before purchasing Windows 7, follow these steps:

  If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

• HP Jet 13: could not get the usable screen after you enter the password when you restart

  After reboot I get the standard wallpaper (like the rings of Saturn), hour, day, week, month, and day, wifi bars and battery.  After the press, I have the icon pushing, my name, email and password.  By entering the password I get the points surrounding white and WELCOME, then by default in the screen with only sûr white pointer visiible.

  That's all new laptop from Amazon and seemed to work well until I have intalled the Office 365 online.  Then I started to get warnings from McAfee on bad files 'try to start', then the blank screen even during reboot.

  Please let me how to restore my system or to whom to return it.

  Boot the computer normally and log.

  Black screen, hold down the ctrl and alt keys and press delete.

  Select Task Manager.

  Click on file and select the new task.

  Type rstrui - also enter a tick in the box for "create this task with administrative privileges" - and click on Ok.

  When the system restore interface is loaded, choose a restore point at least 48 hours before the log - it occurs first and then proceed to the system restore.

  This error occurs when the 'HASP License Manager"service no longer works correctly, stopped or not allowed in your environment. Before you continue with the troubleshooting steps, I would like to know some information about this problem.

  1. what security software is installed on your computer?

  I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it works for you.

  Method 1:

  Make sure that the HASP License Manager Service is started. Try the following steps to check whether the service is started or not.

  Hello, I use MS Outlook 2007 and Windows Vista.  I get an error message when it is sent and receipt that States - "your IMAP server wishes to alert you on the following: 100 (1032), that mail is not currently available."

  I have studied this issue online and I was unable to find a solution.  I went to the MS Office support, they have major problems, but they do not have a space where you can type in your question, which was not helpful.  I also went to Outlook - Tools - account settings - then I fixed the 6 emails that have IMAP.  It will setup process and once finished it is said: "Congratulations," I have sent test emails to other emails to all IMAP accounts and I received.  The error message constantly, and I don't know what else to do.  Help, please!

• Chicony Webcam not accessible after upgrade from Vista to Win 7 Home Premium

  I've upgraded or updated for Windows - 7 Edition Home Premium a couple of years on my Toshiba Satellite U305-S7448.  It has built in Chicony Webcam.  The camera used to have a Panel control that opens on the edge of the screen.  Now, no matter where I look at and I went to the Toshiba and Chicony sites to get the drivers I don't find a way to turn on the camera.  If I use Skype, it turns on and works normally for this function.  Recently, I clicked to add a profile picture on Google + and once again the camera came and worked very well.  When I look at the devices and click on the camera it tells me that it works correctly.  What escapes me that I can't use the camera as I could when I had Vista on the laptop originally?

  Thanks for all the advice and assistance to anyone.  I don't know exactly how to use these forums and technology in general.  I just want to know all that, after tripping over the Toshiba support site I finally found the solution to my problem.  There is a download for what they call the Total Value Package I think is the name.  It must be installed before the drivers webcam and then everything works as it did when the laptop was new.  Down load is listed as, util_tvap_TC00214700M, in my folder.

  Hey. Unable to get a (a gaugefield) on a Popupscreen progress bar to show. It is called from a menu. The user clicks a menu item, and a method is called. The method among other pushes a Popupscreen containing a Gaugefield on display battery-code below. Then, he starts a thread which downloads an image and using join() to wait for it complete (long story). Then, in the thread of events, it appears the Popupscreen.

  The menu does not disappear when you click on it in the Simulator (JDE 4.7, the Bold 9700 sim), but the download happens. Once the download is complete, the menu disappears, the Popupscreen is shown and he tried to pop() Popupscreen, causing an IllegalArgumentException.

  Rule #1: all display updates should occur on the thread event or synchronized on the lock of the event.

  Rule #2: the thread of events (or now the lock of the event) should never be blocked by lengthy operations.

  The scenario you sketched out is usually handled like this: menu item run() method don't whatever immediate user interface updates are necessary and starts a worker thread. It does not wait until the thread ends before returning. (If so, updates the user interface include pushing a "Please wait" or progress pop up). The worker, at the same time, begins to do its stuff. When it's time to update the user interface (either because the task is completed or to view progress) the worker thread usually called invokeLater (Runnable) (a method in the Application class) where the executable run() method updates the user interface. If the worker thread must receive user input in his work, he can use invokeAndWait (Runnable), where the executable not all interactions of the user and stores the user entry somewhere so that the worker thread can grab after invokeAndWait() returns.

  Although the synchronization on event lock works perfectly well, it is more common for some reason any to invoke a Runnable, perhaps because the latter clearly encapsulates in a separate object the work to be done on the event thread.
