Select a specific empty data type variable in a view

Hello

I'm creating a view

SELECT id, seq, null createdate-> need for it to be of data type, null-> need qty is data from table1 number type

-where table1 has only id & seq and I don't want to create these new 2 fields in the table

is there a way?

pls advise

SELECT id, seq, null createdate--> need is the data type, no Qty

select id , seq , cast(null as date) createdate, cast(null as number) qty ...

    Hello

    I created the interface that loads data from flat file (source) oracle (target).

    For this, I took LKM SQL FOR SQL and SQL TO ADD FILE IKM.

    Please check the source and target data types.

    To resolve this error, I changed the types of flat file data.

    I went to the Manager of topology-> select technology of files-> data types: string - > orcle to the number data type.

    Even if I do not correct this error. Please help me.

    Hello

    Can you please check what are the data types for the columns in your data target store. As you say it's a file, can you check if the data type for the two columns has the String value (and not varchar).

    No - it isn't. Your type of object is a SCALAR - not a collection. You need create a view on a table or a collection that is treated as a table.

    DDL perspective you posted doesn't even mention your FEATURE_CUSTOM_LIST_OBJ.

  • How can I dynamically select the shared Variable API programming data type?

    I am trying to create a configuration of open connections of variable shared using the programming API. It seems to me that the cleanest way to do would be to put one "open and check" routine in a loop, then call it for each variable in the library.

    The question that I am running is that I have different types of data in my library (to help a server Modbus i/o and data types 'boolean' and 'single' in my library.) How can I dynamically select the data type of the shared variable API?

    See the attached snipit.

    Thank you

    What I ended up doing was doing a Subvi to open, read, write, and close each data type, I use the packaged in 4 polymorphic SubVIs (polymorphic Open, read, etc...)

    Now all I have to do I drop in the polymorphic Subvi and it switches automatically to the appropriate data type

  • Causing problems of custom data type to deploy the shared target RT variable

    I seem to have some difficulty in using a shared variable published network created from a customized data type when it is deployed as an executable on a target of cRIO RT.  I'll start by describing why I think that this is the rub.  I created my RT VI in the LabVIEW (LV 2012) development environment and everything works fine.  This VI is quite simple, because these were quickly devolved into an exercise in debugging.  The RT VI begins by simply flashing the LED to a couple of times and then starts a loop simple acquisition to read some values out of the material using the analytical engine (while still flashing the LED of the user).  After reading the material, the values are grouped in a cluster and written in a shared variable published to the network defined by a custom control type def.  The custom control contains five floats double precision.  If it's important, the RT cRIO system hosts the shared variable in this case.

    So I have that deploy in the development environment, and everything works fine.  The LED flashes merrily along, telling me that the program runs correctly.  Running a VI host who reads the shared network has published variable gives the desired result.  Everything is good.

    Now, I want the cRIO system to run this simple program by itself at startup.  I build, set it as start VI, deploy it, and then restart the cRIO target.  The LED never flashing... the VI doesn't seem to work.  I'll spare you the major part of the work of debugging and access to the end.  I basically "diagram Disabled" various sections of the code up to the VI began to run correctly in an executable file.  I kept reducing the size of the disabled code until something has been disabled: the writing in the shared variable for the custom data type.

    So, I guess my question is this: are custom data types defined by type def would be personalized orders authorized executables to RT?  I read through the cRIO Developers Guide, my book of development in real time course of NOR and the white paper using shared Variables and I see nothing that forbids it.  I know that there are things not allowed in the executable files that are allowed in the development environment (property nodes façade, dialogue live, operating system specific calls, etc.), but no mention of the shared variable type custom data.  Any ideas as to why my VI is running in the development environment, but does not update unless I have delete the entry on the published network variable shared?

    Thank you in advance for your help!

    You must disconnect the data types of variables and then recompile. You can find it useful to keep on disk, a copy of the original lvlib.

    Don't know if this is a bug or not. It was suggested by someone in the forum that putting the ctl files in the right position (the disk? in the draft?) would allow the rtexe start; I did a quick check and it didn't work then I dropped the tests more far.

  • "Not a valid error code" when you create a shared variable of data type custom

    I am trying to create a shared variable with a data type of a 2d double table. I created a custom control that contains a table with a numeric type for this 2d. Manager of distributed system v12 I select 'add a variable', then select 'of the custom control. Once select my control I get the following error: "invalid data type. You want to choose a different data type. Any advice as to why it doesn't work? Thank you.

    This seems to be recorded in the CAR #405941.  All this is a bit strange, but I'll try better possible workaround solutions I can.  I tested a large number of these myself, and here is what I found.

    1. make sure that the custom control you did was created in 2012 of LabVIEW or you save it in an earlier version.  If you save on an earlier version, you may also open the .ctl in LabVIEW 2012 and resave it (I needed to do).  I tried to create my own control in 2012, as well as save the control to a previous version, the two worked, but I don't end up with the same result (I don't understand this, but I wanted to mention it so that you know).

