  • Windows Security Center is disabled and there is that no Service security not listed under services. Also, the Windows Firewall does not work.

I have a security alert window in the center of the Action, which shows me that the Security Center Service is disabled. When I try to turn it on by clicking the Activate button now, I get the message: could not start the Service Windows Security Center without any error code. When I start my program I see no registration for the Security Service in services.msc. I use Windows 7 Ultimate SP1. I tried to scan with Microsoft Security Essentials, which is updated. There is no threat detected. For which I am sure that I use it for some time now about a year and a half. I got no software or hardware change recently. Also, I'm not able to update my Windows Firewall settings. When I try to change the settings there is a message: Firewall Windows cannot change some of your settings. Error code 0 x 80070424. Please help as I have tried to go well as each answer or the Forum but without success. What is a bug MSE or a real problem.

When you have imported the registry key, you probably do not change the permissions on the registry keys.

    Reach

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\BFE

    Right click on it -permissions

    Click ADD and type

    Everyone, and then click ok

    Now click on all

Below, you have the permission for users

Select full control, and then click ok

DO the same for the "reg" MPSSVC so key which also returns access denied.

Make sure also canceled to start service to invite you, he should be admin/elevated command prompt.

Also, you may need a system restart after changing the permissions on the registry key.

    I hope this helps.

When I click on anti virus install and automatic change Security Center is to disable and then start... .but still referring new problem and auto to turn off again, I don't know how you can keep this obtion to automatic. Please help me. :)

    Hi LalithNaveen,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. what security software you have installed on the computer?

3 have you tried to start manually Security Center?

I suggest you temporary disable the security software on the computer and then check if the problem persists.

Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Said automatic updated Security Center is disabled; Control Panel says it's on

Recently starting Win xp, Security Center displays indicating that automatic updates is disabled. When I click to turn it on, he says he cannot not and indicates that it takes to do this via the control panel. In the Panel, it is stated that automatic updates is enabled actually.

It started a few weeks ago the same then, as a malware attack, which since then has been cleaned (apparently).

I don't know if associated: try to use Microsoft Windows Update: breaks down, ditto always fails just check the updates.

Even if the infection has been removed some repair work is needed.

Take a look at the following article in the knowledge base.

I've never had this problem before, but this morning, my red shield, which is the virus protection is turned OFF and I can't turn it back on! • Problem the multifaceted - Security Center does not respond / in IE8 Google searches are redirected / cannot attach files to MSN emails (browser blocks) HELP!

My problem is two (or three) times; Windows Security arrested Esentials closed and not would again be turned on; Windows Security Center is disabled and will not respond to all the methods of the market; IE 8 sends all Google search clicks to redirect pages and makes the back browser arrow almost impossible to use. E-mail MSN will not accept all attachments - blocks the browser window.  I uninstalled Security Essentials and reinstalled nothing doesn't.  Have gone to Spybot and Adaware and installed these programs and run them to "clean" the everything unwanteds but re-boots of a Security Center right back. No idea at all what to whether on programs related to the re - search on Google.  Uninstalled and installed the final license, two of them I had to Norton 360.  This program after hours of in-depth analysis has nothing found was not in the line of virus, worm, or whatnot.  Help! It's maddening.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.

    Hi ChazboK,

    1. are you able to send attachments to other webmail?
    2. What is the size of the attachment that you join?

Note: you should never have more than one security program installed on the PC, providing active protection / scan. This can cause performance problems, system instability and may adversely affect the effectiveness of these two products to provide protection.

    Scenario 1:

I suggest you to disable any program of security on your computer and check if the browser redirects.

After reviewing the question you must reactivate the security on your computer program.

Note: run the computer without antivirus software or firewall is a potential threat to the computer; Be sure to activate security software after completing the troubleshooting steps and after identifying the problem.

    Step 2:

Second, the problem may be caused by an add-on corrupted in Internet Explorer. To confirm the same, run Internet Explorer in safe modules mode, and check if the problem persists.

Open Internet Explorer in mode without modules,

    a. click the Start button, click all programs.
    b. click on accessories.
    c. click System Tools.
    d. then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

If disabling all add-ons solves the problem, you can use the add-on Manager to disable all add-ons and then turn on modules only as needed. This will allow you to figure out which add-on is causing the problem.

Remove the damaged module and restart Internet Explorer normally and check if the problem reappears.

After you have used this process to determine which add-on causes errors, you can disable this add-on. Or, you can uninstall the software that installs the add-on. We also recommend that you contact the software vendor that provided the add-on for additional troubleshooting and support.

    Step 3:

If the method above does not resolve the problem, then I suggest you to perform an optimization of Internet Explorer on your computer and find the number.

