  It would really depend on how many lines was nothing compared to the number of lines not null.  An index of single column on r_timeout would be index only the non-null values, then, if most of the rows have a null value for r_timeout which could be quite effective as a path.  However, if most of the lines are not zero, then it is likely that a full table scan would be more effective, especially if you select all the columns in the table.

  How can I run my validations after confirming that a specific field is not NULL?

  One of my validation needs to ensure that a specific page element is not NULL, then I use the option 'required value' of the page element, but it seems that the validation is performed before the option "required value.

  I know I could create 2 different validations for each case, but I think it would be nicer if I could work through the only validation and leave the APEX to manage the field validation is NOT NULL

  According to my experience, it appears that the APEX is going through all THE postings...

  IE, if a "failure" of Validation continues.

  It's actually beneficial for the end user, because it will get ALL the errors in the form he or she made... not just a first.

  workaround solution:

  1. Remove the 'required' on the element value (.. but keep the "required" model)
  2. Add the NOT NULL check to your personal validation process.

  Very probably, the 2nd one will be in a PL/SQL function return error text.

  I read a lot of threads on this topic. I'm not trying to force the user to stay in one area or otherwise, be annoyed. I would like to just draw the attention of the user when they record the PDF file if there are mandatory fields have not been completed. The alert message would simply be a reminder polite form before sending.

  I use Acrobat Pro XI.

  (1) is the other tasks/Set Document Actions / Document will save the right place to use a script in this case?

  (2) the script will check each field required name? Or is it possible to reference all the fields requested in the document?

  (3) I have seen a few examples like this:

  Exactly how you check a field is empty depends on what kind of field it is. For text fields, you must get the value of the field as a string and compare it to an empty string, something like:

  var val = getField("Text1").valueAsString;

  If {(val)

  App.Alert ("field is not empty");

  }

  If there is a default value that needs to be changed, you would compare it to the default value:

  var f = getField ("Text1");

  var val = f.valueAsString;

  If (val! == f.defaultValue) {}

  App.Alert ("field value is OK");

  }

  For checkboxes and radio buttons, you would compare it to the string "Off", which means that none in the group is selected.

  For drop-down lists (combo boxes) and list boxes, there is normally a single value selected, so you should get the value and check the default value (or something else) to see if the field is filled in correctly.

  You could place the script it, but I usually use a separate button that I encourage the user to click to activate the check box. The problem with the help of her saving the event is that you cannot stop the backup.

  The script can loop through all of the fields (and test all zeros required), or you can define an array of domain names to check.

  It may be helpful... really depends on what you store in this field and if/how and how often people need to search on it. If the field is never searched on and then you do the DB do additional important work to build and maintain the index of area.

  Bex makes a pretty good point on creating indexes, but Oracle cannot index large columns.

  Before reading this I let know that I am not DBA or DB expert but have learned such things in nature.

  What you really want to avoid running a search which causes a search in the comic book. This isn't a question also for small DB (if it still causes a higher CPU usage) but when you have a lot of lines the DB can really get tied up with these queries.

  For a large field as xComments (I often see the value 2000 characters) Oracle Text is a good choice to eliminate the tablescans but I would be only implemented this index, if you think that users will be responsible for research against this field with a certain frequency.

  In terms of SUBSTR and CONTAINS.

  SUBSTR is PLSQL function and will be (I think) guarantee an analysis in this case.
  CONTAINS is an operator that will make use of the Oracle text index.

  You can go the the file menu Photos and click New Smart Album, and then set the condition of Album - is not. This will create a smart album that will show you all the photos that are not in any other album.

  Yes, I tried all of these suggestions before posting and thank you for the reply.  I even called Comcast, my cable provider, in despair attempt to resolve.  Of course, they were no help, but it didn't end up being a problem, with what they should have helped me.

  By simple trial and error for several hours, I discovered that the domain name required to be filled in the first Panel of the router Linksys software.  The domain name resulted in the status panel but needed to be included in the initial group.  The forums I read had informed that some cable companies require the name of the computer and the domain name is filled and others not.  Obviously, if Comcast domain name must be filled out, but not the name of the computer.
