"Seems we cannot choose to" open as "a default value of Camera Raw?

Greetings

I have no problem with that if I, for example, you want to open a JPEG in Camera Raw, then I choose in the drop-down list box.  I learned this by

initially through several times, then completing the action with success.  Then the drop down box comes up with the option for the rest of the session.  The next time I

Open the items however by default is not believed but rather Photoshop PSD.

However, we teach other people in our sessions, the use of the elements and this makes it harder to do.  Although there are many possible permutations, the

most obvious is to open as Adobe Camera Raw.  If we want to open Photoshop PSD, then a simple 'Open' on a Photoshop PSD file will do the trick.

Is there something that I am missing?

Yes, it's a change of PSE12, where the "Open in ACR" option has been added in the main file menu (Windows). Instead of choosing "Open in" and by selecting the raw option in the drop-down menu, you have one click. But the ability to open multiple JPEG files at the same time is not mentioned in Adobe documents...

I thought about my workflow where I deal with half raw, half jpegs. Open each jpeg in ACR makes sense for several reasons:

-Better and faster global edits in 16 bits

-Parametric Assembly (non-destructive)

-Ability to apply the same changes to a batch of photos

-ACR default settings most often improve bad photo exhibition

-Once 'edition' in ACR, JPEG images will automatically open in ACR opening of the Organizer.

However, it is still not perfect and does not replace the absence of the option to open the cab to the Organizer himself. Even if it's a batch (as with the DNGconverter) operation, this is an extra step. And another problem is that in the PSE12 Organizer, you cannot update the thumbnail with the changes of the cab. So, I chose to systematically create a version that works very similar to the 100% Preview in LR. Working from the Organizer I know not if I edit from the original or that of the whole of the version.

Disable the graphics processor of the Camera preferences and restart the application.

    • Mac OS: Choose Edition > Preferences > Camera Raw.
    • Windows: Choose Photoshop > Preferences > Camera Raw.

Let us know if that helps.

  • opening of 32 bit TIFF in camera raw (or not...)

I followed tutorials on creating HDR images in photoshop using the 32-bit function.

Once I created the 32-bit image and saved as a Tiff file. Then, I'm going to bridge and made sure that the preferences of camera raw are defined to allow suppoprted TIFFs. But I can't open this image in camera raw, it just opens in photoshop...

In the turorials, I realized this doesn't seem to be one problem for others, why it will work for me?

    Sudarshan,

    Thanks for your reply.

I managed to fix this now. I recently downloaded photoshop and so assumed it was the more up-to-date version. However it was not the case, as I had camera raw 7.0 is installed. I have this update to the latest version and itself has this problem, I can now change the 32-bit TIFF in camera raw.

  • Photoshop opens TIFF 8 bit files in Camera Raw

My normal workflow consists of opening the RAW file in ACR, adjustments, then switch to Photoshop, where I apply alterations and build clipping paths. I then save the file as an 8-bit TIFF. I rarely have to reopen these TIFF 8-bit again, but when I did recently that I met was not what I expected.

My Photoshop (CS6) opens TIFF 8-bit like Camera Raw files when selected by 'right click' followed by 'open with Photoshop CS6. I remember being able to open files TIFF 8-bit directly in Photoshop, but I think that this change has taken place since the installation of CS6.

Again, the files in question began as a Raw 16-bit files, but have been worked in Photoshop CS6 (editing) and recorded with clipping paths. This would reduce the 8-bit files. When placed in the layout, the clipping paths properly, confirming that the roads are intact.

When I want to open the files again - say bridge or a Finder window - by the method 'right-click - Open with Photoshop CS6', the file opens first in Camera Raw, and then in Photoshop and paths is missing.

I can open these TIFF files and paths but only if I search for and select the file in Photoshop (file / open... /). The open window gives 'Format' like Camera Raw (which is not, having been recorded as 8 bit file). If I replace the "TIFF" format, the file opens with a shown clipping path.

What could be going on here and how I can fix?

    Thank you.

I set the preference to automatically open JPEG and TIFF files with parameters.

I don't remember having to do with CS5.

  • How can I open a layer in ACR (Adobe Camera Raw)?

When I open a jpg file, it opens in its own layer.  How to I get the dialog box camera raw with this layer, then return as a smart object?

    Stop the presses!  It's possible!

There is a Photoshop CS6 extension that does exactly this.

    Go here... http://www.russellbrown.com/scripts.html

Then scroll down a bit to find 'Edit layers in ACR.

I tried... It works very well!

I bought the book "the book of the 10 elements photoshop for digital photographers" and first want to learn how to retouch my photos jpeg (organized in iphoto) in camera raw, however after setting the PES 10 as my edit external it opens only JPEG images in an edit but not the camera one gross.