  • Permanently disabled, Windows Security Center cannot be re-enabled or restarted.

So I opened a file (like a fool) obvious malware and there is the Windows Security Center will be automatically disabled. Reactivation and restarting via the menu of Services only solves the problem for a minute or two, after which I get an Action Center message informing me that the Security Center is disabled later. I ran full scans with Malwarebytes and AVG Free, which neither identify all threats. Spybot S & D seems to identify that Security Center is not running, but "fixing" with S & D only reactive and restarts the service, after which it is invalid promptly thereafter. Can anyone help?

The fact that you can re-enable and restart the service and then see off again (if I understand correctly your information) is a strong indication that there is still an active infection on your computer (as opposed to the impossibility for the throw at all which is often the result of inflicted malware corrupted registry).

Use the Windows Firewall and BFE (base filtering engine)?

I recommend that you run the following tools in more malwarebytes and AVG.

  • How can I fix registry REG_DWORD START 0 X 00000004 (4) to start Security Center

I have windows xp sp3 and I recently brought a malware that turn off my Security Center. SpyBoot s & d show me
SBI $2E20C9A9 after scanning. How can I fix? I am a beginner.
    Thank you.

When a Service has a 4 start type in the registry, it means that the Service is disabled.

Spybot has detected and and earns you an information (not necessarily an error) message that your XP Service Security Center is disabled.  In most cases, it would be active and running.

Spybot (or other applications) cannot say if you did it on purpose, or some malicious software has done to/for you, then it will give you an option to ignore or try to fix it.

Unless you disabled the Service yourself on purpose or installed some type of security software on your system replacement to replace the XP version, I think that the Security Center Service could be running.

XP Security Center is not incompatible with Spybot, so I'd be suspicious of the informative message (not necessarily an error message) and understand what is happening.

Some things that you may have installed to disable some Security Services XP for you, you may have a malware infection, or the Service might just be disabled and you will need to enable it, start it, and set it to auto-start.

I do not think that things in the article 313222 is the starting point, but I'm not a technical support engineer.

    Hi DavidCBolton,

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         You use a third-party security software?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Enable and disable the Security Center service:

    (a) click Start, type services.msc in the start search box and press enter.

    (b) in the list of Services, right click on Security Center, clicking Properties
    and select disabled.

    (c) restart the computer.

    (d) follow step a and band select Automatic (delayed start).

    (e) start the Service.

Method 2: Perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the link step 7 to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Method 3: Scan the System File Checker (SFC) to repair corrupted files.

  • Windows Security Center opens after several tests.

Hello, I got a virus a few months ago that was hidden in a fake antivirus which I managed to remove but disabled all security. I bought Norton 2011 witch managed to remove it. Never, since the Security Center cannot start and I was recently able to restore Windows Defender. However I still cannot start the Security Center. First of all, it will not display in any editors or the registry due to the ActiveX is not able to view. Then when I run regedit or services.msc and try to go to erase internet areas seems not not here.

    System type: 32-bit OS

    Hi luistarin,

Now if it is the Security Center, please check the answers and suggestions in the following thread:http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/protect/forum/protect_start/xp-security-center-reports-virus-protection-not/1484c369-a138-4544-aa40-a3bb91dee5b9. Specifically, try the fix which is recommended.  Although written for XP, with a little tweaking because they are a little different, she can apply to Vista and W7 as well and changes should not be too difficult to understand.

You should have probably not as well Windows Defender and Norton at the same time.  I suspect that Norton Cup defender when he installed because he believed that there could be a conflict.  Several AV products do the same thing.  Run them together can cause conflicts, freezes, crashes and make each product will not work at its full potential.  Although probably not a cause for this, it could be.  In any case, you must disable the Defender.

You can still be infected by the virus or malware (or even something else).  Take care that I suggest the following:

First, try the following programs if you do not, because they can help. I recommend you download, install, update and run full scans with Malwarebytes:http://www.malwarebytes.org/and SuperAntiSpyware:http://superantispyware.com/ and then run a full scan of Microsoft Security:http://www.microsoft.com/security/default.aspx. This may or may not remove the infections, but will probably not correct the damage caused by them. Even if they or your current AV software seem to work or indicate that you are not infected, you should not completely trust in them and must continue with the recommendations that follow (so it's up to you if you want to try them first, or just ignore all this and get help from an expert you really need as described below).

Correctly and completely remove these infections can be complex and often require manual removal procedures (which may or may not be entirely effective either). Even if they work, I suggest what follows in any case, so that we can start it (you can ignore the methods above if you want it really is the way forward, but it won't hurt to them for trying).
