  You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

  You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

  • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
  • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
  • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

  Clear the cache and delete cookies only from Web sites that cause problems.

  "Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

  'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

  Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

  HP Simple pass 2011, the latest version of the software "HP Simplepass", made by Authentec (so, NOT of Egistec or similar) does not work with Firefox 6.

  I am a web developer and since the 22nd of Firefox update, sounds no longer play for all users on the Web site. I even recreated the problem myself on a clean install of windows install quicktime 7/firefox/polluted.   so I have Firefox 13.0.1 and Flash Player upgrade to 11.3 and flash no longer works. I tried many things, but ultimately downgraded flas player for 11.2. Still no joy. The only way I can get Flash to work is if I start Firefox in safe mode with disabled modules. If I manually disable the modules from inside Firefox is still does not work, so I guess that's not quite the same as disabling safe mode. I have not installed RealPlayer. I tried to create a new profile, but still no joy. Other ideas for me to try please?

  Try resetting Firefox Firefox Refresh - reset the parameters and modules

  Also, try turning off hardware acceleration, disable hardware acceleration

• MKS plugin no longer works with Firefox Linux

  I've been using the plugin mks successfully with Firefox on my Ubuntu 9.04 a few months machine.

  But just recently I've been doing the dreaded black window of "VMware Remote MKS Plugin works do not" when I try to put in place consoles.

  I suspect that a recent update to Firefox or Ubuntu broke things. Someone at - he come across this new problem?

  You've already tried this. Uninstall the plugin and install it fresh through the browser plugin setup.

• Menu bar no longer works with the IE Update

  With the recent update of IE my main menu bar no longer works, "stationary" function does not work and it looks like the links are broken, but the links do not work if in fact, you click on it.  My vista machine, it is OK, but my XP machine, it does not show as a link. The submenu however works yet, here is the code, the first line is in the main menu and does not, the 2nd line a submenu and works.

  All of a sudden, I can't hotmail to work with my firefox browser. When I click on what anyone in hotmail, no action. All other websites work very well.
  Internet Explorer and Chrome will allow me to work with hotmail.

  But for some reason strange Firefox now works with Hotmail. I have no idea why. I did nothing.

  Turns out having had a problem of this laptop in particular, as you suggest.
  I tried to clear cookies and cache, but the problem remains same after uninstalling and reinstalling FireFox. I finally downloaded, installed, and the part used 'TuneUp' software including deleted the cache and cookies and updated my Malwarebytes Anti - Malware Pro after that I uninstalled FireFox. So when I reinstalled FireFox, AOL email was opened quickly by using this browser. Happy

  It seems to work. Please try this: using 7-Zip you can extract the installer and create customizations, default, preferences, etc. inside \core\defaults. Then zip the kernel and the setup.exe in the .7z format. Using 7-ZIP SFX Maker , you can create a self-extracting exe from the compressed file .7z with the required parameters. In 7-ZIP SFX files tab add (+) machine archive .7z created previously and in the Execute tab add (+) setup.exe in the field program and the ms in Arguments. Also, in general (it's for SFX machine), deselect the option allow the user to change the path and select hide the progress of extraction.

  I don't know about the time scale for the updates for other Norton products. Waiting for the update by Symantec, if you want to use Norton modules, you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.

  Downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first of all uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option 'remove my Firefox personal data '. If you select this option, it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.

  Then you can install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your favorite courses, passwords etc.

  I recommend, to avoid possible problems with decommissioning, accessing your profile folder and delete the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Delete these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, check their compatibility and cancel the toolbar customizations.

  You seem to have a file user.js in your profile folder. This is an optional file that is either user created or created by an add-on you have installed preferences specific "lock".

  Help > troubleshooting-> under Application Basics information - profile folder - click Show folder

  Then open the user.js in a program like Notepad to view the contents of this file. If you do not understand what the content of this file user.js is to post the content here.

  I saw where some preferences in a user.js file have not been disabled in Firefox SafeMode.