    2. it seems that you are able to make the variable shared by program by modifying the example of the community to adapt to your needs.  If you do not need to create many variables it may be the best option if it works for you.

    I would also try adding the variable of the LabVIEW project, you are working on that.  It wasn't a direct troubleshooting step but there are several ways of doing things in LabVIEW and, sometimes, one of them is working while the other does not.

    Edit: Example of community is here https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-16863

    You can do this via a registry change, but it is more appropriate for a typical user to simply use the system restore:

    System restore

    Ever wished that you can go back in time following a bad fall? With Windows, you can.

    Installation sometimes a driver or a program can make Windows run slowly or erratically. System Restore can return programs and system files from your PC to a time where everything worked, potentially prevent hours of troubleshooting of headaches. This will not affect your documents, images or other data.

    In Windows 7, you can create system restore points more and see exactly what files will be deleted or added when your PC is restored. For more information, see create a restore point.

    For more protection, use the restore system backup and restore, which is designed to help save email, photos, documents and other personal files.

    To use the system restore

    Before you start the system restore, save open files and close all programs. System Restore will restart your PC.

    1. Open system restore by clicking the start . In the search box, type restore the system and then, in the list of results, click on system restore.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. Follow the steps in the wizard to select a restore point and restore your computer.

      For more information, see System Restore: frequently asked questions.

    In Windows 7 system restore can prevent headaches hours after an accident.

  • Data selection in UDB where columns were named after the oracle data types

    I have a couple of tables in UDB, I'm trying to reference on a HS db link.

    The first table on the side of the UDB has a column named 'number' (bought the software - not something we did)...

    Selecting this SEO column in this table and more specifically (i.e. Select number, col2, col3 etc) causes the error ORA-00936 (missing expression).

    Select * works...

    The second table also has a column called 'number', so the same problem above applies.  [However, sql errors when I do a select * from ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [HO set: look long], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], []]

    Our dba lean on it, - Oracle HS is new to us, so - I was hoping someone here might have an idea...

    Using oracle 11.2.0.3.0.

    When your DB2 database has column with reserved words in Oracle names, you must create a view of your DB2 side by specifying a different name for this column, and then use DG4ODBC to choose from the scoreboard instead of DB2.

    Another approach which would require an additional programming is to use the DBMS_HS_PASSTHROUGH that allows to make statements that they are to the DB2 database without be analyzed in Oracle.

    As for the ORA-600 error that you get this error is caused when your DB2 table contains certain character inspired columns that exceed the accuracy of the Oracle and are then mapped to the Oracle long data types. Normally in Oracle each table can have a long column. But to be able to select with the gateways of databases foreign this restriction has been slightly improved and more recent Oracle software can choose from the tables that contain more then a long.

    So, could you please be more specific what program you use to select using the gateway fails with ORA-600 and could you please post your description of the table as it is stored in your DB2 database as seen using the gateway in SQL * more: desc (your DB2 table > @)

  • incompatible data types: expected - got CHAR, variable connection see detail

    Hello.
    Here's my problem:
    I have connected with a link master detail views. Variable binding that contain both have some session information views:
    It is a menu on the database and I'm trying to hide certain values based on the permissions of the user.
    When you run the application module, everything works fine. The problem occurs when I try to display the menu as a picture of the tree, or any other table, on a page.
    The root view runs correctly, but then I get a
    "java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00932: inconsistent data types: expected - got TANK.
    error in the method executeQueryForCollection of the detail view. (this method is overridden)

    Bind Variables are:
    -: menuRoot-> that contains the value of the root node. (In the Details view, it is just a dummy variable. It is explained later why I used it.)
    -: listOfUserPermmission-> permissions of the user table.

    My query looks like this:

    1 Master View:
    SELECT MetVMenu.CHILD_ID,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_IME_MODULA,
           MetVMenu.PARENT_ID,
           MetVMenu.PARENT_IME_MODULA,
           MetVMenu.ZST,
           MetVMenu.NIVO,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_NAZIV_V_MENIJU,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_TIP_MODULA,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_OPIS_MODULA
    FROM MET_V_MENU MetVMenu
    WHERE MetVMenu.PARENT_IME_MODULA like :menuRoot
    and MetVMenu.CHILD_IME_MODULA in (SELECT * FROM TABLE(CAST(:listOfUserPermission AS STRARRAY)))
    CHILD_IME_MODULA and PARENT_IME_MODULA are also names of permissions.

