  How a table of contents to open to match a subject that opens during the invioking of the context-sensitive help? I can't seem to find thecommand for this and haven't seen an answer to this question in the archives.

  Does anyone else have this problem? I use webhelp with contextual sensitivity, and I appeal to the table of contents, Index, search, and glossary to display. If I go to the welcome home page, they are exposed. But when we ask for help on a particular page, these areas are not shown, but they can be opened using the view link. I much prefer to see the exposed left pane, rather that ask the user to click on this link. How can I do this?

• Parent to see the table of contents in the project of the child

  Hello

  I will have difficulty to display the table of contents merged into the project of the child.  The application, I work with called via a URL.

  When I open one of the child htm files after generating locally, I see the contents of the Parent table.  But when I move the project to the server via FileZilla and display help via the application, the Parent html files is displayed the table of contents merged, but the child shows only the TOC of the child.

  I have read all the info on the site of Peter Grainge, but can't see what I can change to make it work.

  In settings of WebHelp, Show merged TOC in the child project is enabled for the Parent.

  I tried to experiment with the different calls of URL described on the website of Peter, but if I use the suggested format (X:/helpfolder/startpage.htm#mergedprojects/child_project/target_topic_1.htm) I find myself with the two tables of contents showing.

  It is a common mistake. Somewhere in your configuration, you claim the home page when you call the default theme. Maybe in your redirection?

• How can I display the table of contents for the iPod Touch to 6

  When I opened first of all iPod Touch Users' Guide, I used the table of contents (TOC) to locate and access sections in the manual. But, after looking through the manual for awhile, I tried to return to the table of contents, but it wasn't there! I have tried various things to see if the table of contents are being hidden, or if in some way, it has been deleted. Anyone can shed light on this mysterious event?

  I am writing an iBook on a Mac Book Pro of the retina, and when I go to see the table of contents it shows no picture... so I do something wrong, or not do something, everyone knows what this might be? Here you have a Table of contents on iBook author image. It is said that there are 5 chapters and Chapter 3 marking and it should show the main image of this chapter and down a row of thumbnails of all pages of this chapter. Nothing shows... I'd appreciate any info to solve this problem. Thank you.

  the thumbnails do not appear when you look at the table of contents to the author of the ib.  You must create the .ibooks file, do a preview for mac, and open it with the ibooks software and you will see knock thumbnails view or put your book on a iPad and if switch you to the comparable iPad display, thumbnails will be visible there.

  In addition, you must file an image file in the placeholder, which will be visible on each index type toc page, yes a picture shown throughout the book.

  Captivate 7.0.1 contains a rocking action that allows you to enable a Boolean variable (for example the system variable that displays or hides the table of contents), and shutdown.  Use this action.

  However, I know that's not possible. The button table of contents is generated only generated at run time and has not yet been exposed to the Skin Editor TOC UI. If like me you want to it see the ability to customize it in a future version of Captivate so please add your voice by presenting this as a feature request.

  I use RoboHelp 2015 and reactive production layout, I need to rearrange these tabs. I want the tab of filtering of dynamic content to be displayed before the table of contents.

  Is it possible to re - sequence tab filters before tab table of contents by making some backend work in CSS or code?

  

  Or the other way improved - if we select filters say - sales, then sales related subjects should be displayed (rather extended below - just like the expansion of text).

  It is possible through the HTML code. In Notepad, open the file "Topic.slp". On line 35, you will see a list of links:

• Manual large editions with sensitive html setting. Is there a way to determine how the entries appear in the table of contents?

  I publish major textbooks with sensitive html setting. Is there a way to determine how the entries appear in the table of contents? If I publish a small section of the manual then 2nd level entries appear as eruptions under the chapter name, but if I publish the manual in its entirety then level 2 headings are not at all. I would like them to appear as the eruptions in the table of contents, but I need to publish the manual as a whole in order to keep the cross references. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

  I think that this would make clearer - and it would skip and tables of contents of books under.

• Why the names of my chapters are not displayed in the table of contents?

