    Hello @zoboomafoo,

Thank you for all the information!

What have been the results of physical tests?  If all the past, then it seems that you encounter problems with the operating system.  If the problem is actually related to the operating system, then by reinstalling Windows will help you solve it.  This should help to address issues with malware.  Upgrade to Windows 10 is an option, however, you don't have full support of drivers.  I hope this helps.

  • Satellite M50D-A-10W - error "reboot and select proper boot device."

I have a Toshiba Satellite M50D-A-10W passing me all nuts "reboot and select proper boot device."

This has happened before and it was solved by ctr-alt-del and F12 to get into the BIOS where the date went back to some time in 2010 - after put so far and to change the boot device, everything worked fine... until the next day.

Now I get the screen "reboot and select good boot device ', but the F12 key does not; I also tried F2... the message keep multiplying, no BIOS...
    Help, please!

In some cases the BIOS is only accessible by pressing the button turn off force on the lower side of the unit.

After that you were able to start the windows system, its highly recommended to update the BIOS as BIOS update would solve this annoying problem.

  • Reboot and select good Boot Device problem - my PC does not start!

    Hi all

Whenever I turn on my computer I get the message "Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press a key.

I checked the diagonistics material and these are the results:

    Test CPU-

Hard drive: failure of the connection Test - Error Code: BIOHD1

    Memory - past

I don't think that the issue is a faulty connection. My reason to believe so because I think that I had a virus on my computer (I was not able to confirm) I tried to delete the last time I was able to use the computer. Then I turned off the computer to restart, but unfortunately, that's when I got this error message.

I had this problem once before (about 3 years ago) and I was not able to solve this problem, so I just stopped using the PC. Then one day my Dad turned on the computer (a few months later) and it worked all of a sudden.

Anyone know what this problem is? How can I solve this problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you very much for your time and effort!

    Additional information:

It was originally a windows 7 PC, but I have upgraded to windows 10, which is the current operating system.

    Product: HP p6620f

I managed to start my PC again.

I have unplugged all connections and left it that way for about 24 hours. Then I plugged everything back in and all of a sudden the PC worked again. I don't know if it will last, but right now it works.

I'll write another post if something changes.

Sorry about that. Using pages have been updated for the new 'add a device' addresses in Firefox 4, but the add-on for Firefox 3.6 is still using an older, different process.

You can download Firefox 4 release candidate here and use the new "easy installation" process described in the help pages: http://firefox.com/rc

Or if you prefer to stay with Firefox 3.6, so instead of clicking 'Add a device' on your computer, press the 'Connect' button on your phone or other device, and then click "I'm not near my computer...". "and enter your email address and password sync key. Hi all

I have now repeatedly received the error message "Reboot and select proper boot device."

I tried the F12 approach to , but my Start Menu does not have this option.

I'm frustrated that the new laptop played if bad, given that I have had Toshiba devices for about 10 years.
In addition, I am disappointed that potentially serious consequences to remove the drive were clearly deprecated for me, before you start.

    Please give us a solution.
The laptop is 4 months old.

I seem to have accidentally deleted the data on the disk.

Obviously the HARD drive recovery procedure is not possible now because the HARD drive recovery files have been deleted.

I guess you have not created such recovery media as recommended in the user's manual.

Well, in this case, you have a chance to order a missing middle of recovery and recover the laptop to factory condition.

Means of recovery can be ordered here:

  • Satellite C660: message: reboots and select good boot device

    Hello

I dropped the laptop today literally a few inches from the ground, it slipped from my hand as I was placing it on the ground. He fell flat.

Now I see the message "reboot and select proper boot device."

I tried a few different options that I read, and I see the HARD drive in the BIOS F2 thing or whatever it is called. If it is recognized, but I can't seem to move in the message. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

PS I will need clear instructions, I'm not stupid, but I need to explain. I don't understand some of the pieces.

    Thank you

    Hello

I think that your HARD drive is bad.
I think that you have not checked it correctly in the BIOS.

Please go to BIOS once more, by pressing F2.
Now on the first page, you will see date, time, details of CD/DVD drive and you should also see the details of the disk (size, name)
    You see that?

Otherwise, the HARD disk is not initialized by the BIOS and this means that, because of the fall, the HARD disk has been damaged.

  • Satellite C660-IHK - 'Reboot & Select good Boot device'

First of all, thanks for any help. I don't know anything about the inner workings of computers, so things, please explain to me how you would do for a baby! Here's the problem: my Satellite C660-IHK is one month. I have not much used, nor had any problem with it. Until last night. I turned it on, the logo appeared as usual, and then it went to a screen that tells me to "Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press a key. I have no idea what that means or what I should do now.

On another chance, I pressed 'Set Up', which was located at the bottom of the screen when the logo first appeared. I went to 'Boot '. Here is the info:

    HDD/SSD
    USB
    WEIRD MATHITADVD-RAM UJ8BO
    FLOPPY DRIVE
    LAN Realtex PXE

On this page, I am also told "choose the priority of the computer starts". Again, I don't know what it should be. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

You see this message every time when you start your laptop?

    It's a little strange.
Start your laptop and press F2 to enter the BIOS settings. Use F9 and set it to check and default settings, if the problem persists or not.

If Yes, restart your laptop and press F12 to get into the boot menu. Check if the HARD drive is listed there. If Yes, select it and press ENTER. Windows starts correctly?

  • Different value of USB DAQ device on different computers?

    Hello

I have not found an answer to this one, so I open a new question. Here's the problem:

I have a card OR USB 6003 and I read some analog signal of a sensor with a framerate of 1000 Hz (I use actually 4 analog inputs for 4 sensors). I created a VI and everything works fine on my computer. Then, I created a standalone application (.exe) and the installer that includes the drivers for the hardware DAQ and LabView Runtime Environment. When I install everything on computer target, the program works, but the sensor readings are weird! For example: I get a reading of 1 bar with a deviation of 0.02 bar on my original computer. When I plug the device on the host computer, I get an average reading of 1 bar with a gap of 0.5 bar, which is a lot! This gap could be considered some disturbances high frequency - like noise. What could be the problem? Is this even linked with LabView or is it hardware problem?

    OS information:

    Win 7, 64-bit (my computer)

    Win 7 32-bit (host)

    News of LabView:

    LabVIew 2013, version 13.0f2 (32 bit)

    OR MAX version 14.0.0f0

    Setup includes:

NI LabView Run - Time Engine 2013 f2

    NOR-DAQmx run 14.0

Thanks in advance on this one!

    Best regards

    Geraldine

If you run the Test NI MAX Panel on each computer, you get the same result? Way that you specify which device to use in your code (for example MAX tasks? Project tasks? DAQmx configuration screw?) and the devices have the same configuration? Are you using the exact same device USB 6003 or use a different one on each PC?

A computer is a desktop computer and another laptop? Economic DAQ devices are not isolated, so you could get the sound of your PC power.

My computer has just stopped working and when I turned it on, it says I should change my hard drive. I did, but now the message is whenever I turn on my computer: reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.

The 'Ticking' noise is indicative of an HD program.  You can made a brick out of it.  The Message on the selection of the appropriate boot device indicates the tilt of the computer 'See' the HD.

You see the HD in the BIOS when you start?

  • PC freeze/crash followed a "Reboot and select proper boot device."

We have 11 PC running on a local area network, all currently running Windows 7 Professional. The following happened in recent weeks, on 4 of our PC 11:

PC freezes completely, however, the mouse cursor will always pass normally, clicking on anything don't generate a result, or will be by pressing CTRL + ALT + DELETE. My first step in the fight against that had to leave the PC alone for 5-10 minutes to see if the problem resolved itself. After about 5 minutes, the PC will be closed on its own and try to reset, prompting the message:

"Reboot and select good boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press a key.

When you press a key, the message again and again. The only solution I've found that this was a closed hard, leaving it for a minute and restarting, how everything seems fine.

I'm suspicious that this may happen again, or on the PC so far unaffected, if someone could advise on what could be the cause, or how to stop from happening, I would be grateful.

How old are the hard drives on those computers?  Is it possible that they have lack of hard drives?

Download and run the software tester of the drive by the hard drive manufacturer to test the equipment.  Tell us the model numbers (Device Manager), readers and we'll give you links to get the correct software.

  • Reboot and select proper boot device (build new PCs)

So I have been building a new computer and have finally put it all together, I wanted to check and make sure everything was working and recognised (NOTE: no OS is installed). While starting the computer everything seemed ok, until I got to the restart of the screen and select proper boot device, I checked in the bios to make sure, he was placed under the 1st priority boot device and indeed it was, what I am wanting to know is, is it normal that this message on a new hard drive with no OS installed? Everything is plugged in correctly and tight

What I am wanting to know is, is it normal that this message on a new hard drive with no OS installed?

It depends on what was on the hard drive before and how he got to the format.

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft community. I will certainly help you with the problem you are experiencing. I would like to ask you:

    • What is the brand and model of your computer?

To diagnose this problem more, I recommend you to check and make all the cables are properly connected to the devices in the computer. For help with the same, you can either check the manual of the material that you may have received with your computer or you can contact a hardware technician to do the same.

Once we are sure that the connection is good, we can diagnose more if the problem is with the software/operating system or if it is a hardware failure.