Is there a way to change this? I searched the net for a response but can not find

You open the version that you have saved on the desktop, then save there. Then, go to iphoto > file > import to library to return the photo in iphoto.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the whole photoshop CS5 and it's always the same... I am at lost and using my old CS4 bridge for now.

You must confirm that the Camera Raw plugin has been properly installed so that the two bridge _and_ Photoshop can access. For Mac only right place is to be installed is: the level of the root (not the user library) library. To the inside of the eye to Library Application Support / Adobe/Plug-ins / CS5 / File Formats / camera Raw.plugin

If plug in Camera Raw isn't here or one of these folders are not there then Camera Raw is not correctly installed... If Camera Raw is correctly installed, then you may need to do several things... first of all, in the folder that you want to see raw images, and ride under Tools / Cache / purge the Cache for the file. If this does not work, you may have to trash your preferences in Bridge CS5. To do this, hold down the command / Option / Shift key while double-clicking the bridge app icon and choosing preferences reset...

If Camera Raw was not properly installed, sorry, you can not help... you may have to contact Customer Service for technical support installation.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 - unable to open multiple files at once from bridge or Camera Raw

Somewhere along the line of the last few months I can no longer open several files in bridge or Camera Raw.  A single file opens fine, but I can't load files into different layers, or perform a photomerge of bridge.  I've tried dumping the preferences file, but it made no difference.

Problem seems to have started when I undid an installation of Photoshop CC 2015 (too many crashes) and tried to replace Photoshop CC 2014.  The 2014 version seems to work in all respects, except the impossibility to open several files.

This continued through a few updates.

No idea what to try next?

    Hi ajphotoman - we,.

    Have you tried the following?

Select multiple images in Bridge and go to the menu Tools > Photoshop > load files into Photoshop layers.

    OR

Open Photoshop and go to the menu file > Scripts > load files into a pile

Will be Adobe Camera Raw DNG Converter 7.4 or the work version 8.7.1 on premium design CS5.5 Adobe on a MAC OSX Version 10.7.5 Lion, I recently acquired a new X100S of Fuji camera that is listed on 7.4 Mac download, I can't open the files Raw of RAF of the camera in photoshop CS 5.5 or will I have to spend to CS6 and it will work then?  Thank you very much, Paul

I'm afraid that the answer is the same as your other request. It is not a question of the difference between Photoshop CS 5.5 and the Design Premium version. This is the version number. And Photoshop CS Design Premium 5.5 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to 6.7. The DNG Converter is always your best choice if you're not ready to upgrade your Photoshop.

But then I realize I have not read your question closely. The DNG Converter does not work with any program. It is a separate stand-alone program which is used only to create copies of your DNG (digital negative) raw images. You can use the DNG Converter as your software download, conversion of images as they are transferred to your computer. Then, you will be able to open them with older versions of Camera Raw that are compatible with your version of Photoshop. Some people fear that the DNG Converter means a step further. But if you use it in your download software, I think you will find that it can streamline things considerably.

When you configure the DNG Converter, make sure that a compatibility option that is compatible with your version of Camera Raw. Also, take note that the DNG Converter will prompt you for a FILE containing raw images. Choose the folder, but do not open it.

  • opening camera raw

I just bought PScs5. The manual is on order! I imported the images as the "versions" of Aperture 3 in psd format that open into PS, but not in camera raw. Is it possible to open these images in camera raw? If I export of A3 as a 'master', I can through a complicated system and raise the image in camera raw. After editing it CR I hit the button 'open image' that puts the image in PS I can't find a simple way to find the CR image. switching on bridge and opening under file > recent will do. But this seems rather laborious. Help would be very appreciated.

    See you soon,.

OK... as expected. A raw file will always call Camera Raw. But if opening sends a tiff or psd for Photoshop directly, it will not open in Camera Raw to Aperture. You must save the tiff on the hard drive, THEN open in Camera Raw... but the downside is so he is therefore more a raw file, but a rendered file. While he opened a TIFF in Camera Raw is easy to do with the right preferences in ACR, PSD will be open in Camera Raw directly. You need an Open as, and select Camera Raw.

Is there a simple way to get an image open in ch to ACR?

No.... a tiff or psd must be saved to disk and then opened.

Switching back between the PS and ACR seems such a basic need, that makes me think has something I have done or not done in the initial download and installation.

What you seem to be trying to do is really complicated... If you want to use Aperture for raw processing, then you should do it. But try to deal with in Aperture and then try to use Camera Raw are not a workflow which is convenient. Once the image open in Photoshop the intention is to do Imaging here, not back in Camera Raw... not for nothing, a more convenient workflow would be to use Aperture for your management but take the naves in Camera Raw to the changes. Courses, then you will need to add the image made to the opening. Personally, I use Photoshop and Lightroom (which the Camera Raw processing pipeline built in) for imaging and retouching. Rendering files then ends up back in Lightroom automatically (if you set it up like that).