  Hello. I use Indesign & DPS simple editing to make an application. In Indesign, I created several different documents that I used to make items that I put together in a Folio.  I saw it using the tool preview Adobe & on the iPad using Adobe Content Viewer. When I select the button table of contents I see thumbnail screenshots of the first page of each chapter, but no text chapter name.  For each of the documents that I used to make items that I named them after the chapter they represent, which is what I thought each chapter name defined.

  The strange thing is that before I did a couple of test folios and they do not have the name of chapter text. So what can I do to display the chapter name in the table of contents?

  Also, is there a way to change change the thumbnail used by the table of contents?

  The answer to both questions is in the Article Properties dialog box. Select the item in the Folio Builder Panel and choose Properties from the context menu. Specify the name of the chapter of "Title" - which is probably empty now. (There is a difference between an article name and a title of the article. The name is used for internal purposes, such as the binding, and the title appears in the application).

  At the bottom of this dialog box, you see a preview of the Table of contents. Click the folder icon and specify a PNG of 70 x 70 that you design.

  How context sensitive help working with the master - situation of the external help files?
  
  Here is my scenario:
  
  I have a master's degree. HLP, which connects to 5. External HLPs. I connected the. CNTs and index in the Master. I gave all the output files (6 sets of.) HLP, CNT. NEWSPAPERS and GID files) to the programmer and asked her to put them all in a single directory. Everything works well for the table of contents in the Master. HLP. In other words, these external link sections are listed in the table of contents and the content displayed is selected. However, when the application attempts to display the HCS to a subject in one of these related HLPs, the user receives the error 129 (the subject does not exist). But these CSH to a topic in the Master. HLP works very well.
  
  The programmer told me he puts the code in a registry for the CSH file look for the master. HLP only. And he cannot create multiple registry files or put multiple lines in this file of registry to search for multiple .HLPs.
  
  The application is developed in the form of Oracle and is hosted on a Windows XP machine as a Windows application. I use RH X 5. The project is a HR Word project.
  
  Is it possible to generate one. HLP to include everything? If so, how?

  I found a solution for my situation this morning.

  Just brought these subjects with the ID of the map and the map file to the Master.HLP. If I need to mod a few links to external links, exit works.

  Just need to get some sleep.

• Duplicate sections throughout the table of contents after generating the HTML5 multiscreen output

  Use: RoboHelp 10, version 10.0.0.287

  Steps to reproduce the problem:

  1. click on file > create > main layout (Multiscreen_HTML5)

  2 al ' Generate window click on [Save and Generate]

  3. wait

  4. click on [view results]

  5 results show swathes of the table of contents reproduced in other sections.  10 more times to repeat the generation before that the entire table of contents points are correct and I can publish.  This is not preventing me from doing the job, but it's certainly a time killer.

  Background: I inherited a working version.  I did not create it.  I have more knowledge of the HTML language, but I'm not a developer.  I didn't upgrade beyond RH10 option.  I have studied this many times, but have not been able to find a solution.  The only other thing I've seen sometimes are error messages related to the toctree.js file, but I still don't understand those.  Even when I have not, this past yet, but I have included this error just in case it may be related, although I suspect that it is a separate issue.  I don't currently have the line in the js file because this sample is old and I have not seen the question at least a month.

  Other Notes: I've seen a few posts on a similar question in the printed version, but, I do not have a printed version.  I don't know if that makes a difference, and do I know if anyone in the past that put in place or even where to go to watch.

• How to display a complete tree of the table of contents in the body of a page instead of the sidebar?

  How to display a full (project) TOC tree in the body of the pages of the section instead of the default sidebar (left pane)? Is there a simple way to do this in the application? I have not yet discovered a way to do it, but I can't get to the right place. Any suggestions?

  I don't think you can view the table of contents on a page, and even if you could, the sidebar would always be there for indexing and search. The only possibility I can think of is to create a page where you create links arranged to act as a TOC, then maybe iFrame this page in. Each book might be a drop-down list to view links to topics.

  Maintenance would be horrible and she barely meets your requirement to be simple.
