Select the tool parameters?

Is it possible to change the settings of the selection tool? In previous versions, the tool select would choose only the box that held an image, not the image itself, for that you have used the direct Selection tool. For some reason any Version 5 also the regular selection tool selects the image if click you on it directly. It drives me crazy when I go to move something and then just drag the image beyond the clipping region. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You get a "donut" to come?  This is called the grabber of content and can be disabled by going to > Extras > disable content Grabber.  If you do not get that and select the content with a simple clik something is wrong, but I strongly suspect the doughnut...

PS InDesign CS5 is actually Version 7, Version 5 in CS3...

  • How to set the slider tool to select the tool when opening acrobat XI 11.0

I need the tool to default to the Selection tool and NOT the hand tool slider when you open Acrobat XI 11.0

    Hi mkwillden,

Once you select the "Select" tool any subsequent launches of the software should keep the 'selection' as default tool.

If this isn't the case, you can specify the parameter registry here:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\11.0\Selection

Change the data of aDefaultSelect to Select or by hand as requires it.

What is the most optimal project settings that I use when I start the new project?  Something in the AVCHD category?  (With the help of NTSC).

(Sorry... This is a repost... I accidentally sent in the PS forum at the beginning).

With the Audio and still Images ONLY, you can go with 1920 x 1080, full HD at 30 fps (NTSC) or 25 FPS (PAL), depending on where you live.

For images, I'd like to see this ARTICLE. Note: it was written when SD was the norm, but as HD took over, sizes have been faced to understand this, as well.

Images of PowerPoint may be problematic, but recent versions of the program can export slides as TIFF Images. I would like to keep as much of the material as possible in PSD native Photoshop, PNG or TIFF. Unless you start with formats JPEG, I would not save Images in JPEG, to keep this stage of compression on the mixture. Many have found with PowerPoint slides, they are better off starting from scratch and those in Photoshop or Illustrator maybe build. If you go with Illustrator or similar vector Art program, I would import into Photoshop and not the pixelation, rather than import the Images of AI in pre and use it for the pixelation.

If you have any music (the narration must be PCM/WAV at first), I have that converting to PCM/WAV, if IE MP3.

  • Take the tool does not. Take the tool selected - can see the hand but will not take anything

    Hello

I'm new to photoshop and I am currently working through the tutorials on Lynda.com to learn as much as I can, but I'm stuck at the minute. Tutorials wants me to use the Snipping Tool to move an image and no matter what I do nothings moving. I selected the tool and see that it is selected and that the needle moves on the image but it is not striking, no selection.

I also did with the letter to select the capture tool. Once again, this works, but will not take anything.

Any entry in this problem would be highly appreciated. Thank you

    Hi Clara-beautiful,

Hand tool is running when your image is enlarged and that you want to move to a specific part of the image.

You must move your image with the mouse after a zoom once you have selected the hand tool.

Are you a person following the same steps in workflow or other?

  • How to use just 1 click away with the move (v command) tool to select the layer in the Group?

    I'm on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 Photoshop CS3 10.0.

Is it possible to click only once with "V command" to select a layer in a group?

I used to be able to do and on my laptop I can do now (same OS and Photoshop), but the mac that I use for my design work won't... I must also, right-click and select the layer highlighted. I have a document a lot of multilayer Photoshop with many groups, and it is an extra step of your time.

Is there a preference I can turn on? Or some other simple typo?

    Thank you very much!

Select the tool move and set the options of the control bar. By default, it took to select a group, simply change layer.

  • What is the tool that means?

Hi, I'm studying Photoshop by reading the book "Adobe Photoshop CC Classroom in a Book (2015 version)". At the end of Chapter 2, I encountered a problem in the following passage:

On the red line, the book says "select the tool in the upper left corner of the adjustments Panel", but I can't find anything in the upper left corner of the adjustments Panel. What is this tool the book means, and where is he? Thank you very much.

I think that it's a typo. Look in the properties panel when you use the black and white adjustment tool. You will see an icon in the upper left corner. It looks like a hand that suggests the sliding.

