Oops... found the problem. My address book was called "recipients" next to my e-mail address. I edited this name to say 'Margaret Parsons' and hop my name appears in the 'From' line on my e-mails. Yes, problem solved, enough time and poking around Thunderbird... of course love this email.

I received an email asking for my password, country, email, etc. I know it's a scam and wish to report it by sending the email somewhere I fell for this scam even when I was a new MOM of sleep, and I'm trying to save someone some grief. Help here > identifying fraudulent "phishing" email - Apple Support

    Statement suspected Phishing attempts

If you receive what you think to be a phishing e-mail supposed to be Apple, please send it to [email protected], a monitored mailbox, that does not answer individual e-mail.

Forward the message with full header information provides Apple with important information. To do this in OS X Mail, select the message and choose forward as an attachment in the Message menu. For other applications of e-mail or webmail based services, consult your ISP support information to determine how to transfer messages with full headers.

  • I can't send an email to several addresses e-mail using the mail on my iMac running OS 10.11.4.  The email goes into the Outbox, but it cannot be sent from there.  Any suggestions? Thank you.

I can't send an email to multiple email addresses, using Apple mail on my iMac running OS 10.11.4.  With all the addresses email goes into the Outbox, but cannot be sent from there.  All solutions?  Thanks for your help.

That could happen if one of the addresses is incorrect.

  • Today I can't send the email from my Mac, the iPhone and the iPad fine

When I try to send emails on my Mac, I am now prompted for my password. I enter the password and it tells me "failed to verify the account name or password." I can always continue to send emails without problem from my iPhone / iPad.

When I run the connection doctor, I see that I connect very well in IMAP, but not SMTP - "trying to connect to this account SMTP failed." Verify that the user name and password are correct "-which I am sure also that I can be, they are."

I set up two step check recently, could he be bound. It seems to work very well, I have my phone and iPad, set up as secure devices and when I want to connect to iCloud.com for example, I get the code on my phone without problem.

I use iCloud standard mail and I can connect to everything I can think of with my iCloud password so I am sure that the username of the account and the password are correct.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

OK, all fixed. Didn't know that I had to create a specific password app, even though it says "Use a specific app password during registration to an application or a service that is not provided by Apple." OSX app and iCloud mail are services from Apple!