    2. see link that connects the master. CHILD_ID and detail PARENT_ID

    3 detail view, then linking to itself... to get the tree menu.
    SELECT MetVMenu.CHILD_ID,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_IME_MODULA,
           MetVMenu.PARENT_ID,
           MetVMenu.PARENT_IME_MODULA,
           MetVMenu.ZST,
           MetVMenu.NIVO,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_NAZIV_V_MENIJU,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_TIP_MODULA,
           MetVMenu.CHILD_OPIS_MODULA
    FROM MET_V_MENU MetVMenu
    WHERE :menuRoot like 'a'
    and
    MetVMenu.CHILD_IME_MODULA in (SELECT * FROM TABLE(CAST(:listOfUserPermission AS STRARRAY)))
    4 ViewLink, which connects CHILD_ID and PARENT_ID from this point of view 'detail '.

    Two views executeQuery methods are overridden to define Bind variables before execution.
    I get an arrayList of strings (permissions) of session and then convert it to a table.

    ArrayList permmissionsArray = (ArrayList)MyUserSession.getSessionValue("permissions");
         Array permissions = new Array(permissionsArray.toArray());
            HashMap context = new HashMap();
            context.put(DomainContext.ELEMENT_SQL_NAME, "STRARRAY");
            context.put(DomainContext.ELEMENT_TYPE, String.class);

            if(permissions != null){
                permissions.setContext(null, null, context);
                setlistOfUserPermission(permissions);
            }
         //Here I set menuRoot variable.

    I also noticed that there are problems with how define bind variables (issues).
    So when I did use the variable menuRoot in Details view I had the
    ' incompatible data types: expected - got TANK.
    error in the module of the application.

    prepareRowSetForQuery() has solved the problem for me. The binding variable is null and that was the reason for the error incompatible data type.
    Regarding the error of the tree-> it was a mistake in the definition of the cardinality.

    Of course, we can do that.
    Your substring should not be bulk init, it suppose to be where you reference variable rep.
    In the command prompt to set the default values use the query sql, something like

    SELECT time. ' ' Month ' where 'HIS' Time. "Year"= Substring (VALUEOF ("PREVIOUS_MONTH") FROM 1 to 4)

    If brand can help pls ;)

  • The wrong data type on bind variable

    We are testing framework entity with ODP.NET and linq to entities and have a little problem.

    We run a simple linq to entities statement with a variable binding and our problem is that the column in the oracle database is the CHAR type framework but entity sends the binding as NVARCHAR2 variable. This causes the oracle do not use the index on the column and a full table scan is performed.

    Entities are generated from the database.

    LINQ:
    public string Name (string value)
    {
    var object = (from s in ctx3. TABLE
    where s.COLUMN1 is value
    Select s.COLUMN2). ToList();
    Returns the object [0]. ToString();
    }

    Is there a way to set the data type for a variable binding when you use linq?

    Published by: 872217 on March 13, 2012 04:42

    Because the .NET string is in Unicode, by default, NVARCHAR2 is used in the binding of parameter to string variables.

    EntityFunctions.AsNonUnicode (of use) should be able to say ODP.NET you want to treat a non-Unicode string.
    In this case, VARCHAR2 should be used for the link.
    I hope this will save for you table scan when there is no conversion data more.

    using System.Data.Objects;

    public string Name (string value)
    {
    var object = (from s in ctx3. TABLE
    where s.COLUMN1 is EntityFunctions.AsNonUnicode (value)
    Select s.COLUMN2). ToList();
    Returns the object [0]. ToString();
    }

    Please let me know if it works for you.

  • Gets the data type variant for the selection of cases

    I don't ' know much about alternative, so I'll ask as many questions as possible on this subject.  If I have a table of varying, and each of these variations has been converted to a different data type.  This table will be the clue to a for loop and each item will be handled in a case inside the loop structure for.

    The issue is that I would like to take the variant data type, convert enum and use it to select the box on the structure of the case.  How do I do that?  Or what is the best way to do it?

  • Modification of the data types of the custom shared variables

    My application includes a library containing a number of shared single process variables. I use type defs to create the shared variable "of the custom control." I know that shared variables do not-automatic update since the type defs, so I'm updating shared variables (data type, do a right click, properties) whenever I update the type definitions.  However, if I make a change to a type design that does not change the data type, for example to change the labels controls, these changes will be reflected in the shared variable.  The data types of variable window shared list contains entries for each previous update, which indicates he uses the previous entries.  How can I make the window of properties of shared variables 'forget' my previous defs type wandering without deleting the variable total? Withdrawal and replacement would be troublesome because the done variable references throughout my project.

    Thank you

    Wes

    The variable is not in the Distributed System Manager, or Manager of the Variable, and cancellation of the deployment has not been resolved.  However, I found Labview from closing completely and reboot clears the memory of the previously used custom data types that sees the library.  Thus, the effective workaround I found is:

    1 make a significant change to the data type of the type (per your suggestion) FED. Record.

    2 - redefine the variable screw-notice type FED.

    3. save the project. Close and restart labview.

    4 - the old def type is now disabled.

    5. return the significant change of the def type, implement trivial change and save.

    6 redefine the variable using the type correct now def. Viola!

    Thank you!