When you click this icon, you can choose a region and drag left or right to increase or decrease the brightness of which allows to be this color.

  • Do when the toolbar is disabled - none of the tools be used?

What should I do when the toolbar is disabled?  I am not able to use the tools - all I get is a circle with a line through it once I have selected the tool I want and then place the cursor on my image.

    Thank you!

Smart object layers are not directly editable. You can't paint, for example directly on the smart object layer. The solution is to double-click the thumb of SO to change its content or to paint on a new empty layer preceding. Other tools like the Healing Brush tool have option: all the layers and current and below in the Options bar , which allows you to work with them on a separate layer (top layer) and use layer SO data (for the pixels in the sample).

  • How do you get all the tools out of sight guided PSE14 tab?

The new view on the tab tour can be modified to be able to see the picture that must be changed with one of the other two tabs going first?  View default tour tab is filled with what seems like a tutorial page. The tab page view guided much is a source of distraction and slows down the work.  Yes, som of the guided tools are more efficient to use than the Expert tool selections, so I end up with about the same amount of time.  Now, it is very heavy.

I'm not a psychic. I generally would like to see the image that I will edit the first and then select the tool to use.  The new view on the 'Guided' tab shows all the tools that you can use to change the photo.  But the picture is not displayed.  I'm not good to choose the tool first, before I see the picture.  I'm not inclined to look at the photo on the Quick tab, or on the Expert tab first and then go to the guided tab and choose a tool.

    Thank you

Thinking that the first view of the new "guided" interface is simply a menu, not a Workspaceedition. Each photo is a menu item. You must choose your option before accessing your editing space. It is the now universal way of selection in tablets and smartphones, you may not like it (I didn't) but that won't slow down your workflow.

    Hi alexisu,

    Greetings!

    Try resetting all the tools

To reset a tool, you must first have the selected tool. Then Ctrl-click (Windows users: right click) the button tool preset in the Tool Options bar.

When you click this button, you will see a small menu and you can select Tool Reset to reset the current tool to its default value or reset all tools to deliver all the tools to its default value. Once selected, the tool will act as the first time you have used it.

Using this simple method to reset your tool with a single click, you can quickly remedy any situation where the tool does not correctly and to maintain the flow of creativity going.

  • 101: explanation of the tools in the Panel?

I'm going through the tutorials but seem to Miss where I can find an explanation of the tool panels and their functions. The tutorials do not necessarily explain it (sometimes they do).

    Hello

Very well! So let's start with gold playhead in the timeline panel. This is different from the PIN tool, because that's literally what you can use to define where you want keyframes to be manually in your timeline. You can also use this to navigate backwards in the timeline by clicking on the read head gold and drag through the timeline. This is also known as rub. The best way to think of the read head is to be considered as a "bookmark" in your timeline.

The Pin tool is a great little tool that is unique on board animate. Significantly, it improves your productivity while animating and eliminates the need from keyframe to the hand.

With the selected PIN tool, you will notice a blue pin in your timeline. You can click and drag this PIN back and forth to set a literal "PIN" in your timeline. When you do so, you will notice that your head stays in place. It is because what makes the tool of corner is literally "remembers" where your head is and then act as a second head for you so that you can keyframe with ease.

Thus, for example, if you have a rectangle with an opacity of 100% at 0 seconds. If you click on the tool spindle and slide forward in the timeline to 1 second and then change the opacity to 0%, the Pin will be keyframe for you opacity to 0 seconds and 1 second, which makes the task of animating this transition easier. The rectangle fade from 0% to 100% opacity over a second.

Another point to remember about the PIN tool, it's you will notice little rafters in the blue bar that extends from the time you dragged your corner tool. The rafters help explain where your animation is transient. They stress also everywhere where is your head. You can move the playback cursor in front of the PIN tool to have your key frame be the change of departure.

As with our example before, if you have your rectangle to 100% opacity and you have selected the tool pin so you move the playback cursor forward. You can change the opacity to 0% and the rectangle now fade from 100% to 0% more than one second.

I'll explain the image auto key and automatic transition in a second post tools. I hope this helps explain the tool spindle and the read head better!
