Security in notes

Basically I want a safe place on my Pre to store passwords, etc. I used to use the security option in notes for my Palm Centro, for example. "Show, hide or hide private folders.  When I did a transfer of data to my new pre, transferred memos, but there is no security option. Someone knows a way to do it on the pre or y at - it a soft party 3rd for this?

THX,

Laurent

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Normally, I would recommend SplashID, which is absolutely fantastic. I've been using for years to organize and store my pieces of information on different smartphones. It was available in the catalogue of application pre until recently. I think that, like other software in the webOS app catalog, is currently in beta for Pre. Don't know what was going on his retirement, but he'll be back soon, I hope.

In the meantime, you can lock your entire phone and store the information in the notes that you have made, but without being able to mark individuals as private memos or mask/hide their. Once you unlock your phone, of course, everything is visible, so be careful of who you give to the what you demo your new toy.

    Hey lasdj,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers site!

If you receive Windows Update error 6d9e while installing SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 by using Windows Update, it means that the installation folders and directories are compressed or encrypted.

To fix this problem, make sure the folder locations where you are installing the service pack to aren't compressed or encrypted, or specify a different folder and then run Windows Update again.

Therefore, remove the compression of the DATA directory and run together to the top again.

Remove compression from the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server folder and see if you are able to install the updates without any problem.

  • N2048 port security does not

    Hi Experts,

Only, we have deployed a new site that uses the Dell N2048 switches in a stack.

Now we would add port security to the switch, Port-MAC locking to lockdown one port if another computer.

According to the manual, to put in place we only need of to the port to locked under the MISTLETOE under switching, network security, port security.

    This does not activate it.

We tried to add via the command line, in the ports of test, it now shows:

switchport security of dynamic ports 1

Still, port security is not enabled. There is another thing that must be enabled in the world to do this job or other commands?

    Thank you

The output of port security-# show is as follows:

    Port Security Administration Mode: enabled

It is possible that the tests were not done fast enough. I spent the time-out and ask them to test again.

Basic services of the title: original TMP (TBS)

I'm running Windows 7 x 64 SP1 Enterprise Edition.  We use DDPE to manage BitLocker.  Laptops are not encrypted.  According to the journal of DDPE encryption starting not due to the fact that the the TPM Base Services (TBS) secure is not started.  Open services.msc and realized that TBS was not even as a service.  Research on TBS and found it's relies on the file "tbssvc.dll.  This file is not anywhere on my PC, (should be in Windows\System32).  I hope someone can help me with the following questions.  I'M assuming that TBS is a Windows service?  He would appear in a standard installation? Windows Update?  If it is standard, and it does not install, is there a way to reinstall the service?  I found a link on the Dell site that got copy tbssvc.dll from a work computer, paste it to a computer for non-working, create new registry keys and register the dll from the registry.  It works, but I prefer not to go down this rabbit hole if there is a simpler solution.  Thanks for your help.

    Hi all

Currently, I am looking for the list of security patches not released by microsoft over the years 2007 to 2009.

I am aware that most of these islands are very old and new version (superseeded) patches have been released by microsoft.

  • Why I suddenly my favorite addons display warnings 'security could not be verified "?

It is a new problem. Several of my addons are show this warning, even an add-on of my Avast! AV! Fortunately, they still work, but will be blocked to run with version FF 43, I read.

The current releases of Firefox use the extensions to sign to prevent abuse.

40-42 of Firefox: Firefox warns on signatures, but not respect them.
43 Firefox: Firefox will have a preference that allows the application of signature should be disabled (xpinstall.signatures.required in all: config).
Firefox 44: Versions Release and beta of Firefox will not allow unsigned extensions to install, with no substitution.

You will need to wait for your security software offers extensions that are signed by Mozilla.

  • Why doesn't Java Deployment Toolkit (click-to-play) is blocked, as the referenced bug is closed and there is no security problem not known in Version 7 U51?

In my view, it is important to block insecure addons. But if you do it should be an open bug assigened. The bug referenced to this add-on is already resolved, so I do not know why this plugin is disabled. https://Bugzilla.Mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=636633

I have the problem that I want to use Secure_Auth that uses the Deployment Kit Java of nasty (via javascript) way that firefox does not see the deployment kit must be started. This is why I have not expected this plugin still for this web site. Since there is no available documentation how to do this configuration in a config file that I'm stuck at the moment.

I'm a little surprised liitle which blocks all versions (same secure versions) is a way to get a good user experience.

    Concerning

    Martin

    MG_DAU,

Why do you think that the problem is caused by the block of Java Deployment Toolkit, not Java itself? See http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/deployment_toolkit.xml and this document I found with a google search:

For general information on the use of Java on trusted sites, see:

I want to update, but does not lose the security I have and like you.

A catch-22 here: updated to avoid blocking-time problems and lose my security, I'm uncomfortable with OR keep my AVG security and put up with the frustration of time hang "Mozilla does not.

  • Satellite C50 - secure boot not configured correctly build 9600

    Hello

Recently bought a refurbished nine Toshiba Satellite C50 8.1 of windows operating system. Was very happy with it but found the message 'not properly configured SecureBoot 9600 building "watermark in the lower right corner of my office. '.

Decided to search the Internet for a resolution and after being gone on 3 Troubleshooting sites, discovered on the necessary BIOS configuration, but he warned that it was for experienced users who know their stuff on the technical aspects of computers. While I am computer literate, I'm not someone who likes to mess with the advanced options. Then, I came across a reliable computer blog that had a detailed post on SecureBoot.

(Link to the blog post and specfic):
    www.techrepublic.com/blog/Windows-and-Office/deal-with-the-secureboot-isn't-configured-correctly-watermark-in-windows-81/)

I thought that that would solve my problem, and I have to admit that he helped, telling me to use windows powershell as a precaution before using the BIOS Setup. I was glad I did as it came in saying that I have a policy of SecureBoot of the present failure on my laptop which case I have to request technical support for a specific system solution that would generally be an update of the firmware.

I tried to call, but the line was busy and estimated it might be easier to post this question on a forum.

If anyone has an answer please help as I would like to really activate SecureBoot if possible, I believe that computers must be set up with the best possible security options and makes me feel comfortable in knowing that it is implemented safely.

Someone commented on the blog and posted this solution:

The fix for the registry to remove the watermark is as follows.
    1. start the registry with the Admin (C:\Windows\regedit) rights Editor
    2. navigate to the following location
    -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE-Microsoft-Windows-CurrentVersion------policies------system.
    3. here, the two values "ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin ' and 'EnableLUA 'the value' 0'.

You can also try to activate the boot option secure in the BIOS (in which case it is not already selected)
To enter the BIOS, press F2 during the turn on/off the device.

Also recommend that you check this page from Microsoft:
