• Direct Selection tools issues

  My selection tool does not work properly. I can select an object and resize it, but I can't move it. I have reset the preferences and even reinstalled InDesign, without success. The objects are not locked and they are not on master pages. If I use the direct Selection tool and select all the external points of the object, I can move it, but this is obviously not an ideal job around! This problem occurs with the new AND old files. I'm working on a big project, so I HAVE to get this figured out ASAP. Help, please!

• Quick Selection tool issues

  Fairly new to PS so this can be a user error!

  When you use the Quick Selection in CC tool it seems to do a good job to select the area I want, but then just deselect the selection completely blocks randomly.  When I select again to add to the overall selection, it seems to deselect the different parts of the image and makes the selection all very dirty and uneven (see image below where I tried to select the black at bottom left area) - someone else has experienced this problem?

• Issue using the Magic Wand selection tool in Photoshop CS6

  I m following a tutorial to learn the basics of photoshop and I m stuck on the magic wand tool, while doing a very simple task. I'm trying to select the white background of the image and then pressing on delete to remove it and make duck yellow transparent image.

  But when I press the button remove key a window opens and the eyedropper tool is selected. And when I press DELETE, while the background is filled with the yellow color of the duck. Please look at the picture and let me know how I can fix this.

  This happens because you are working on the background layer which is special in Photoshop. What you need to do, is make a regular layer by double clicking with the ALT key or double clicking and pressing ok. Incidentally that's going to happen with any selection tool not only the magic wand. Hope that helps

  So I worked on a project in illustrator and all of a sudden, I couldn't use the selection tool to rotate and manipulate objects more. The arrows appear even to do this kind of action. Is it possible that I accidentally turned off the tool? If so, how do I turn it back on so I can work with him as it was before?

  May have you used Cmd (Ctrl)-h, which is the toggle to show/hide the edges or Cmd (Ctrl) - SHIFT - B, which is the toggle to show/hide the rectangle encompassing?

• Elliptical selection tool - "no attention WARNING: no pixels are selected to more than 50 percent." The edges of the selection will be not visible.

  I am convinced that it is a bug in Photoshop CC 2014. I am on Windows 7, 64-bit. The 2014.2.2 version, and the version is 2014.204.r.310 x 64. If I select a zone by using the Rectangle tool, the area is described as usual. However, if I use the elliptical selection tool and select the same area, I get the warning. Even if I fill the region using the paint bucket, I always get error if I try to select using the elliptical framing box. Is always successful with the rectangle. I've seen other users re issues. the lasso tool with the same behavior and warning. The usual answer has been put at the edge of the feather to 0. However, it is by default (on my system) to 0.0. Using the selector to improve the contour and by replacing the value 0 (or any other value) makes no difference and in fact after this and clicking OK, the warning screens.

  Is this a bug with the elliptical selection tool? I've updated Photoshop just before submitting this question, and the behavior is unchanged.

  Hi irwin,

  There are different possibilities to solve this situation. Try one of the following options;

  • Decrease the radius of softening of the selection tools,
  • Increase the size of the selection
  • Increase the size of the image (this may decrease the quality of your image),.
  • Ignore the warning message and keep going to work on your file (remember that your selection is still there).
  • Also, make sure that you selected and the targeting of the correct layer.

  You may prefer to set the feather to zero in on the selection tools and use the pen (Ctrl + Alt + D) command for each specific selection. Using the feather command does not change the parameter of smoothing (zero value) on selection tool, so you don't need to wory on previous selections feather RADIUS.

• Why is still holding on MACBOOK PRO quick selection tool

  Just recently, my quick selection tool is obnoxiously slow.  It drives me crazy.  Nothing has changed on my computer and I have optimized my preferences as in another thread on this issue, but on a windows computer.  I don't know what's going on, but if someone has an idea on how to solve this problem, I would appreciate it!  I am running Yosemite 10.10.1 on a Macbook Pro 15 "retina

• Selection tool is not the tail with images when you drag

  So I had this frustrating thing for a while. When I put my selection tool a video file at first to move to the side or another layer and as soon as, like moving the selection tool a bit, he places automatically the video one layer under my selection tool... So I have to move the selection up to a length of layers tool to adjust it to the left and right on the timeline... Just a fight.   Went on the Chat with Adobe and they solved the problem via remote access.

  First on erase my personalized workspaces closed first pro. Then went to my "documents" (I have a mac) 'Adobe' and then click 'Premiere Pro' and moved three files named "6.0" "9.0" and "10.0" in a new folder, that they named "Od." Finally they opened back first. When the box came to put everything in place, they went up to the top of the window and deselected "import the project workspace" under "workspaces". I have opened a project and it fixed the problem. I had to make a new workspace and change some shortcuts custom back, but other that that, it was back to normal.

  You're out of space. Some toolbar has been resized/re-spaced in the last update. Click on the menu button (on the far-right in your screenshot) and select Customize... Make sure that the mounting frame (object) is selected. If this is the case, you should disable something else to make room for this group of button.

  The best way would be to make sure that your layer is not a background layer: click the lock icon in this case. Then click the icon at the bottom of the layer panel layer mask. This will create a mask that you can refine and not be destructive.

  I use the latest version of Photoshop CC and in all the documents, I try to use the marquee selection tool, I get a warning:

  WARNING: No pixel is selected more than 50%. Selected edges will be visible.

  Is this a bug or am I the only one having this problem?

  Hi, my Illustrator started doing strange things, I'll work away and then the Selection tool will decide Exchange with the direct Selection tool or the SHIFT key function will not perform as it should. There is obviously something upsetting, but I don't know what! Any thoughts?

  I use a Wacom Intuos5 (driver is up to date) and I'm on the retina of Macbook pro 15 "/ OSX El Capitan."
